Any dog trainers in the house?

you’re sarcasm is nice, if only you’re actually teaching me something. Not sure why you’re so offended that I’m against recommending Cesar to someone that’s not actually a dog trainer?

A minor adjustment is a light tug on the leash, BEFORE the dog get’s aggressive. As soon as the dog fixates on something it shouldn’t a light tug on the leash (like you’re tugging a 5 years old t-shirt) would be a MINOR adjustment. I don’t know if Cesar changed his ways, but the way he snaps a leash is not a minor adjustment.

What are you so mad about? Can’t have a cordial conversation? Don’t get why your taking it personally?

Don’t take over a thread with your rants about how much you despise Cesar millan.

Are you Cesar Millan? You seem kind of defensive about him.

A) not a rant. Just making sure OP doesn’t get bad advice. You seemed to skip over the other comments that agreed with what I was say.

B) don’t feel like any of this is helping OP, and definitely not getting through to you. A conversation is 50/50 so you are taking over the thread just as much as myself.

C) I’m stepping out of this conversation as you clearly don’t want to have a genuine conversation and are hurt that someone is against Cesar Millan’s methods. I have nothing again Cesar and he has a great show. But there’s a reason he himself says don’t try this at home.

I’ve got a funny story. So there was this rampaging dog it would roam the neighborhood and one day it was sleeping on the welcome mat in front of the door. I almost tripped over it, just laying there! Go home! I yelled at it. It just sat there looking at me.So I was like hmmm I know what I don’t like, getting sprayed in the face with a squirt gun. So I loaded up the super soaker and that dog never came back. Then there was this huge white dog roaming the neighborhood. If you told it to get lost it would just lay down on the ground in passive resistance mode. So I loaded up the super soaker. Yo, that dog is terrified of me now. I just yell a command and it’s hopping and skipping and jumping to do it. Not even my dog.
My dog? Obeys and is good. Showered with good times! goodies etc. Walking even off leash, don’t care about other dogs. When the dog does something negative like go and try to eat your food… I just tap the water pistol against my hand, and he gets the message loud and clear. After a while… I don’t even touch the gun, there’s no need for that kind of negative re-enforcement, because the training is done. Consistent and clear messages always get through.
