Hey, come and take some of ours if you want…

Apparently we have a few of them here.

I was going to contact the Canadian Ornithological Society to possibly identify a new species of bird at my feeder…

I love to fish when I can get out. I like to make it an all day affair when I can. I go to my favourite spot to trap some minnows and leeches, have a joint or two, and carry on to my favourite fishing spot on the 417… Nothing like fishing with the semis whizzing by at 100 km/h about 12 feet behind your back…

But the view is nice…

And you get a snack more times than not…

Canadian here too, and the only bears I’ve ever seen have been at various town dumps lol

I’m by the great lakes also. I have a little inflatable boat thats fun to take into small ponds and things for panfish, sunfish crappy etc. Otherwise I wade in the lake and go for smallmouth. I’ve got a few 3+ pounders.

Twice a year I can go elbow my way between immigrants from every flag to fight over planted catfish in a fetid pool 50’ x 20’ for a day. It sucks.

Those are holidays. :unamused:

Miss that stuff big time. :fishing_pole_and_fish:

Sounds like the Salmon and Steelhead runs on the Ganaraska River, Bronte Creek etc. on the tributaries of Lake Ontario…

I don’t miss that stuff at any time…

Great state of Mn representing here.
Nice pics of the walleyes. Very impressive!

I prefer Gillies, crappies and northerns myself.
I eat a meal of fresh fish once a week, caught out of the lake behind my cabin.

I fish these rivers during the spring and fall runs. Float fishing is a blast.

Got this one in May of this year on the French River

Ive made that day trip a few times. Hell of a long drive for me.
I wish the southern Huron tribs were taken care of and not turned into runoff ditches for farms :slightly_frowning_face:

At least we get the big river here though so I cant complain.
Heres a pic of an 8lb bowfin I got a couple weeks ago on Lake St Clair, and a couple swamp donkeys

Hey, I just found this. I’ve been fishing since a kid and have fished all over the country. It’s almost as cultural as the people of different regions. I grew up fishing in the southeast for bass, crappie, bream, but could also catch large gar, muskie, etc.

I fished on the Gulf coast a lot and also lived on the Outer Banks of NC and surf fished every day. I lived across the highway from the ocean. I love that sand flea video above! Sand flea fishing can be a freaking blast. You can catch two large pompano right at you feet by dinking the bait right into the small breaking wave.

Now I’m in Colorado and fish from my kayak mostly. I lived in Montana before going to Cape Hatteras and was a guide there catching all sorts of trout and Grayling. I have a lake a mile and a half from my house. I was there this morning already. No bites today but we have smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, wipers, rainbow and brown trout, walleye, sauger, saugeye, yellow perch, catfish… and a few more… it’s a pretty cool lake. We have a few mountain lakes with cuthroat and some local hybrid trout I forget the name.

Here are a few pics from around here. All of my bear pics are on the other hard drive. I need to get it linked up again. We have lots of bears that like to get up close and not shy at all. I had one regular at the last house, and one tried to climb in the windows on my back porch while I was getting high in the living room. We was pulling on the screen door when I came around the corner…

cut throat in the mountain lake,
wiper (white bass/striper),
smallmouth on the bottom. They get pretty big here and fight great.

More as they come! Now I want to go back to the lake… it’s that or stay home and do chores, mow grass, up-pot weed plants… I better go back.

You got my attention lol. I love fishing, both fishing and growing herb are my passions. I’m an avid fly fisherman. I live in Nova Scotia and main species I love to hook into are browns, salmon, brook trout and striped bass. All on fly. I tie my own flies as well, got a room pretty much decicated to tying lol.

Bowfin/dogfish fun to catch, catch our share round here.
Grandson was just up caught some 3-4lb swamp dogs? Never heard that phrase before for bass, I’d be more apt to call that bowfin a swamp dog myself.

I grew up on big water, pools 11,12 and 13 on the miss. I mean I literally grew up on her.
Grew up eating bullheads, catfish and a few crappies and the occasional bass when I’d get a hold ofem.
They didn’t mess with Gillies too much also have eatin my fair share of snapping turtle.

Get some rubber frogs and work the duck weed.
Great time them Gators come across that slop, surprises the crap out of ya.
I bought Northland lures out of their old style Reedrunners, the pros redisigned them thought they needed a big chunk of lead to stir up the mud.
Never caught nothing off the new style.

Now the old style a different story, great gator and swamp donkey fodder.

Only one fish today, a nice heavy rainbow who fought really hard.

I could have ice fished this year. The ice came sort of early and stayed all winter. People fished on it all season. I was surprised it was fishable for so long. Maybe I’ll try it next year. I need to find somebody who has all of the gear. I have some pics in here somewhere. Maybe I’ll find one later.
