Basement hempy with sils, lots of beans, “breakfast weed”

Today this happened.

Gonna hang them this weekend to replace the t8s(at least one of which will go to my wife to keep her ever expanding succulent collection alive this coming winter), as well as pot up the photo plants and (probably) harvest the Galaxy Brain.

Shucked the Loki og.

I’ll put together some, say x6 six packs to start, if anyone wants some of these. :+1:

So, my impressions of the Loki OG,

Smell: first smell is of hot sugar, like candy but no particular fruit smells or anything. Background of oil, not gassy, maybe more like grease. Also in the background a strong peppery smell, like chili peppers, not peppercorns. My wife said it smells like a candy factory, meaning sugar, heat, and machinery.

Taste: out of the Dyna vap the first pull is really earthy, like sautéed spinach almost. Second pull is peppery, deep and kinda spicy. After that is just gets “weedy” nondescript chemically, skunky. From a joint the taste is earthy and peppery from the first pull, gets more oily and generic “weedy” as you get through it.

Effects: first thing you feel i am going to describe as a “softening” of your vision, colors are a bit more saturated. You eyes get smaller, but because your cheeks rise up in a grin, not because your stoner eyebrows drop down and try to close your eyes. Feeling uplifted “all is well”, perfect beach weed. You’ll have fun at the grocery store too, but bring a list cause your attention will be fleeting haha. No energy boost, no nervousness, but no drag either. As the high wears off you are deposited right back to your pre smoking place, just a bit more relaxed.

The nonseeded pant is a bit more “spacey”, I actually prefer the seeded plant a bit!

Quite a bit different than the time I grew this before, but I really beat the crap out of those plants, like real bad. It was my first time using sils, and I treated them like cfls, meaning right on top of the plants, burnt the crap out out of them. It was real bad.

Me me me! I’d totally love some!

Edit: If you want happy to trade some of my creations!

Chopped the Galaxy Brain today. Shiny ass trash bag obviously not the ideal photo backdrop, but better than my wash sink haha.

Was gonna pot these up, but pulled a few out, and those roots have room to go in there yet. I’m sure my dry out torture is part of that. Added a light top dress with Coast of Maine’s Stonington dry fert to all of them except the small Purple Satellite. Took all the wind damaged leaves off the big one. Did some shuffling and manipulating and clipping and breaking. Lights are going off one hour earlier, so 13/11 now. :+1:

Looking good! Is one of those veg plants the Purple Corinto cross?

It is yes. Well x4 of them are actually. I have x2 PCB X NWHP and x2 PCB X A5HT. The description of the PCB sounded really nice, so I grabbed em both:
“ Purple Corinto’s easy-riding euphoria is shifted toward creativity, sociability and motivation along with subtler psychedelic mood enhancement and body effects. The aroma of these artisanally cured flowers is as exotic as everything else about them, with a captivating effervescence of honeydew melon, herbaceous eucalyptus and alkaline desert soil. Purple Corinto makes an excellent daytime smoke, with medium duration uplift that fades without undue tiredness.”

Hell yeah, sounds real good to me!
Still vegging, so no real impressions of them yet, other than the NWHP cross being whispy af, beautiful plants. I’ll be excited to compare notes on the A5HT cross once the action starts!

Okay, yeah, I couldn’t remember if you were growing the WHP cross or the A5Thai cross. Guess you’re growing both haha! Mine didn’t stretch too bad. I mean, she’s the tallest plant in the tent, but not much taller than anything else. One thing I’ve noticed (and this is why I was asking) is that she seems to wanna drink a lot of water. Have you noticed that the A5Thai cross is thirsty? It’s really not a big deal, just means I gotta give her a little more water than the rest of the plants every time I water, but I’ve noticed that.

And I’m proud of that haha! I don’t usually make too many observations…

That is a good observation though, and one that I will agree with. I am also running Chocolate Blitz, which is also a A5HT cross and all of those plants do seem to dry out faster than the NWHP plants. I am watering every other day right now, and the A5HT plants are always light, while the NWHP tend to still feel a bit damp. The larger of the purple satellite is quite thirsty also, but that plant is also pretty damn big, and started flowering under 14/10 light, so maybe not a good comparison haha. And the smaller PS barely sips water, sometimes I skip that plant cause I’m afraid of water logging it :man_shrugging: :+1:
EDIT: imma walk this back a bit now, why? Because I just checked and the NWHP are in slightly larger pots. 8dia x 6deep vs 7.5dia x 5deep for the A5HT plants. Which would explain the different weight.
To add to that, the PS are in a slightly larger pot too, same as the NWHP.
So really all we learned here is that I’m high haha :+1: :man_shrugging:

I won a pack of Coastal Seed’s High Biscus (Purple Corinto x Puna Butter). I’ve had them on the bench because I couldn’t really find any good descriptions. That one just moved them into the on deck circle :yum:

Nice, that’ll be one to watch for sure!
When I bought these I asked Doc D about the lineage of the PCB, and he told me that it is in fact Kiona’s selected cut of Coastal’s High Biscus, which is the description I posted above, figured that was worth clarifying. He said Kiona likes to give their cuts their own names :man_shrugging: :+1:

You gotta F2 that line!

Oh, shit, Doc didn’t mention that to me. He just said it was from Kiona and since I’ve got every strain description from their site pretty much committed to memory at this point haha, I knew what he was talking about. Didn’t realize it was actually Coastal’s cross. You’d think Kiona might’ve wanted to mention that in the description…

Yeah, you’d think that’d be a bit of a selling point.

I asked Doc about the PCB a while ago when I bought the A5HT cross:
Me: Out of curiosity, what can you tell me about the mother of these seeds? Is it coastal seeds High-biscus, or just a similar cross?

Doc: the purple conrinto budder is coastals high-biscus… it was grown and selected by the guys out at kiona thc… they like to put theire own names on their cuts… you can check them out on instagram, they have some photos and a description of the mama i use… the PCB is a long flowering nearly pure sativa, with colorful hues, big yeilds, and an earthy sandalwood aroma. I’m hoping the A5 Haze/thai bx male will shorten the flowering time and add some potency.

The hit about crossing it the A5HT to get the flowering time down caught my attention lol

Im pretty sure was using some other Kiona cuts as well, the Vietblack I’m pretty sure was theirs, I believe he discussed it on The Potcast. Don’t quote me on that, it was months ago that I listened to it, and I never discussed it with Doc.

I see times for the High Biscus from 63 days to “long flowering.” Hard to know what to believe

I wish I was better set up to do that. I may try an open pollination with the whole pack, but that may also just be a pipe dream, lol!

Im down to try some out. Looks amazing!!

Okay, yeah, he mentioned all of that other stuff when I asked him about it, but not the Coastal Seeds thing. Or maybe he did mention it and I forgot, but I don’t think I did. And you’re right, I’m fairly certain he’s using (or was using, I guess haha) Kiona’s Vietnam Black.

It’s possible. Only one of my Bandaid Haze/A5Thais wanted to go longer than about 80 days. And the one Purple Corinto/A5Thai that’s flowering now doesn’t look like she’s gonna take more than eleven weeks or so, either, if not shorter. I saw some posts re: that Chocolate Blitz a while back and dude said they were done at like 56 days or something insane like that. Pretty sure he was growing in coco, though, that mighta made a difference. Still really fast, though.

Isn’t that what every breeder does? “We don’t really know. Could take nine weeks OR it might take eighteen. Good luck!” hahaha…
