check out any landscapping suppliers thats where i found pumice a cubic yard for 80 bucks but a quarrie might find what you are looking for if you are willing to take a sludge hammer they have red lava rock at home depots or lowes that works good as a airation ammendment

I recall reading a post from Coot, years ago on grasscity, where he basically said,”Basalt, granite, azomite, whatever.” Pretty much. So yeah, I think granite would be fine. Pulverized as an amendment and larger-sized as a substitute for pumice/aeration/etc.

Right? I mean when your selling it, you don’t want to ship granite in your soil, totally get that. But I’m not in that market, or at least yet lol.

Ummmm, I don’t think he was talking about shipping rates or anything, so much as he was just saying that you want some form of mineralization happening in your soil mix. Seemed to me like he was saying whatever your source of rock dust was, it didn’t really matter, to a degree. But they all work well enough. I remember there being some kind of weirdness with the azomite, like maybe it was a little heavy in the metals? I don’t remember exactly, but yeah, I think granite’s all good.

I was just saying that is why you don’t see it in bagged soil, not because of the quality but because of the shipping cost .

You haven’t missed anything yet. Just getting a 4x8 flower tent setup in my shed. She’s 8’ tall and wouldn’t fit if it was 1” taller. I was hoping to have just a smidge more room on the sides to get behind it, but I can still make it if I keep my gut the size it is now.
My earthbox is peeking out on my “test run” out here. Emergency relocation after she blasted past the lights in my smaller tent at day 13 of flower. I still seem to underestimate the earthboxes.
Couple days before relocating it to the shed….
