“Sour Diesel”. 1 jar after removing rotting flowers. Possibly less than that. Time will tell.

I’m almost down to the legal plant count. I look at the 8 remaining plants that aren’t hung yet and laugh thinking “imagine only having that”… meanwhile I had two plants to harvest last year and I’m still here alive and well (that’s debatable really).

At a minimum… two ways of looking at it.

  1. Grow more expecting a nature tax and possibly face human repercussions
  2. Sit back and enjoy every last toke of some home grown Sour Diesel while it lasts

Looks great from here :sunglasses:

Thanks for the upful advice. Buds in the trash. All that rot was hanging and possibly rubbing against others. Gonna trim Hella Jelly today. :crossed_fingers:t6:

First dip in water and hydrogen peroxide. Then hang in sun. Hang in bathroom till snap, going like nine days this year. Clip buds into paper bag. Trim and jar a day or two later. Thats it.

Water is very important to living soil. Keeping the soil moist keeps the eco system moving. Understanding this leads to overwatering. Too much too often. Less water more often is the simple solution in big pots. Bottom watering also worked well here with big pots.

SIPs take the worry away. While its still possible to overwater its much more forgiving than pots. And with enough time in veg the plant will catch up. Havent seen a plant outgrow a SIP yet but im sure it can be done. If you look at the top layer in the pic above its fresh castings. Also pretty moist to have gone 10 days without water. SIPs simplify organics. Automatic watering is the newest wave in the green rush for a reason. Water and air baby. SIPs offer both easily. There’s an air layer between the water level and the soil. Pumice rice hulls perlite hydroton biochar and worms all help aereate the soil. Organic material at 20% or less is the newest science. These SIPs here are prolly closer to 40%. No problem as long as things are moving. The ability to mound is unmatched. Feeder roots and drinking roots naturally separated. Would not go more than 2-3 runs in a SIP before readjustng. Itd be all EWC. Love the portability of the store bought SIP. Sit in a chair and spin it like a lazy Susan. City Pickers ftw. Haven’t grown in a bed yet. Big ass pots but no beds. SIPs are the best thing going for growing organics.

Edit forgot to mention how easy it is to trellis these SIPs individually. Stakes in corners and hang nets or build trellis with stakes. Still spins in the trellis.

make sure and get it all before storing, it will live on and spread until the plant is totally dead and dry. what ever you dont be smoking anything with mold or you WILL be going to the ER post hast.

This is my first grow after 10 year’s sabbatical (42 months in a lovely state funded resort due to stitchery after i wouldn’t give my ex’s junky sister and boyfriend a pound of weed (after they already Been snatching a zip almost 3x a week from my stash id leave at ex’s so she could sell abd whatnot. To trade ti Thier heroin dealer. They fucking literally followed through with Thier threat. ) anyway. Rant over.

But yes, i plan on saving soil in a bin, ill likely remammend with craft blend from bas, as tge minerals are still strong if not stronger after first grow.

BUT I may scrap this batch that Thier growing in due ti having fungus gnats infestation and what i had to do to eradicate them quickly

I have a method for fungus gnat that stomp’s em out in a week

First, shake plant, get em flying, they suck at flying, then i zap with neem, geraniol, and potassium fatty acids. Spray plants as well

GNATROL bti max strength drench.

Following watering, usually next Day, I get a bottle of neem spray ready, i quickly drench top of soil after tilling up the top 2".

When uts flooded the larve and pupea"ride the wave " abd float up above soil, that’s when i spray Thier asses with neem.

Then a bottom sub irrigation of full strength GNATROL bti.

Next watering, i do half strength bti. Also spray about 3-5 oz of neem spray.

Let that settle, then 2" layer of diatomaceous Earth, edge to edge.

Next waterings over the Next 5 day’s is bti

Finally after i see no adult’s (usually a week) ill vacuum up the diatomaceous Earth, top dress WITH bokashi, myco inoculant powder, ewc and appropriate dry fert.

Ill water that in and done deal

Next waterings will be with myco innoculation and tea’s as the initial post gnat inoc isn’t toó effective as they’re passing through neem sprayed top layer, ill Also bottom feed some Myco as well

Its a lil harder on plant in some ways, but its better than having them fucks eat my roots for a month

Wow. Thats intense. Mosquito Bits and sticky traps always got em 4 me inside. Another rsason SIPs shine is the cover. Always have a few but fungus gnats aint a problem in SIPs.

Always a few fuggus gnats?

Yup. Not a problem. Or a problem Im unaware of. When i fought em inside in pots it was to keep em from dying in buds. Heard about the larvae munching on roots. Well balanced soil with worms and biology covered. Try 1 SIP. Treat like a 15-20g pot. City Pickers gotta be on sale somewhere soon. Very hands off. Layer top dress then bokashi and Gnarly Barley. Cover. Depending on plant size up to 2 gallons water in res. LABS or em1 added to water.

My bad.

I gotta earth box and a city already outside used for veggies and fruit.

But i building sips from 5 and 7 gallons bucket’s for next run.

Unfortunately i have a serious phobia of worms, ill never use them, and i know how much better they make thing’s. I hate it. Im crippled with fear over worms.

But the sips, i got all the supplies, the float for control bucket, elbows, tubing, bucket’s.

7 Gallon bucket with 4" net pot wick. Stacked inside the 5 gallon that will act as its individual reservoir.

As im seriously running into a wall with constant watering. And these friggin"5 gallon nursery pots" are actually less than 5 gallon Media

Just like the 1 gallon pots, they’re actually 2.6 or 2.4 liters (phat half gallon) which fucked me

I don’t know why they do that crap with containers for plants, it’s like some extremely rough estimate

“Yeah that there’s looks to be arounds 5 gallons pots there’s, derp, derp”

@Couchlocked
First grows were in those 5s. About the same height as a 5g bucket but much thinner. Id guess less than 3g.

Im sorry for your worm situation. Thats fd up. Do you import other soil life? Nematodes in abundance wont allow a fungus gnat explosion. If using quality compost there’s probably some worms. Do you get rid of em? When taking the cover off CPs at least 3 worms are usually visible. I recently scooped up like 3 big double handfuls from the surface of the Hella Jelly SIP to cover seeds. Each scoop had at least 4 worms. My SIPs are kinda worm bins.

How many harvests have you had since the ten year sabbatical? Grow looks dialed in like a mf. Great looking plants. Hey please share a few pics here.

Found a little rot trimming Hella Jelly. Will go over the 2 jars again. Smelling great.

Chem D got a gallon yesterday and the 91 got 3/4g today. Possibly their last watering. Watching.

Outta the expensary. No more kids asking Indica Sativa or Hybrid? Blessings.

Learned to grow with bottles hang dry trim and sell. Nowadays substitute smoke for sell. Curing is something else. All the trimmed bud is back in bags except 1 jar of Communion. They were over 60%rh in jars. See what they do after work.

I did a volume test, i plugged the holes with gorilla tape, and filled it with gallons of water. It was almost exactly 4

There’s was like a gulp left after dumping the 4th milk jug

I use very diverse tea’s with ewc, insect frass and bokashi, mycos from different sources, exotic inputs for food sources like coconut water, aloe flakes, quillajura powder, molasses etc. i do an extra Long soil cook with organic powder Steel cut oats mixed in and bokashi. Like sits for 6-8+. months it gets an awesome fuzzy fungal layer ir whatever on top. I till that in, let it grow back again. Monthly this is done

This is literally my first grow since. This will be first harvest.

First Time with led, first time in a long time without very accurate CO2 enrichment, i used to run it 1150ppm with a 50-65 ppm swing at best. The Green Air products cdmc6, had fuzzy logic "learning"and I really got into c02 enrichment. Learning about it,etc. the problem why’ most people don’t see the benefits from it, And seem to say it’s only for big commercial grows because its realistically only’ capable of 3-6% increase in weight and that it can be detrimental to potency.

If you can keep it within 100ppm 9f setpoint, it’s definitely capable of 10-20/23%+ increase in yield with fine potency.

Stopping enrichment at 10-15 day’s before harvest is key. Obviously having everything else dialed in is critical to catching those gains .

But sorry for sidetrack. Yep first time in a long dang time.
