Crystals and stones have been used for thousands of years for their healing and protective energies. They are not only good for us, they are good for our plants! You can wear them when you garden and or place them partially or fully buried in the soil. They can enhance nutrient absorption, act as fertilizer, strengthen roots, heal and reduce stress, repel those nasty pests, and more…and of course they are beautiful!
Here are some common stones/crystals and a few of the ways they can help in the garden. Of course this is not an all inclusive list, of either stone or benefits. Also, sometimes it can seem overwhelming to find the right stone, the more you learn the more complicated it gets. Remember, it’s ok to just pick one that calls to you or ones that you find visually pleasing…in the end any crystal can be beneficial to have around!
Amethyst: plant purity; boost root growth when placed partially in the soil
Aquamarine: keeps plants from stress and protects against pollutions
Citrine: Very common, and great for vitamin D. This crystal is very energizing and enhances production. Promotes happiness and dispels negativity and toxins.
Clear quartz: Known for holistic healing and high vibrations/ energy, this crystal stimulates growth while promoting healing and fertile soil
Green aventurine: This stone helps connect us and plants to our earthly energy while it absorbs negativity and calms stress. Aid in plantings and helps reduce transplant shock.
Green Calcite: absorbs negative energy and helps remove bacteria
Green Jasper: helps develop lush leafy growth
Jasper: Promotes new growth
Malachite: Promotes new growth and transformation; fertility and abundance.
Moonstone: Often worn by gardeners, this crystal is good from seed through bountiful blooms. Bury in the middle of the garden for deep root growth and balance. It helps provide a good foundation for water and nutrient uptake. Fertility, health, peace, relaxation.
Moss agate AKA Gardener’s stone: Commonly worn by gardeners, this stone increases fertility and overall vigor. Make flowers more fragrant. Who doesn’t love to stop and smell the flowers?
Onyx and obsidian: Dark stones such as these are thought to confuse and repel pests
Peridot: directs plant growth, increase production of fruits and veggies
Pyrite: stamina and clarity
Rhyolite: energy of fortitude, perseverance, and balance
Rose Quartz: Positive loving power. Let your plants feel the love and they will return that love tenfold.
Tiger’s eye: Strong root growth, harmony, protection, abundance, and overall garden success
Tourmaline: Healing, especially to sick and slow growing plants
Root growth: Quartz, Amethyst, Sodalite, Aventurine, Moonstone, Tiger’s eye
