I agree. She looks pretty “Sour Diesel” to me. It’s all about the flavor, though, so we’ll see.

You can do that, too, dude! Why not? Do it! Haha. Don’t you have a pretty decent amount of seeds in your fridge? Plant ‘em. What’re you waiting for?

Whoa, that’s crazy. You collect rain water? Glad you didn’t float away!

Yeah man, I miss wood. My current house has a gas fireplace and it’s so annoying to me. I used to cook in my cast iron and do rotisserie lamb leg and shit at my old place with a real fireplace.
If there’s one reason I’d move from this pad it would be to get a wood burning fireplace again.

Damn dude sorry for your troubles. I’ve actually been thinking about buying one of those while home generators for a while, fuckin things aren’t cheap though, but the weather around here can be so wild sometimes power outages can happen almost any season. As far as your plants go i wouldn’t chop anything till you see how bad the damage is, who knows dude you might find the most resilient plants any of us have ever seen. Glad you’re back with power and everything dude, hopefully no more of that fuckery for you

We get a lot of power outages here for some reason. When it happens, I just open up the tent completely and pray the plants don’t rot before the power comes back on. Bout all you can do.

Everybody knows you were just looking to cover your mistakes, dude. Might as well just own it!

edit to add a disclaimer that I’m only kidding, just so nobody gets pissy!

We had a Generac whole house generator when I had a horse ranch. Our water came from a well and if the power went out that meant the pump wouldn’t work. There’s no way we could tolerate not having water for ourselves and all the animals. It was a necessity being in the middle of nowhere. We had our share of outages, ice storms, and TWO “500 year floods” (18 feet above flood stage!).

Is there a good option at the hobbyist levels for keeping timers set during power outages? The night-time or dark cycle power outages are more problematic for me than daytime outages. Just awareness of the correct on/off time and re-adjusting when power comes back on? Digital timers any good? Would love to have a timer retain the correct on/off time…

I was thinking about those the past two-and-a-half days, but

We don’t. I actually remember the last outage we had and it was like eight years ago, at our old house. That one only lasted a couple hours, though. They’re pretty dang rare. The news was saying that this was the worst storm we’ve had in forty years, so hopefully I won’t have to worry about it again until I’m 88 haha.

Good point. “Hey everybody! I’m lying! We didn’t just have a crazy storm and a lengthy power outage! I’m just a bad grower!” haha…

Yeah, seems like all of this “Storm of the Century” stuff is happening way more than once a century lately haha.

Mine work great. In fact, I looked at mine last night, just to be sure, and it was still on the correct time. Even when I take a little couple weeks or a month off from growing, the timers are always still on the right time.

if it below 80f the whole city stops, if it rains, forget it, im exagerating but barely haha, we hate the cold!!

im going on a trip thats why, plus im totally satisfied smoking the clones i found, but dude i have the seed poppin hitch like crazy i cant waittt to pop seeds, i got a bunch of new freeborn selections an mean gene even sent me some damn seeds himself, plus i got the puck backcross from crickets and cicada, im dying inside i cant pop em right now, but i think when i come back imma go overboard and try maybe plating 100+ seeds at once

are you watching spring training? the last two games were cool!

Dude, what’d I just say? I haven’t had power since Friday haha! But no, I haven’t watched any spring training games yet at all. I want to, though, if for no other reason than to check out all the new rule changes and shit. I saw today that they’ve shaved 28 minutes on average off of the games, which is cool by me. The four hour games were getting ridiculous.

yeah the pitch clock is some different shit so far there’s a lot a violations it’s cool

Do they outline the rule changes somewhere (this is me being lazy and asking instead of looking, admittedly)

i’m sure there is but they talk about it during the games, there’s a lot more new rules than what i hear, i’ve seen a lot more base steal, because of the new bigger bases, but… it’s spring training

I heard they were making changes but I’m never plugged in enough to know what’s up until I catch something weird in a game, I always feel a little bit disconnected, never have the time to sit down and watch every game or anything usually just a casual observer when the stars align and I can catch a game, but I like to still generally know the fuckin rules haha

I just logged on for the first time today and I’m already outta likes…

Anyway, the main rule changes/new things this year are the bigger bases that supershit mentioned (which I’m ambivalent about), the pitch clock (which I love) and no shifts/all infielders have to have both feet on the dirt (which I hate). Telling any baseball team that they can’t shift seems like bullshit to me, as does the whole “infielders’ feet in the dirt” thing. I mean, it’ll increase offense, we’ll have higher-scoring games, but still… I dunno. It just bugs me. It’s like telling a football team that they’re only allowed to play man and Cover 3 zones or something or that they’re not allowed to blitz or drop eight into coverage or whatever. It’s bullshit.

Whoa, that’s a pretty big shift in like “the philosophy of the game” right? I don’t think I’m on board with that. The pitch clock, however, all in for that one, that’s been necessary for a while now, we’ll see teams burning through their pitching staff way quicker now, but damned if the proper studs who can throw the heat and keep a good pace won’t really start to shine

Edit: where was that shift rule when I was playing tee ball and all those douchebags stared yelling “easy out” and walking up to basically rifle through my pockets while I swung :joy::joy::joy:

Yeah, it’s a little weird, for sure. I like the idea of more offense, but not like that haha.

Forgot to mention, too, that I checked all the plants super-closely last night and found two tiny nanners on the Sour Diesel x DE. Everything else was nanner-free, but I’m still gonna be keeping a close eye on all of them until they get chopped.

Almost can’t blame that SDxDE for thinking it was the end of days and trying to save itself right? I bet you could pluck em and keep rolling until finish

Oh, for sure. I plucked them. She’s still in the tent, I haven’t chopped her. I was planning on letting her go at least 77 days, if not longer, so… Unless nanners start showing up all over her every day, that’s still the plan.

I just fucked up my timing, not timer. Had 7 veggers that hadn’t shown under 10/14 for about two weeks. I only noticed because I noticed splooge. Really observant!

I put the 3 females back into 16/8, 2x are revegging, and one is just chooglin’ like nothing ever happened… and it was over 5 weeks ago. I hope she’s a keeper:)

Crazy about your power out ther. We get them from hurricanes, or ice/snow storms. We’ve been out for two week before… after that I got a genny!

Got a wood stove too, but I’m a geezer. I love the heat, but hate doing all the stuff to make it happen!

Yeah, I saw on your thread that you kinda fucked up the timing, good to know that they’re not freaking out on you now. I feel like if the genetics are stable and not too too sensitive, they can deal with a lil’ fuckup every now and then. Still, I’m kind of surprised that the only plant that I saw nanners on last night was that SD hybrid. I was certain that the SCPH cross was gonna have nanners all over her, but Santa Cruz does get kind of chilly. Maybe that has something to do with her tolerance to the little cold snap over the weekend.

Yeah, I don’t miss those at all haha. I’m for sure over this weather, though. It’s raining again right now, doesn’t seem to wanna stop.
