I think this is Day 71.
As I mentioned a few posts ago, Sweet Tai #3 is now jarred. Low yield, still not much terps presenting. We shall see.
Sweet Tai #1 was harvested on Sunday, I think. Dry trimmed it yesterday. Not what anyone would call dense buds, but much more substantial than Sweet Tai #3. Some good skunky smells, but mellow. I only bothered trimming the tops. Lots of popcorn buds on the lowers. I’d guesstimate maybe 2-2.5 ounces total, but it looks like half of that is pistols. It is not quite ready for jarring yet, but I needed the drying space.
I should mention, that yield is of only minor importance to me because I already grow way more than I can smoke, but I figure it is an interesting stat for those following along. Typically, I get 6-8 ounces in my 4x2 tent, but could probably do better if I went more intensive on the spacing and/or chose genetics based on yield.
Some Sweet Tai #1 about to be dry trimmed…
Sweet Tai #4 was chopped today. Nice dense buds with a astringent lemony smell reminiscent of cat piss. Of the three Sweet tai plants I’ve harvested so far, this is the one I’m actually excited to smoke.
And here is Sweet Tai #2. This is the (potential) All Star. She has a strong cat piss smell, lots of tops with dense buds, and has the most classic Thai/sativa look of the bunch. I’m going to give her a few more days.
Next up will be a clone of the Blue OG plant that I abused in one of the 16 oz cup grow challenges and some Mendo Cookies started from seed.
Numbers 2 and 4 really look like great buds…Brings back memories of the Thai Stick we use to get here in Toronto in the early 80s…Thanks for sharing the grow and bringing back some fond memories.
Thanks a lot man. That really means a lot to me coming from you. I’ve been impressed by your grows.
Lots of folks around here would be happy to have thai buds like yours in their garden. You did a great job with them…Look forward to following your next journey to…Thanks for the kind words its much appreciated.Have a great weekend and happy growing
I’ve got over 100 of these seeds left and I only need to keep maybe twenty for myself. The seeds are from 2013. I got 80-90% germination in Sept. 2020, so they should be good for a few more years.
If anyone would like some for free, just let me know.
