BigMike55’s Ongoing Cannabis Log (Part 2)

Ahhh. The ol’ upper+downer tactic. Classic!
I haven’t smoked in almost twenty years, and back then I wasn’t particularly concerned with what I was smoking (mostly mexican dirt weed), so my knowledge on all this stuff is limited to what I’ve gleaned over the last six months or so since my first grow. Reading tons of books, reading articles and whatnot on the internet, whatever I can find. I’ve ran across that name Mr. Nice several times and from what I can recall, he’s pretty prolific on the breeding/growing sides of things? I’m sure his strains are incredible! Just placed a bean order with Johnny, including the Sheelavathi, so I’ll have some seeds sitting here if I ever feel brave enough to give it a shot!

@MoBilly This is a quote from Mike’s first log. Obviously couldn’t really quote you since the thread is closed. I also have only made it 3500 or so posts through so not sure if anyone gave you an answer to it yet. Anyways, here is the answer just in case.

“I’ve also wondered why the moon and stars don’t cause every outside pot plant to hermi since we have to block every single spot of light in our rooms. It just doesn’t add up to me.”

Brief synopsis so you don’t actually have to watch the whole video (although it is a good one). Even though a full moon is bright as shit, it really isn’t that bright.

Nope, you won’t see results in a few days. But in a few weeks you will. I know it’s frustrating putting the time and effort into this type of genetics.
Just be patient and keep up the good work and
you will see results, it will happen fast and strong once it starts.
I have faith in you bro you can do this………

Oh there ain’t no way in hell I’m throwing in the towel just yet. Way too much time invested in her. Just getting antsy on the wait. But wait, I will. It shouldn’t be more than four or five weeks left.
Thanks for all your help and encouragement. Means a lot to me.

Hi BigMike,

I just caught up on your Part 2 thread and it made me remember my own “Forever” indoor grow of Acapulco Gold! She went 17 weeks of flower before finally delivering red pistils and some cloudy trichs.

In the end I had to re-hang my lights vertically to get some photons down to the lowers and reduce daylight hours to 11/13. I also had an “accidental” pollination when a sneaky White Widow male spewed dust on the lower branches. So I’m reliving the frustration through your posts. lol

The good news is that it was worth the wait. The buds were airy but plentiful and once they cured the smoke was unique enough to make me glad I waited it out till the finish line.

Best of luck as your grow plays out,
-Grouchy :v: :green_heart:

You ever have to deal with your Mom or Grandmother when they get to the point that they need mindin’ ? The more she was used to running the show , the harder that row is to hoe . She’ll fight tooth n nail , until she’s ready to fold . And like others have said it’ll happen just like you flipped a switch . Until she starts swellin’ up & droppin’ leaves she aint close . Long flowering sativas are like old ladies they’re gonna take their sweetass time .

Did I not put a sack of pollen in there too?

Ok had me worried. I sent out the last bit of pollen this morning. So there ain’t no more.
It is not cut by the way. The extra stuff in there was as from the flowers. My pollen shaker has too big of screen. There’s plenty of magic dust in there tho.

So I thinned out my veg tent this morning. And gave everyone a nice drink of nutes.

And if my cat don’t quit chewing on my clones, we’ll be burying a cat in the back yard. Little fucker.

Three of mine will fuck stuff up, so not allowed in the tent. The hair (from my profile motto) is from the fourth. He’s awesome as is allowed to walk around in there while I’m doing stuff.

My Rascal loves to be in the grows… but doesn’t touch any plants. Strange cat, but cool!
