Yoga my friend! Did wonders for my back!

Yessir, time to hire landscapers!

@Rogue Iā€™ll have to look into that. I can barely move some days.

I second the yoga. I had lower back pain for 8 years. Docs told me to get used to a life on ibuprofen. I did yoga a few times and felt better quickly. I donā€™t go anymore, but I use the same stretches at home.

Yoga is like sports but doesnā€™t feel like sports. Itā€™s like passive sport. Improves blood circulation a great deal as well, improves the flow in lymphatic system, etc, so many benefits!
Just start off gently and with the most simple poses, itā€™s a funny feeling, itā€™s not really painful but it feels more like a great release of tension. Itā€™s quite intense in the beginning but itā€™s a kind of soothing intensity. Like yawning but with your entire body.
Cats and dogs do it too by instinct, thatā€™s how they stay so agile.

I havenā€™t gotten into yoga yet, need to, but Iā€™ve got a chiropractor who works wonders, love that guy. In my experience good hash is good for back and muscle pain. Get after it homie! BOM!

Sure, but in the end chiropractor and hash are temporary bandaids, yoga is more empowering and makes you more independent and strengthens your muscles, and itā€™s free! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Oh 100% couldnā€™t agree more, like I said I gotta jump in someday myself, but in the meantime the Chiro and hash plug the holes in the ship rather nicely :joy:

Dude, if you can bare the heat I recommend bikram/hot yoga. Just when you feel like you are going to die, they give you an ice cold lavender scented towel to cool off. You come out of the studio reborn! Itā€™s pretty fucking amazing! I had a bad snowboarding accident and busted up my knee pretty good. Hot yoga helped to heal that area of my knee within a few sessions.

The Sun Salutations is a good beginners place to start with yoga. Few easy postures to do with the suns rise and fall everyday. Keeps you limber, so you donā€™t shrivel up! Stretching is super crucial!

Damn Crunch, I took you for more of a goat yoga kind of guy, haha. Just kidding obviously but I have heard great things about hot yoga although have never tried it myself.

Definitely this for sure! When we do yoga, Sun Salutations is definitely always how we start (although itā€™s not always at sunrise or sunset, haha), follow that up with some Warrior poses and you are off to the races.

Iā€™m not sure that I could handle that heat! But yea man Iā€™ve got a back injury from snowboarding in college. I try to stretch regularly, just havenā€™t really tried yoga beyond a few poses, I should look into some kind of beginner course

Thanks @Rogue ! Iā€™ve tried stretches from video a few times and I feel like I need to go to a class so an instructor can show me the right way at least once so Iā€™m doing things right and not making things worse, I need to just bite the bullet already

Yes, I agree, yoga for the win. But there are many misconceptions about yoga. It can be intimidating with all the tuff posesā€¦etcā€¦

I have learned, I really only need 3 or 4 of the most simple stretches to aid my ails.

Twisted upside down farting dog, is not my thing. Keep it simple, it is truly liberating .

Take a class or two, then just do your fav poses at home :footprints:

Yea thatā€™s kinda how I figured Iā€™d do it, take a class learn stuff right and then just continue in at home

Before this thread gets back on track Iā€™m going to offer something that isnā€™t yoga:
https://painacademy.net/

When I started working as a massage therapist, my body got fucked up in a hurry. At the time there was a 3 month trial for this program, I did it every day, and within a few weeks I was feeling way better.
It isnā€™t stretching, and itā€™s not a workout, itā€™s pure postural and musculoskeletal rebalancing, and it is extremely effective (I recommend it to most of my clients) for people who have experienced long term physical pain.
Edit: the price is pretty steep, but itā€™s also a lifetime membership with a lot of live engagement

are my threads ever on track??

Looking good! Mine are in jars now doing the burping game. Had a couple samples so far but nothing to report yet. Well see how the next two weeks go.

Back pain sucks. I deal with it. And I really want to get out of my line of work but havenā€™t found anything worth jumping ship for yet. My advice I give people is to find out what positions make the pain show up, and avoid getting into those situations. Keep your back straight, good posture and donā€™t stay in the same position for more than 30 mins.

Going on walks in the neighborhood or nature really helped me the most. That and trying to keep good posture. I also sit slouched and shoulders rolling over which Iā€™m trying to correct. Getting old sucks!! At least we have legal weed now to help out

Iā€™m also hanging out for you to start the KNF thread again
