Looking like you will have your hands full for sure and everything is looking great! That Imperial Majesty #2 really surprised me, guess she’s a grower and not a show-er… And those damn Dread Breads, they take forever to show sex for me outdoors and I have only had males thus far but I may just plant the squat OMG looking one (and damn they do have some fat meristems) into a 25 gallon bag and cross my fingers for a female. Excited for the variety in your grow and all the entertaining antics that come along with it!

Yeah, that was one that I was really kinda waiting for. Ended up buying three packs, which is good, because I just glanced in the veg tent and it looks like at least one of them is a male. It also looks like it might be autoflowering, too, because I saw, like, the beginnings of full-on male flowers, not preflowers. I’m not really sure what’s going on in that tent, especially because those Sour Diesel x DE’s are the youngest out of all of the plants, I think they’re only like 50 or 52 days old at this point. I even checked the timer to see if maybe I’d fucked up and accidentally set it on 12/12 or something, but I didn’t, so… Yeah, I don’t know what’s going on.
The thing that would make me apprehensive about f2’ing the Dread Bread is the very real possibility of ending up with a straight Mango Biche-type plant that gets huge and takes forever to finish. Or I dunno, maybe “apprehensive” isn’t the right word. I grow shit that gets huge and has the potential to take forever to finish all the time haha. But yeah, that’d definitely be something to take into consideration. I never make seeds, though (or not intentionally, anyway haha), really oughta start doing that.
Do it now, dude! I think he said he was gonna stop taking orders the third week in July. It also sounds like he’s just getting rid of everything as fast as he can. I noticed on the Doc D thread, people saying shit like,”Yeah, I ordered five packs and he included SEVEN freebie packs!” haha. There might not be a whole lot left by the time you place your order.

Haha, yeah, I did, too until recently. I loved them when I was a kid; that first album is fucking great. Stephen Perkins has to be considered one of the top-five greatest rock drummers of all time. Or I consider him one of the top five, anyway haha.
That’s what I’d do. I mean, shit, I actually do that all the time haha. I dunno what it is, because up until about a year-and-a-half or two years ago, my plants would routinely start preflowering by day 42 at the very latest, but lately it’s taking as long as like 55 days. A lot of times I don’t even know the sex when I transplant them into their flowering containers, but it has to be done. I don’t want them sitting in those half-gallons forever. I mean, shit, I just did that with those younger plants and now they’re all going apeshit on me, fucking autoflowering and shit. Really annoying haha.

Everything looking great though… interesting on the auto flowering stuff. I’ve seen it happen with males before, usually they show their sex before the females, but sounds like your’s went into full on sac producing mode.
The one Blueberry x Silver Lotus female is showing the blueberry shaped leaves for sure. Hopefully you’ll get a Blueberry leaner. Everything else is looking great though. I’d probably just throw the other auto flowering plants in the tent a let them ride, hopefully they’ll stretch with shorter light cycle and get some height to them. I’m definitely keeping an eye on those DE crosses, thinking about popping some of those soon…

Growing out some Booty F2 right now and a few just dropped sacs all over under 20hrs light, with a small clone light on 24hrs adjacent. Around day 40 from seed color me surprised!

Sweet, good to know. She’s (I think it’s a she, anyway) vegging pretty slowly, definitely smaller than everything else. If I recall correctly, didn’t your Blueberry plant veg really slowly, too?
I hope she’s a Blueberry-leaner, anyway. I’m much more interested in that side of the cross than I am the Silver Lotus side. But I’ll take either haha.
Yeah, that’s the plan, gonna do that today. It kinda sucks that, you know, those plants aren’t gonna be, like, the most accurate representation of those genetics or whatever, but I’m not sure what else I could do at this point. Throw ‘em in the flower tent and let ‘em ride, I guess haha.

I really wanted that Black Lime Reserve x DE when he first released those, whenever that was, a month or two ago. And then some dickhead on the East Coast bought, like, all of them before us West Coast folk had even woken up haha. Those were available on the most recent list again, but I dunno, for some reason I was just like,”Fuck it…” and didn’t grab any. Didn’t grab anything, actually. I’m pretty well-stocked up on seeds, but there were definitely a few things that gave me pause. That Black Lime one sounds good.
Yeah, but I reeeeealllllyyyyy didn’t like Black Triangle when I grew that last year. And the DE-leaner from that last grow of the C. Gold x DE was my least-favorite weed of all the plants from that round. I haven’t even touched that one in weeks, actually haha. It is super-fucking-strong, though, I’ll give it that.
I woulda figured you’d be all over the more “Sativa”-type shit, the A5Thai crosses and stuff. That’s what I’ve been grabbing the most of, tried to get as many as I could after he announced he was shutting it down. I’m pretty comfortable with where I’m at on those haha. And the Malawi Gold x DE, any of those sorta “exotic” genetics crossed with the DE, grabbed some of those, too. Those other ones, like the crosses with genetics that’re all over the place already, never really interested me. I figure those will all be around in some way, shape or form for the foreseeable future, if I ever get interested in growing them. I doubt I will, though haha.
Yep, got a couple packs of those when he first released them. I actually planted four of those a while back, last grow. Only one sprouted and then it fizzled out after a few weeks, quit growing. Two more sprouted after I threw the soil back into my bins, though haha. Went into the garage to do my little “make sure the soil’s moist” thing and noticed that there was something growing in the bin haha. Didn’t try to save it, though.
They have reeeeeallllyyyyy thick shells or husks or whatever you call them; I’d definitely soak those if you don’t already do that.
Got a couple packs of those, too. I’m super-stoked about that cross, although I’m not sure when exactly I’m gonna plant some. Sounds real good, though.
I wasn’t excited at all about the Sensi Star crosses, but anything with Sour Diesel in it should turn out awesome. I just don’t like Sensi Star at all haha.

Terps were okayyyy… by the end they were falling all over one another… I had some friends that enjoyed it — but overall forgettable smoke IMO
Yup that’s kind of the beauty of true F2s - you get to see the whole gamut of possibilities. OMG structure with 100% mangobiche effects /terps, or vice versa and all the ways in-between. Might take more selection but probably some very unique plants.
Yeah, she is a slow veg and low stretch plant. I’ve got one coming back out of flower and re-vegging and she’s taking foooorever. But once she’s established and switches to flower, she bulks up pretty quick and finishes fast. Super strong berry smell - everyone that smells it says that it reminds them of 90s weed, haha!
Yeah, I’ve just been so impressed with the Skycuddler Kush I grew last round; it’s sooooo fucking tasty, nice and stony, too. That one really made me be like,”Okay, I’m officially interested in meangene’s gear,” haha. But I’m not interested in paying $300 for a fucking pack of seeds, so the Black Lime/DE sounded like the next-best thing. I dunno why I haven’t grabbed any of those yet. I’ve got a couple packs of the Black Lime/WHP already, actually almost planted some of those this run, but I went with the Dread Bread instead (totally different, I know haha). I’ll get around to them at some point.
Hahaha, no no no, nothing like that. It’s just straight-up “dick in the dirt” weed. Like, I smoke some and I’m fucking DONE. It’s maybe too strong? But, like, not even good for going to bed, though, either, because it doesn’t make me sleepy, exactly. I can’t explain it; I just don’t like it. It also doesn’t mix well with alcohol at all and that’s important to me haha. I dunno. I just don’t like it. Every time I’ve smoked it, all I can think is,”I wish I woulda smoked something else…” haha.
Maybe it’s just because those Bandaid Haze/A5Thais and the Soar and the Skycuddler and the other C. Gold x DE turned out so gawddamn good that it’s affecting my opinion of it. But yeah, I haven’t touched that one in a whiiiiile.
Still, I dunno. I really love those Bandaid Haze/A5Thais, all four of them. They all smoke almost exactly the same, but that’s not a bad thing. I dunno. I think that that A5Thai male is maybe probably a very, very good male and one that I wanna have as many crosses of as I can. It’s something that, if I ever made seeds, I’d use crosses of that male to make seeds with. Or whatever.
I agree. And a lot of my friends really dug it, too. Although I will say that the one friend of mine who’s opinion I trust the most, the dude I always give nugs to after every harvest to hear what he thinks, also didn’t like the Black Triangle. He wasn’t as “anti-Black Triangle” as I am haha, but he was just, like,”Eh…”
Yeah, I actually never posted a smoke report for the Black Triangle in that log, either, which is really all anybody needs to know, I think. It just didn’t even seem worth spending time writing about.

Just sprouted some Sundance (Lemon Thai (Indy) x Wookie) and I got shitty germination rates, made me think my heat mat was screwed up (which still may be the case) so I got another one and am germinating more beans (Herer HP) to go along with the 5 that sprouted… Although one did fizzle out and die and another is still hanging on that just looks weird and frizzle fried, so I may just have 3 after popping 9 total.
Did you soak them? For real, I never soaked any seeds until like a grow-and-a-half ago, usually just planted them straight into the soil. But I’ve gotten such good germination rates from a little fulvic soak (one tablespoon of fulvic and 1/3 gallon of clean water for between 12 and 24 hours) that I never won’t not soak again. I put the shot glasses on a heating mat thing and then put the pots I plant the seeds in on the same heating mat in a tray with a dome on it. Then I just put the seedlings under the lights. Once it’s “lights off,” I put a dome on the tray for the duration of “lights off” and remove the dome once it’s “lights on” etc etc. Seems to work really well.
Except for those seedlings that fried up on day 17 haha! So, yeah, don’t listen to me haha. I really do think they fried because of the soil mix, though, didn’t have anything to do with the lights or anything. The replacement seeds, which were planted in just my old mix, all turned out fine. Except for the autoflowering haha.
I did soak them but maybe they didn’t absorb as much water as they should have? I germinate seeds the same way as you and normally always get near 100% germ rates until recently, the round of seeds I started for outdoors were 10 out of 14 and the Sundance which was 3 out of 9. It made me think, what the hell is different or am I doing differently? Guess we shall see with the new ones I just popped.
If you still want the Black Lime Reserve x DE, I’m pretty sure Doc D had plenty of them in the restock. Or he at least had enough to send a bonus pack of them along with my July order.
Looking forward to seeing Dread Bread flowered out indoor. Seems like most of the flower pics I’ve seen of it have been outdoor.
Yeah, I saw he restocked them. I dunno. I just don’t want any more seeds right now. If they were available when I placed my last order (which was the May email), I woulda gotten some. I mean, I did order them, but when Doc got back to me he said they were already gone.
I should mention that I sent that order at 8am PST on May 1. So, yeah, fuck those East Coast motherfuckers haha. And all of you early risers on the West Coast. And I guess the Midwest motherfuckers like you, too, Smacky haha.
Anyway, yeah, I’m so fucking loaded up on seeds that I’m just kind of over it. I’ve mentioned this to a few people before, but at my current rate of three grows a year, around thirty seeds planted every grow, it’s gonna take me about fifty years to grow everything I have. Literally, fifty years. I actually counted everything on my list and did the math a while back haha… I can’t justify buying anything else right now.
A lot of the seeds I soaked this round were already sprouting tails in the water after only about twelve hours. Like, I put them in shot glasses around 9pm and by the time I got out of bed in the morning, around 7 or 8am, they already had the ever-so-slightest bit of tail poking out, which shocked me. Do you add fulvic to the water or do you just use, uh, water? Haha. I think the fulvic maybe makes a big difference.
