Not sure my plants would much like a trip from their cozy 80F tent to the 32F backyard (or even the 45F garage) this time of year. I’m sure they’d turn purple in disgust.

Honestly the cold weather isn’t so bad…it’s the long strings of grey/cloudy/dark days that really takes it out of ya. I think we’ve had 1 day in the last 2 weeks (and like 2.5 cumulative days since Xmas) where we saw a significant amount of sun and/or blue sky. The rest have all been mostly cloudy & grey.

Nah, dude, the plants are outside for literally like eight seconds, just long enough for me to pick up the half-gallon veg pot outta the tray that’s sitting in the kitchen, walk outside, flip it over and squeeze the plant out. Then I walk back in and put it in the seven-gallon that already has the hole dug in it. I dunno if it takes eight seconds even (I’ve never timed it haha…), probably takes less than that. It’s super-easy.

I just can’t believe that it took me like five years to figure out the process haha. “What a dumbass…”

I knoooooow, dude. It rained here for like two weeks straight, only got sunny again two days ago, never seen anything like it in LA. For the first couple days, me and my girl were like,”Oh, how cool! What a nice change of pace! It’s so cozy!” but after five days or so, we were both like,”What the FUCK is going ON??? What’s the DEAL with this weather?!?” haha.

During all that rain, I kept wondering, like,”How did I live in Portland for four years?” but then I remembered that I just drank tons of Wild Turkey and smoked crack and did meth all the time. Seems like that stuff keeps you warm and happy… haha.

A little perspective on winter weather helps, a little taste of a dark New England winter with frigid temps will make you appreciate a grey California week i’d bet. Lots of people just take to proper hibernation, that’s how all those New England farms ended up with so many kids: a byproduct of 5 months of inhospitable weather outside :joy::joy: not much to do but hang out in bed with your lady. But it sounds like you’ve lived a life dude and have more perspective than most, I know that the folks that move here from the PNW frequently find themselves arguing about which coasts winter is tougher. Jury is still out I think depending on who you ask

One of the most annoying things anybody can say is when somebody goes,”45 degrees? Hah! Try living in Montana!” or wherever. That really is, like, one of my biggest pet peeves. I mean, yeah, 45 degrees isn’t as cold as negative-10 or whatever, obviously, but it’s still fucking cold. 45 degrees is cold. So is negative-20.

Nobody’s going swimming right now haha. If you can’t go swimming, it’s cold, whether it’s 40 degrees or negative-30.

And I’ve been in New England in the middle of the winter, that’s where a majority of my family lives. I’ve been up there enough to know,”Fuck New England, I don’t ever wanna live here,” haha…

It’s an acquired taste for sure. As someone who likes the winter; snowboarding, ice fishing, sugaring etc. etc. there are even days when I’m like “alight, fuck this shit, let’s get back to summer” especially now, it’s been a terrible winter snow-wise, hard not to envy the west coast right now, not so much come fire season, but right now with Tahoe basically entirely under the snow, yea, enviable

It’s just like Florida . Both of us born here & you can’t stand it . I feel the same about CA from Monterey south . You might want prime rib & I want the yellowtail snapper & stone crab claws . I don’t care for cold , the panhandle is enough for me . Last 10 yrs of my working was up on the Lakes . That’s cold especially for the Myjami Kid…

Thanks. This was a joy to say.

Why not all three? Is there some sorta directive that snapper and crab claws have to be eaten separately from prime rib? I want all of that shit and all at once. Shoot it in my veins! Haha…

Nope. 45 here today. That’s hoodie weather. When it gets really cold is when the coats come out.

Dude, I’m not gonna lie… Right now I’m wearing a wife beater, a thermal, a flannel and a hoodie, along with some long johns and my thickest pair of sweatpants. And a beanie on my head haha! I look like a fool, totally said to my girl earlier today,”I’m gonna run up to the store real quick and I don’t care how I look,” haha.

I’m sooooo sick of being cold. Being cold fucking sucks. I’d so much rather just be sweating my ass off, if for no other reason than I can just jump in the pool or take a cold shower (or both) to alleviate the heat. And I realize that hot showers alleviates the cold, but at the same time, you gotta take your clothes off before you get in the shower haha. Just that, like, two-minute interlude between getting naked and getting in the shower is brutal.

I remember a discussion I had with an old co-worker of mine, Ulf, Swedish dude, talked constantly about how much he hated it when he lived in Sweden, and he would always say,”There is no worse feeling than being cold.” I agreed with him then and I agree with him now haha.

I’m ready for summer. Or even spring. Anything but this haha.

I think those of us who like winter are in the minority for sure. Almost everyone I encounter complains about winter locally. I wouldn’t want it winter 365 days a year but snowy atmospheres mesh so well with cannabis in my opinion when you ignore things like transportation difficulties. Winter sports definitely help you appreciate the season also. If it’s just 40s and raining though that’s kind of depressing.

I dunno if you’re talking about blazing cannabis in the wintertime or growing it, but wintertime growing is for sure easier than in the summer. All’s I have to do is crack the window in my grow room like two inches to keep temps where they need to be. No AC necessary, power bill stays a little lower… Sometimes two inches is even one inch too much haha.

If you’re talking about smoking, though, no, fuck that haha. Maybe it’s because I grew up in Florida and my blood’s super-thin, I dunno, but this cold weather sucks dick. Gimme some 95-degree temps and a pool every day of the week. And every evening, too haha…

So I just got done watering, finally defoliated those two Pura Vida f2’s. I started with the PV #2 and found extremely noticeable spots of PM all over the lower fans and shit. Which sucks, obviously. I woulda taken pics, just to prove it haha, but y’all know how I am. I ran out to the kitchen, threw the infected leaves in the garbage, sealed up the bag and threw it in the trash can outside immediately.

I examined every other plant extremely closely and didn’t see shit, so… And that Pura Vida f2 #2 is still in the tent, I haven’t trashed it yet, so this might be an interesting experiment. Might be kinda cool to see if the PM spreads (but it’ll only be cool if it doesn’t spread at all haha; if it does, that’ll suck dick).

Anyway, yeah, that blows, but we’ll see what happens. Like I said, I didn’t see shit on any of the other plants, so I think they’ll be fine.

Still, though… powdery mildew? What the fuck? I’ve been having my usual “low humidity problems” despite the rain lately, woken up in the morning multiple times to shut the tents and shit before the lights turn off and seen that humidity levels are like 37%, despite the five humidifiers I have running at night. I dunno much about PM, but it seems to me that it would only happen if humidity levels are relatively high; 37% seems pretty low to me, but, like I said, I dunno…

I’m kinda bummed, though.

I share the opinion my friend, nothing like smoking a big chillum on a ski lift, or just standing outside in a blanket of white deep in the woods with a cloud of smoke around your head. Agree too that 365 winter would be a bummer, but by end of summer I’m ready for the cold. And conversely by the end of winter I’m ready for some warmth!

dude, thats a bummer, and honestly kind of a head scratcher with an RH of 37% i can’t even get started on how that could happen in that environment.

EDIT: did you find it on those lower bushier fans? could be that theres enough leaf overlap to create a little microclimate in between the fans that could create the proper conditions for PM?

damn dude… you have 5 humidifiers and its only 37%? you sure your meter is working right?
Sucks but hopefully you got it all and the rest stay un effected :crossed_fingers:

It’s my understanding PM doesn’t mind low humidity, but IDK for sure either… but I know who does @JoeCrowe .

Yeah buddy  Ha I love visiting the cold, just not living or working in it.
