Any guitarists here ? I’m a jam band guy myself

Guitar Center in OKC used to do that too. But for a couple years now they keep everything locked up. They have the seperate room for acoustic, but all the high dollar guitars are in locked glass case. I used to love going in there and strum the Matins and Taylor’s. I picked up a $6000 Breedlove once that I fell in love with, but no funds available.

$6k for a guitar is insane. For that much the guitar needs to be able to take over playing itself while I smoke a bowl mid song

A great guitar will make a mediocre player, (like me) sounds tons better. That particular guitar sounded like someone just dropped it out of heaven. I shit you not.

It’s funny cause that thought crossed my mind as I was responding. I’ve definitely picked up guitars that increased my skill immediately.

I love an inspirational instrument! Unfortunately they are few under a price point! Talking acoustics… have you guys seen this? Really need to test drive one of these too!

That’s pretty crazy! I was kind of put off by it at first but when he actually started playing something rather than just letting it echo it clicked. Would definitely be cool to try but I’d immediately regret that a portion of money I could have spent on a better guitar went to having on board electronics on my acoustic.

I installed a couple of these in a friend’s guitars and it was interesting. If you start with a dead top it doesn’t do a great deal for the sound but a lively guitar will shimmer nicely. It’s really more an effect than an amplifier, picking up and reinforcing the upper mids and highs with some adjustable filters.

Made his 12 string lush but almost nothing from the classical.

I live good half hour from the store i play their guitars. Last time i was there, i bought more strings “To pay my rent” we all got a laugh. Payed my rent 2 times now. (D’Addario 11/49 & 8/39 half rounds.) Haven’t put the strings on - yet. Never used “extra super light”. I like a full “round” sound. I don’t play like SRV (or anybody) but i like the sound he got with his heavy gauge’s.

Is that a kit or “youdo” from scratch? I always wanted to try a kit. Whichever, looks superb. If a kit would you recommend?

Just rent one. What’s the cost of 3 months from a music store? Might be cheaper than realizing you don’t want to play the banjo long-term.

You can always work your banjo rolls on your guitar in the meantime.

That mite be true lol,I’ll check Facebook see can I trade some bud for one

Should probably learn the harmonicas I have in the cupboard as well,go all out pissing off the neighbors  that’s dogs bark all fuxing day anywayz

I’m looking to buy a looper pedal to goof around with. What can I get that is reliable for under, say, $120? Unlimited overdubs would be nice but necessary.
Like I said, it’s just to goof off and maybe work up some tunes when the bands not here to kick in.

I have a Boss RC2 looper that I don’t use if you are interested.
