Baltimore's Multi-strain Bonanza

I would buy the cheapest tent available in the size I need. After owning a few different tents, i don’t see the point in the extra hundreds of dollars for name brand tent like gorilla. Like sure, the quality is hands down better, but lets be honest here. If it’s sealed on 6 walls with no light leaks, what more do you really need?

For lights, again, I would go with something off this page:

Takes like 10 minutes to put the lights together, there’s plenty of videos or can ask here if you need help assembling but its not difficult at all and would save you hundreds of dollars, and you’d likely have a better light for the money at that doing it yourself. I have the HLG’s and such and I still prefer my samsung strips, they outperform the qb boards hands down and they’re cheaper, more spectrums, can run more of them, there’s no lose situation other than it’s minor diy.

If you can handle the heat no problem and need to save more money, i’d go with a CMH setup for sure. HPS if you have to, it’s a good standby, but the cmh is hands down better and both will be cheaper than even diy led’s, but gonna be putting out some extra heat too.

That’s the only problem is the heat you know what I mean but I feel like I’m hanging on to the high pressure sodium from another era I mean no get the s*** done but I always have bulbs on the back up I’d like to put together a quantum board but this strip seemed more efficient to me specially for their low profile and power.

I think I just gravitate toward things that seem like they’re the newest technology but I need to actually have a reason for buying something other than it takes four different bulbs odds are I’m not going to have a f****** warehouse type setup in the next ever lol.

I think I just have to be honest with myself and just keep it small for now and if you know in the future I can always go however but for a consumer you’re probably right I just need to stop with the b*********** and I know Mr sparkle has some write-ups for the bridge locks strips and Reiko as well.

One more question bridge lux or sol strips? Last time I heard the sole structure sold out now I have the money we shall see. The little tent that I got for my aunt actually does a great job so you’re probably right spending $400 on a gorilla tent is a stupid maneuver. Her tent is nicer than my 4x4x6 and a half. She’s got the little green viewing window I’m jealous now I need me one. Thanks for your input dude I appreciate it very much all the input in the feedback. It’s time to do some f****** work.:v:

Son of a b**** man I cannot grow this kush without f****** getting powdered mildew on it is there any way that I can avoid powdered mildew seriously by watering really low or bottom watering I mean I have four fans in here and a 6 in and I’m still getting the powdery mildew could it possibly be the fact that the plants are 85° lights on and then air conditioner and lights out?

if I wouldn’t have called this my whole plan would have been f***** up it did it to me last time I had to Chuck about an ounce.

For my next light I want to build my own strip light for my 4x4 tent but for now I replaced a 600wat hps with a 315 cmh and loving it. Half the watts and no way half the harvest :+1: I also have 315 in a 3x3. Now just have to keep honing my skills to catch up too the equipment I have. Killer plants man…you can grow

I’ve not used either strip so not sure, only bought the samsung f-strips as i wanted to be sure they would be putting out equivalent light to my qb boards, and they do. Possibly more given same wattage.

These boards/strips with the LM301# led chips on em ARE the newest technology so you wouldn’t be going wrong there. They very nice thing is you can usually build a light like these from that site for cheap, and if you need to go bigger later just add a couple more strips, or buy a bigger driver to drive the strips you have harder. or do both, buy more strips AND a bigger driver and bam, new bigger light without having to buy a whole new one. If new boards come out? swap out your strips, you’re driver will likely still work fine for them, just need to make sure the voltages line up but you can kinda mix and match with wiring in series and shit too. That starts to get complicated but easily doable. With these strips you only need around 20w/square foot. Any more than that and you usually start getting light burn.

Up to you, but I can’t justify buying anything else after trying those couple strips. I haven’t found anything even remotely close to the price for the quality and strength of those f-strips. And I know those bridgelux’s work just as well, just might need double the boards compared to the f-strips but even then it’s cheaper than buying f-strips. both are cheaper than any other pre-made light you’d buy by at least ~$50 if not $100+. Not really gonna be cheaper than hps/cmh though

I’ve been reading that Powdery Mildew could be in the genetics, like, the plant pops out of the ground with it and is a systemic issue. Not necessarily anything you or the environment caused. Also read that it very well might be transferable between plants, like if you use the same scissors to trim a plant with it as you do one without it, the one without it could end up getting it if you didn’t clean and sterilize the tools between plants.

Thank you Motz. I appreciate the wisdom dude. I’m still young and just trying to I don’t know be progressive I guess it sounds stupid. The main thing is just get the job done and get it done right get it done as cheap as possible but don’t cut corners.

I think you’ve been trying to preach this to me for a while. I believe I was lurking on a thread just a little bit ago and you were talking about the Nepali 's that you made. I believe you saying that those were a very special strain? I wasn’t sure if it was a Bodhi grail type strain or if you had created it?

Like I said I’m just getting out of this fog man I’m really trying to stop chasing down bs and rock with good breeders you know?

I hope you’re feeling good dude I know you said you were in a health situation. I pray for you and hopefully everything works out for the best for you dude. You have a good one and be safe.:v:

Holy s*** dude I had no idea I mean I’ve seen Reiko’s plants and and other guys you know? I use him as an example because he’s helped me a lot but there’s no denying it anymore if I have the money I should go ahead and build a setup my thing is is people say don’t even worry about it dimmer you know it’s just a waste of money.

In order to keep it cheap as possible. I just need a driver you know basic stuff some angle aluminum so maybe some rivets will get this thing going on like you said there’s enough write-ups on here my ass should get to it.

That sounds amazing I mean at this point the technology is there and it’s almost that it’s finished I wouldn’t say nothing will surpass this but like you said if it’s really pumping that type of light out from those thin strips absolutely there’s no f****** way I should even buy some thick old ass cheap lighting system. :joy::+1:

hopefully the powdered mildew will just stay segregated to that piece I have no other plants with any on it but like you said it could be transferred from the sides anything after this run I’m just going to you know give everything a twice over break the fans open I honestly did two runs right in a row just dropping clones in so everything really needs a good scrubbing.

maybe I should just wax this plant and try another.I have more of them it’s not that big of a deal you know if it pops up again it’s probably crappy growing practices lol. My gut away so over here trying to save money.. Damn dirty Irish dope growers!

I’m envious of the guys who live up in the desert mountains they’ve never seen powdered mildew it seems like some plants will sit right next to one and not take any on and another one will just be decimated.

I’ve been really sucking all the water up and not leaving any drips and trying not to get anything sprayed on the buds but as far as that you know the way my tent situated I can’t access it from the back corner so I had to take the trellis tonight out literally so I could just have access to where you know normal things pruning and such.

Definitely a big shout out to @anon5325009 I think I might have chased him down about the northern lights until he buckled and sent me a pack lol.

I should have just named myself Northern Goji.:hugs: Got some good stuff right there man and I very much appreciate it I’ll make sure I get me a female keeper and she’s going to stay put up I’m trying to get a nice cut back with that nice juniper berry vomit smell real f****** dank I let that cut go.

It made me angry knowing I let that cut go just being so ill and when I got my soil and everything better the quality of the plant was totally different than the first run and unfortunately I let it slip so hopefully between the northern lights two and five and the star lights I can find a nice couple females.

Definitely going to be the northern light show this time coming up and I have to put some of the fancy pants stuff off. Try to get some baked beanz in there. That’s why I’m buying another tent probably a 3-ft and then another 4x4x6. Maybe I’ll just do some screw-ins on the 3x3 run some autos in it and build a strip set up for the 4x4 and that sounds about right I just want a small tent to run these autos in.

I’m jealous my aunt’s autos her plants look better than mine do. Damn screw insmaking me look like a fool and I put them together for her now I want them back.:v:

Oh man, Nice! I got a pack of those myself from a trade I made but not sure when/if I’ll run them. I really like these NL5HSS one’s from Todd/Mel Frank, and I just picked up his haze bx of them too, should be here next week. But yeah we’ll have to see who does what first. I got a clone of the girl NL5HSS and working on cloning my male, already in flower so we’ll what happens but I’m running those Goji F3’s from Sincy when these are finished and was planning to do the same thing. Hit the Goji with the NL5HSS to make some Northern Goji, or as my wife wants to call it, Cloud Berry

Yeah I’m not going to be crossing the Starlight but the northern lights one and two I have like four or five goji clones sitting here doing nothing.

I think they can get a little bit of dust thrown on them from Sicy’s Pollen. Since Goji has that sharp berry taste and then a good northern lights cut has that juniper berry vomity I don’t know man it’s a you know once you smoke that you know exactly what it is it’s indescribable but unforgettable? Juniper Berry lol I guess.

Northern Goji! Lol :hugs::+1:

I found out the problem of the powdered mildew it was my very small e-pupil clone this plant right here is one of my favorite that mass medical strains put out. It’s absolutely gorgeous.

I’ve seen white purple and this cut right here gets neon pink my homeboy has a picture of the dry sift rolled in a ball it looks like neon f****** pink man it is gorgeous. this smoke is in the mid to high twenties most of his stuff is it’s that f****** star pupil man that pupil funk gives all his s*** that gas.
Mr. E Pupil… Mass Meds (R’s cut)

Sorry that last shot’s a little blurry I just wanted to get the whole picture of this little afro puff.here’s the culprit these bottom little leaves were so faded out I couldn’t see the powdered mildew along the edges.so I’m going to nick them all off wipe everything up in the area and hopefully I can push forward I’m really close to the end I just man that fourth and inch is f****** kills me every time.

I’m sorry I just wanted to set this straight East coaster damn gave mass medical was his name? Uhh. yeah East coaster Dam gave him a cut of the mystery.

So literally it was a mystery so they named it Mr e. Pretty cool little bit of tidbit that my homeboy passed on to me I had to know where this originated from unfortunately all we get is pakistani.

Ah gotcha, well still. Maybe seeing you grow out the starlite will get me to pop mine

That NL2xNL5 crossed to the goji should be damn good regardless. Definitely interested in seeing what those look like structure wise and flower of course.

Looks like you nailed the culprit for the powerdery mildew! Sadness on it being on the Pupil, but that stuff does look and sound fantastic!

I have to see how the e pupil does that e people has a funk to it it’s almost like a fermented but sweet strawberry it would match perfectly with goji’s palette if you could third well I guess it would be cross northern lights with Goji and then cross that with the e pupil. I believe if you can get those flavors to carry through you would have an absolute dynamite strain that e-pupil runs from 23 to 29 throw the northern lights in there and then hit it with the f****** goji You already know.

So how would I manage that cross the e people I only have in feminine form I guess I could hit it with a Goji pollen then grow those seeds out find a suitable mail and cross its city pupil?

Wait wait
Mr. E-fem
Goji OG-reg
NL…That’s where I got hung up on the northern lights I can source pollen from there but what is the ratio for dominance? I mean as far as male pollinates female which would be the dominant strain?

Between those 3 it might be hard to tell. In general the more inbred the line is, the more it dominates in the offspring. So big chance the NL carries through the most. Idk the history on the e pupil… I know the SL male in the Goji tends to dominate too.

A 3 way cross may end up like these NL5HSS I have, the 3rd cross is a little hard to tell it’s there. Least in the F1’s. They were NL5 crossed to haze, and then those seeds crossed to sensi star and the offspring still look mostly like NL5xHaze. Will take some F2’s and such before you really start seeing the variation between the plants and can start choosing what you want to have in the line.

May be something where you could be better crossing two of them and working that line until its mostly where you want it and then cross it to the 3rd one to hopefully get the final effects you want, in an F1 form.

As for which should be male or female to dominate the cross, there isn’t much info I can find. What I can find says it just depends on the plants. Sometimes the male brings more to the cross in terms of structure and such, and sometimes the female brings more. Especially if one line is more inbred than the other, the more inbred line has more genes of itself to contribute to the cross, It just depends on the genes in the lines.

Could do male goji x female nl and male nl x female goji and end up with F1’s that look like 2 totally different looking crosses. Or they could both look pretty much the same. Kinda just have to try it and find out. Keep a male/female pair back of your best strain(s) and work them and their descendants over time.

I have Fluence in one tent and Spider Farmer in the other. The Fluence SPYDRx Plus is on semi-permanent loan to me. I never would have forked over $1500 out of my own pocket because I’m cheap, but it’s a really nice light! I purchased two Spider Farmer SF2000s a few months ago for a 5x5 tent and just chopped the first plant grown under them this week. There’s no doubt the Fluence is a bad ass light that has given me fantastic yields, but if I was deciding between the two I’d be happier with the Spider Farmer. They are very lightweight by comparison and super easy to move/adjust. I’ve struggled with maneuvering the Fluence and had one “tragedy narrowly averted” before learning I needed a second set of hands and double supports due to the weight. The SF2000s also have a dimmer built in, where the Fluence brightness can only be adjusted by the number of strips you plug in. The Spider Farmers are covering the same amount of space for less than half the price, and get the job done. I could even add a third SF2000 if I really wanted to crank up the lumens and still come in significantly less than the Fluence.

Going to be building the light strip set up 4x4. Trying to get it done as cheaply as possible and use I guess fairly decent strips or if I can afford better strips That’s the way to go. I appreciate all the tips and stuff I’m going to have to go back now and just figure out all the small things I need. If anybody has any information little tips and stuff to help save time be greatly appreciated. I’m excited about this.
