Things are chugging right along, gave em a feeding couple days ago and noticing the vigor start to pick up on em
Just waiting for a few last minute seeds I got from other members to finally pop meeting my deadline goal of may 1st for everything to be started and under the az Sun
@highminwin that Ethiopian banana cross has taken the lead for my tallest plant so far and is in the 2nd pic
oh damn, i’ll have to send off the banana strains i got to you right away then. i was waiting for a few more, but this’ll have to do if you’re soft sticking to your deadline.
@highwinmin here’s something I want you to check out. In order for my photoperiods to stay in veg they need to see the days getting longer for that month from seed to sexual maturity since at peak our days are only about 15-16 hrs around end of June, after beginning of may is when we start to have a drop off under 2 minutes a day gain and starts to dive pretty quick on how much those gains are so I need to allow a 6 week span till summer solstice so they know what season they are in.
Continuing to follow the lighting sunrise to sunset times these plants will be expected to start to flower by the end of July with the middle of the month having the days starting to get shorter more than a minute a day. At this point we should be in the thick of the grow season with very least cotelydons popping up or going to shortly. May first leaves 7 weeks till summer solstice so I’m giving myself a week buffer to at least get seeds popped but yes it’s pretty much “last call” this far into the season
I took a lot of notes last year prepping for this and how to keep em going in veg for a full grow year, this is the best I came up with, start popping seeds as early as spring solstice and in the ground by may 1st, flower end of July and harvest in Sept, that’s what I observed others do and they got stupidly awesome results with monsters in a hoop house last year. Well I say thanks for the timing tips and it’s my turn this time lol
These are the details of outdoor growing that are crucial for me to learn. Can’t thank you enough for this explanation. For me, I was under the impression that as long as it’s more than 12 hours a day, it’ll stay vegging, but plants are obviously smarter than that in their natural setting.
I know it’s only been 4 days since my last one but it’s very evident looking between both pictures they have got some serious vigor running strong which puts me about 6 days from my last tea feeding, the recipes I’ve dialed in don’t mess around
@highminwin your girl gonna need to be trained soon and gonna be a beast by end of summer, she has doubled her height since last update and is getting just barely over the 4ft mark on my greenhouse there’s gonna be a lot of fimming in her future, she’s REALLY loving that tea to grow that much in 4 days since last pics
Here’s the rest of em just moving right along, next week or so I should be able to do another m/f sweep, been watching what’s out there and no preflowers yet for the older ones getting close to a month
Got rid of that old jenky cooler that was making all sorts of noise for the bearings and had all sorts of Micky mouse issues with it. Now I should be solid for the season, last cooler kept that greenhouse at outside temp, new one it feels way cooler than outside now, bring it on 115-120 daily!! Im ready for it!
Here is them this morning, teas are suggested every 10-14 days and being 11 days in since the last they are starting to show signs of hunger so will be brewing one today
@highminwin this thing is incredibly lanky, top of the plant is eye level with me and still got 2 and a half more months of veg plant grew couple feet in 11 days… 🤷🤦
Lmao! Right?? I’m actually pretty blown away with this year’s vigor I’ve dialed in, gonna be doing a lot of fimming and shaping these girls this year with 2 and half months still before they hit the flower stretch but thrilled with how things are turning out so far!
