Another Mold Question

On some of my buds I have notices and very small amout of what looks like fuzz on 2 or 3 pistils. I suspect this fuzz to be mold. Its a very small amount just on the pistils. These areas seem to occur when a bud grows against the stalk of the plant/branch thus the bud grows around the stalk making an indentation on the bud. The amount of fuzz is tiny. If I were to pluck the suspect pistils off with sanitized tweezers do you think the bud would be fine? Also ive incorporated washing my bud after chopping with lemon juice and baking soda. Would this kill the small amount of mold if it were present? Would you feel comfortable gifting the bud after plucking the suspect pistils off? I dont have any pictures sorry.

To each their own but IMHO no , if what you describe is in fact mold the whole bud should be tossed.

youd find it on the foliage before the buds

Yeah thats the thing. Its so hard to tell what it is. It seems like its just around brown pistils. Ill take a loupe to it later to get a better diagnoses.

Hey George!

Did you have a humidity pack in that jar?

Cheers

Hi man beer3|nullxnull , I live just near the coast so humidity is high, guess it was lack of burping , no need for those packs here. The road to sapience leaves many dead corpses behind, now I know …

Im sure what im seeing is mold starting to grow on the dead pistils of the plant. In fact most of the good looking bud in the greenhouse has tiny amounts of mold starting when peeling the colas apart.

Could you post some pics? That would help … Arriba|nullxnull

Almost sounds like Botrytis if you’re seeing it in the colas.

Yeah ill try to snag some photos when i head out there today. Its always the bud that make physical contact with the stem of the plant. So real tight colas pretty much have it all the way up.

So another question. Once a rotten bud has been found on the plant does that mean the whole plant has systematically been affected or just the bud site?

Me myself id get rid of the whole plant.
Thats me, glad there’s only one of me.
Wouldn’t even risk any futures coming off of it. Beans or snips.

Sadly ill have to trash quite a few pounds. Not even going to risk possible contamination

I didn’t noticed it until it was in the jar, may they have tiny spores that you don’t see but then develope and contamine the rest in optimal conditions like the tighten jar gives.

Also they can be some webs, picture will help for sure … :sunglasses:

Ill try for pics. The amount is so small on the stuff in the jars i do t think my phone can capture. Its like 2 or 3 pistils stuck together with a little fuzz

Throw that shit in the freezer and kill it for one.
My stash is always in the freezer, not a fan of the curing process in jars.
Freezer kills bugs molds and whatever.
Keeps your stash nice and fresh and does it own cure.

lots of people overlook the freezer, most people i know never cured back in the day.
Alot of it because you couldn’t keep it around either supply and demand or Johnny.
Curing is way too far over rated.
