Your good brother. At 18” I would start bringing the light a little closer. You will know it when you hit the sweet spot. I think even as close as 12 inches you would be okay. Keep in mind the design of the light too if you get really close you get a boatload of light to the middle of the canopy but the outside edges may suffer. Thats why I say sweet spot. It will be where you get maximum light spread and maximum penetration.

I dont mean to drop the light to 12”. I am saying if eventually you got that close you would not burn them with light. I would take them to about 16” for a couple days and see how they react.

Big mike is giving you good info to start from. The one thing I would add is, that light intensity will give you problems before the heat will if the plants grow too close to the leds.
I’m I’m sitting here worrying about u having different lights and all 3 of us got lights from the ts line. What are the odds.

They are gaining weight. In fact a couple branches were getting to the point where I was getting scared they would break at the stem. I got some twine and tied them up. I figure still 2 weeks out.

Thanks guys but I copied part of it from someone else. I think it will work good when I put the Monstercropped girls in flower. They are ready but I still have a couple weeks in the flower tent with Blue Cookies. Then I need to clean the tent out real good. So a couple three weeks. I did a haircut on the Monstercropped girls Tonite. They were getting out of control. I will post pics later. Also started training my Grape Cookies (donated, ha!) Hope I get a boy and a girl and make seed if anything special.

What size are your squares on your scrog net? I’ve still never run one.

3" squares. I also weaved the line over and under to add a little strength to each square.
One thing I would change is the overall size. My tent is 4 X 4. I made the SCROG 3 X 3. I should have gone 3.5 X 3.5 feet. But this will work I think.

I had weaved my first one. My second one I didn’t because when your trying to stretch a tight branch though the next hole sometimes it’s easier to lift up an entire line to get the branch under. Just something to play around with

Maybe weave every two. That might help to give a little but not to much.

Pros and cons. Depends, too, on what is the mission. I am more concerned with heavy branches bending to the breaking point or toppling the plant. If the main goal is for training to a flat canopy, then you would probably want looser string to actually manipulate branches. Good point.
@ReikoX has a nice setup that I would have made if I had not already done this one. His is similar to this but he has the ability to stack another SCROG on top, it’s a beautiful thing.
