Damn, the plants look great dude!!!

I have not seen nor heard of that movie. But I’ll be sure to watch it soon. Looks right up my alley.

You’ll probably have to buy it from fucking Amazon or something, but it’s worth it. I looked for it for years on streaming services and cable tv and shit and it was never available for free, to the point where I was starting to get all weird, bitching to my girl like,”I’m sick of these gawddamn streaming services dictating to us what we can and can’t watch! Fuck this! I’m buying My Own Private Idaho!” haha.

You wouldn’t think it would be such a good movie, considering Keanu Reeves and River Phoenix are in it, but it’s fucking awesome. There’s a scene where they get picked up by some German dude that’s HILARIOUS. I won’t spoil it for you, but it’s funny as shit.

hell yeah damn i didn’t realize what that cross was, should be good, nice new grow bro. Yo next time maybe pop some feminized seeds… just joking! just joking!

? Lol Those two being in it mean I’m definitely gonna go find it now as I don’t think I’ve seen it either!

Plants looking great over there! That sour d does have the right flower shape imo. Hopefully you finally get one with the flavor

Garden looking good! Nice job. It’s a shame you didn’t have more females to choose from, but hopefully you got that sorted for the next round…

The Nikah sounds incredible. I wasn’t a fan of one of the two OMG crosses I tested (lemon diesel x) but Nikah has had great reports and makes me wish I had grabbed it. Can’t wait to see how that turns out for you…even with the super small sample size.

I would definitely defoliate the bottom third of those plants, just completely remove everything except for the big fan leaves. None of mine were extra leafy, and I have not found bushy/leafiness to be a trait of any appy crosses I or friends have ran.

Your PV#2 looks like it leans towards the mom#2 or #4 (HPK leaners), and your PV#5 looks like it leans towards mom#7 (clementine appy leaner, didn’t drink nearly as much as the other F1 moms) cuz I think I see a little variegation on some of the older leaves. Could just be a trick of the light, and it’s too early to tell anyway. Were either of them finicky?

Yeah, TK x OMG. I already mentioned this, but for the first couple weeks it REEKED of rotten tropical fruit, very similar to Bodhi’s Apollo 11 f4’s, which surprised me. Now she stinks like anise and maybe a little bit of permanent marker? Wintergreen? Haha, I dunno, but she’s totally overwhelming everything. I take the plants out one at a time, obviously, when I water; last night I watered the Santa Cruz Pure Haze cross last and when I did, I was like,”Wait, I know this smell. It’s so familiar to me…” Then I realized I was just smelling the Nikah that was sitting on the table a few plants over haha.

It’s not a comedy per se, it’s actually kind of dark, but there are for sure some super-funny scenes in it. And I like dark movies anyway. Maybe it’d be considered a “dark comedy,” I dunno haha.

I agree, but I’m trying not to get my hopes up haha… She took a whiiiiiiile to get into “flower mode” once I flipped, maybe like two weeks before any flowers started forming at all. I’m hoping that’s a good sign.

Yeah, the #2 is noticeably shorter than the #5; I dunno if her being shorter is indicative of being an HPK-leaner or what, but it’s something I’ve noticed for sure.

Interesting about the Appy-leaner not drinking as much, too. When I was watering last night, one of their pots was for sure lighter than the other (although neither was as light as the other plants), but I can’t remember now which one it was. Since I always move the pots around, I just assume that whatever plants were in the back of the tent most recently are gonna drink more than the ones in the front of the tent, simply because I leave the tent door open during lights on and all. You know, cooler in the front, hotter in the back, whatever. But I’ll try to remember to see if the #2 is drinking more than the #5 no matter where they’ve been on any given 48-hour light cycle.

No, not at all. They’re, like, the healthiest-looking plants in the tent haha. I’ve been pulling leaves off of the Malibu Pure cross and the Santa Cruz Haze and Nikah plants every time I water, but the two Pura Vida f2’s (and the Sour cross) are totally dark green and very, uh, stout haha. Almost rigid haha!

It’s a trick of the light. There’s absolutely no variegation happening at all. Just my shitty-ass photographic skills making things look weird haha…

Halfway through taking pics last night, I was like,”Wait! I should use the outside of the tents as the background! The black will really help with the flash and shit!” but then I was just like,”Nah… Never mind…” haha. Maybe I’ll do that next time I take pics… Using the outside of the tents as a background involves, like, zipping them up to take the pics, then opening them again to take out the next plant, moving pots from the table I water them on back to the front of the tent to take pics and shit… It’s a hassle haha.

Really? I fucking LOVE the way those OMG crosses grow. And the high ain’t bad, either haha. For real, though, like one of the main reasons I wanna get a job now is just so I can scoop up every OMG cross I can find. I love that male. I mean, yeah, it seems like (so far, anyway) that you’re for sure gonna find some what I’m assuming are OMG-dominant plants, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing.

What was the other OMG cross you tested? Besides the Lemon Diesel one, I mean. Where’d you log those tester reports? Breedbay? I wanna check them out.

The one OMG cross ive tried has been great too. Madre azul - Omg leaning pheno - lemony with herbal flavor. The high is interesting - euphoric creeper, kind of sneaks up on you. Its a unique high - reminds me of some highs from high school ha.

I’m not sure “high school-type high” is a bad thing haha. In fact, I’m, like, constantly on the lookout for weed that makes me feel the way the weed I was blazing in high school made me feel.

I remember the first time I blazed kind bud, freshman year of high school, 1990 I think? I was friends with a senior (yeah, I’m friends with seniors, I’m cool as fuck haha…) and we skipped school one day and went to his place (or his mom’s place, I guess haha). His older brother who went to Oberlin busted out a bag and we blazed some.

Try to remember your first time smoking anything other than Mexi Brick haha…

Anyway, that was the first time I ever heard about, like, “ceilings” and shit, first time I ever heard about,”Yeah, this weed’s good, but it doesn’t get me higher the more I smoke…” Personally, I was high as FUCK, but the older Oberlin brother was actually talking about returning it to the dealer and getting his money back haha.

This was in Florida in fucking 1990 haha; I’d never heard of anybody talking about returning weed haha! Never heard about a ceiling, either. I thought the weed was gawddamn goooooood.

Anyway… Yeah, I like those OMG crosses haha! Er, I mean, I don’t like them at all. They suck. Nobody should buy any of them haha…

Ha yup! Its a compliment of the high for sure! Feel good laughing stones that creep up and overwhelm ya after 20min!

The 2 I miss from my So. Fla childhood are the reds both Panama & Columbian . Tasted like Red Leb hash ( the kind that came in the 500g cloth sacks ) , smoke expanded in your lungs ( if you were a piggy you’d cough yer head off ) , the creeper high . Grin on face couldn’t remove with a grinder , eye lids @ razor blade clearence , non-stop giggle fest & the blind munchies . Last time I saw them was in the Bay area ( CA ) around 1979…

I agree, it keeps me sane. I was thinking yesterday while I was mixing up soil and cleaning shit, all the tents, pots, you know the ‘manual labor’ of growing, how much I appreciate doing stuff like that. It’s probably not the most FUN part of growing, but for me it always feels like a fresh start. Some people probably hate that part, but I feel like it’s the beginning of a road trip when you’re prepping everything to make sure you’ve got what you need, planning your stops and route, hoping for some cool adventure along the way… It’s continually exciting for me, knowing that I could fuck up, or I could nail it with each round keeps me coming back for more. Plus, there’s so many exciting and unique things about each plant… yeah, I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t grow.

Plants are lookin’ great man, really like how chunky the Nikah is looking… stacked! Everything actually looking stacked, the PVs looking super healthy. Not sure how you managed to get that Lemon Thai outta the tent, usually when they get that tall and lanky, they stay put in my tent!

Yeah, that’s a little before my time haha. I mean, I was alive then, but I was only four haha! Always wished I coulda tried those old “classics,” though. I’ve grown some of those hybrids before, but who knows how legit the Mexican and Central/South American parent plants are?

We’ll see how that Santa Cruz Pure Haze hybrid turns out. I really liked the C. Gold cross I grew last year, still have a few jars of it in the closet, actually, I should get back into those…

Yeah, I bitch about it sometimes, like,”Ugghhhh, I gotta water tonight…” but it’s mostly just a front haha. I really do love it, love everything about it, even scrubbing out my pots after I transplant and shit haha. It’s a privilege. And a right.

A friend of mine and her now ex-husband got busted up north with 300 plants like fifteen years ago, so they moved down here. One of the conditions of their probation was that they couldn’t grow, but after a couple years, he started growing anyway (one of the reasons why she divorced him)(the other being that he was just a douchebag haha). She and I would talk about it while it was happening and I was always like,”Yeah, he’s fucking up. Still, though… I get it…” haha.

Once you get that bug, it’s hard to quit it. I actually think it’d be doubly difficult if somebody was telling me I wasn’t allowed to grow. That’d really piss me off haha.

I make a concerted effort to only lift the pot high enough to get it out of the tent. Doesn’t always work out haha, I’m frequently scraping that plant across the top of the tent.

Lights just turned on, they’re all starting to leeeeeean, noticed it last night when I watered, actually. I think I’ll stake them tomorrow, which won’t make it any easier to get them outta the tents haha…

I’m guessing that’s where she ends up in jars, too. That’s the profile I got out of my OMG leaners. Yeah, I had two tester reports on Breedbay - lemon diesel x omg and kush 4 x omg, both of which were unstable but the k4 was by far the better smoke, just not stable, even from clone. Coincidentally, I and a few others thought all our OMG testers were leafy, but you thought my PV run was extra leafy. Funny stuff. :joy:

I think I got your PVF2 mixed up. I thought the #2 was the taller of the two. The taller PVs are the ones that lean towards the HPK, and the shorter ones lean more Appy, but who knows what crazy combos you’ll get in the F2. Hopefully something like what @iamyou_youareme found: Tents full of happiness and love ft. Bodhi and friends - #326 by iamyou_youareme. Glad they’re easy going and not variegated.

Now you’re the senior! We’ll have to get you the geriatric stroller pretty soon. :older_woman:

Same. I’ve been intoxicated with growing from the moment I was introduced to it. I wish I could just grow weed to give away without needing to have a job. I don’t want to grow weed for money, or sell seeds or clones or anything, but I wish I had the time and space to dedicate to it. The only time I complain about it is when I have to squeeze in time for growing between all the other aspects of life. Family visits have kept me from flowering anything for 5 or 6 months and I’m getting antsy since I won’t be able to flower anything for another couple/few months…

In the meantime, I’ll just live vicariously through you lovely folks…

Transplanting is my biggest growing peeve. I look at the plants or rooted clones and usually for a good week or so, I’m like “I gotta transplant them, they’re starting to really need it….tomorrow’s the day.”

I think it’s mostly because I don’t have a good spot for doing that sort of work and I hate that transplanting is such a messy task, where once it’s done there’s almost as much time spent in cleanup.

I keep saying I’m going to make a potting bench like this one, but then I end up using the top of the washer or crawling around on the floor like a dick haha.

One of the beauties of crawlspace gardening… it’s got a dirt floor

Exactly. And inevitably whatever medium I’m using ends up in the washing machine (top load) and I get an earful from the wife.

Um, I’m not so sure about that with the Nikah. The majority of the OMG crosses I’ve grown have definitely ended up fruity-smelling, but one of my Smart Moves didn’t end up like that. And the way the Nikah’s smelling right now, with the anise and the permanent marker and stuff, I think it’s possible she doesn’t end up smelling fruity.

But I won’t be mad if she does haha.

I checked those out yesterday, totally have read those before, remembered as soon as I started reading the first posts haha. But I’m gonna re-read them later today, just because I like reading grow reports.

Fuck. You. Haha!

I’m definitely feeling a little old right now, though, for sure. This cold-ass weather is bringing me down; all I wanna do is stay under the covers and sleep until spring rolls around. I dunno how y’all motherfuckers in, like, Michigan and Colorado and wherever do it. Not sure we’ve ever had a consistently cold winter like we’re having this year. Usually, there’s at least a couple days of warm weather in between the cold weeks.

I just prep all the pots inside, set them on my dining room table and then take the pots I’m transplanting from out into the backyard one by one. Flip ‘em over, squeeze the plants out of the pots, grab them by the rootball and carry them upside-down back into the house and get them in the new pots. That way all the dirt just falls into the backyard or wherever. It took me like five years to figure out that method haha, used to do it inside and then had to sweep and sweep and sweep… The way I do it now is much cleaner haha. Faster, too, because I don’t have to worry about all the soil from the pots spilling out all over the dining room and kitchen and shit.
