Fuck dude, that’s serious shit.
Good luck, try and stay alive please.

Haha, nah, dude, it’s alright. It’s not that serious. It’s just painful… haha.

Hey @minitiger
What’s up brother …Its been 8 days since you’ve been on here?
Just checking to see if you are still maintaining.
I hope all is well with you. No better time than the present to ask the man upstairs for a little help, I’ll include you in my prayers!

Yeah, dude, I’m good! Thanks for asking. Not drinking, worked out for the first time in a few months this morning (just a light workout, one set of chest, shoulders and tris, I don’t wanna tear a muscle or something haha, probably get on the Peloton after lunch, haven’t been on that thing in a long fucking time).

I haven’t been active here because when I’m not drinking, I’m just not very active on this site. When you see me posting all over the place all day, every day, leaving comments on everybody’s logs, it’s because I’m just sitting in my backyard pounding White Claws relentlessly and smoking and shit, fucking around on the iPad. When I’m sober, I don’t have too much to say haha.

Plus, there just hasn’t been much to report for the current grow, although I am gonna chop the Malibu Pure x Lemon Thai and the Nikah tomorrow night, so I’ll post pics of those two on Wednesday. Probably take pics of everything else, too.

Thank you, dude! I’m agnostic, but I’ll pray every now and then, usually when I’m writhing around in pain on the couch or in bed, going through alcohol withdrawals and shit haha. “Please, gawd, get me through this and I swear I’ll never drink again…” haha! Who knows if it works…?

Thanks for checking in, though, for real. I’m good!

Nice man, glad your slowin it down. Figured you were kickin since you weren’t around here, good to see you back
Working out is a great release, maybe I should consider that HAhaa.
I do enjoy my recreation activities but I never could get into lifting weights and being in a gym standing still moving

My wife has one of those peloton paper weight things

When she got it I was a little excited, for the money I thought it was going to move and be more like a simulation thing, but then I was like. “wait, this is just a stationary exercise bike, send that shit back” lol

I actually really like lifting weights (or as much as anybody can enjoy exercising haha); it’s the cardio shit that I have a problem with, mostly because I smoke cigs. And my knees are all fucked up from skating, so running’s outta the question. The peloton solves that problem.

We quit paying the $40 monthly fee thing for those video classes or whatever they’re called, but I can still use it just, like, “regular” or whatever, without the instructors screaming at me to,”Get it going! Pump it up!” or whatever haha. I prefer that.

I did, too haha, pretty disappointed when I got on it for the first time. I dunno if you ever did the “free rides” or whatever, where you pick a city and just ride at your own pace, without an instructor or whatever, with video of the city passing by as you ride. Anyway, I figured the video would move at the same pace as I was riding, so when I started pedaling faster, the video would move faster. I dunno if I’m making sense right now, but in any event, it doesn’t speed up if you speed up haha. There’s, like, a total disconnect. It’s annoying haha.

Good to hear you are doing well and are starting back up with some healthier habits!

Strength training is really good for you and while I don’t lift weights, I do a lot of resistance band exercises, push ups, planks, etc. since I don’t have to leave my house to do it, haha. If you are able to rotate between different lifts, or even speed up your intervals between your sets, you can get a little cardio going too. I used to hate those dudes at the gym that would just hang out on a machine or weight set forever, it’s like, you should be able to get in, workout, and leave, all within an hour, not spend half your damn day there, haha.

Anyway, glad to see you around and that you’re kicking this thing in the ass!

Hahaaa I’ve never been on that damn thing dude

Yeah, once I start really getting back into shape, I’ll mix in some of that stuff, too. ONLY lifting weights does get boring, even when I do the “one month for strength, one month for power” regimen thing.

I don’t have to leave my house to lift  We’ve got a full-on power rack or whatever they’re called in the garage, tons of weights, all kinds of different shit in there. My girl used to have an exercise blog, back when blogs were a thing, and she had a pretty huge following, like thousands and thousands of readers, so different companies would constantly be sending her shit to try out and review. That’s how we got the rack, actually. It’s like $1500 if you buy it, kinda crazy that they just sent it to her. I mean, in my mind, a rack’s a rack, I dunno what there is to “review” exactly.

I’ve actually considered getting a gym membership, though, just to get me out of the fucking house haha. But I’m with you, I hate going to the gym.

Thanks, dude, but don’t speak too soon. It’s only been five days haha. And it was sooooooo friggin’ nice today, definitely woulda been nice to crack a few. And then a few more haha.

Damn, why did she ever give it up? Websites can make some money if you get enough clicks on your articles, although I am sure a lot of the fitness stuff also transferred to YouTube where you can make a lot of money as well.

Well that’s awesome, was looking into getting one of those crazy racks where you can do a ton of different exercises but it would take up a bit of space, my garage isn’t really set up for that kind of thing. One of our rooms is already the designated “gym” room with a bike and elliptical so it would get a little tight with a rack in there as well.

I hear you there, I quit drinking alcohol a couple months ago, and not like an “I’m quitting drinking cause I drink too much and I can never have another drop” but it was more because my wife was starting to feel like shit even after only one or two drinks, and two drinks was typically our maximum but we would have a few Thurs-Sat night, every week.

And while we didn’t have the same physical dependence that you had, it was definitely hard to break the habit and just the cycle of doing it. Kinda like when the weather was so nice it made you want to revert back to it. Let’s just say I have started drinking way more herbal tea than I ever did and I have started reading books a lot more haha. Finding another healthy way to divert your energy is a good thing, just like starting to exercise again.

Because she quit exercising… haha! I’m hoping that me getting back into it will get her motivated, too.

You can get just, like, a “normal” bench, but one that comes with an attachment for lat pulldowns and triceps pushdowns and shit that you slide into the end of the bench. It even has a thing on the end to do like leg curls and leg extensions and stuff. That’s what I used to use in my apartment in Koreatown. They’re pretty cheap, too, definitely much cheaper than a rack.

Yeah, that’s kind of one of my problems, is that I don’t get hangovers. Usually, for the first few weeks of my binges, I actually wake up feeling really good (probably still drunk from the previous day haha) and just like,“Okay, let’s keep it going!” It’s only after about a month or so of that that it starts to become kind of hellish. In any event, I feel better now, for sure, glad I’m not drinking. I dunno about going to AA just yet, but I haven’t ruled it out. It’s pretty easy to not be drinking at the moment, just because it’s all cold and kind of crappy (Monday notwithstanding), but I know I’m gonna struggle with it once the weather gets warmer and summer’s getting closer.

Alright, so I chopped the Malibu Pure Kush x Lemon Thai and the Nikah last night, flower day 62.

Here’s the Malibu Pure cross:

She really, really stretched, way more than anything else. The extended 14/10 light schedule didn’t help keep her shorter at all, like it did with the other plants.

Closeups:

I forgot to mention that one of the tops snapped off weeks ago, like maybe around week six of flower, but you can see right where it snapped in that last pic haha.

As far as smells are concerned, I can’t put my finger on what exactly I’m smelling with her, but it’s a weird one for sure. I wouldn’t say that it smells like,“Oh my GAWD, what is that?!? I have to smoke some right now!” But I’m sure that’ll change as she dries and cures. Or maybe it won’t, I dunno.

And here’s the Nikah, one plant, two angles:

One of her colas straight broke in half like two or two-and-a-half weeks ago, I can’t remember, but I just left it on there dangling. It didn’t seem to affect it, the leaves on the broken portion were still green. Or as green as any of the leaves were, anyway. There were a lot of yellowish and even dried and shriveled-up leaves on her last night.

Anyway, here’s a pic of that broken-in-half cola:

And here’s some closeups of nugs that remained fully intact:

I dunno what the fuck that last pic is. Just, like, a Wall of Nugs or something… haha.

I dunno if you can tell from the pics, but the way the flowers formed on her is so weird. They’re not “calyx-y” and they’re not chunky and they’re not, uh… I dunno. I’m not sure I’ve ever grown anything that looked quite like her flowers look, though. I mean, I’ve grown plenty of non-chunky, non-calyx-y weed before, but I haven’t grown anything that looks like the Nikah flowers, for sure.

Smells are all menthol and anise, which I definitely wasn’t expecting. And she’s smelled like that for so long that I really don’t anticipate it changing while she dries and cures. But who knows? Maybe it will. There was a little three- or four-day period where she smelled like fruity bubblegum, but that was short-lived, obviously. Still, it’s in there somewhere, maybe the cure will draw some of that out.

Anyway, yeah, two down, four to go. I tried to get pics of the rest of the stuff, but the camera battery died after my very first non-Nikah, non-Malibu Pure x LT pic haha. Charged the battery, I’l take pics of those tomorrow night when I water.

Okay, snapped some pics of the rest of the plants last night.

Sour Diesel x Dragon Energy, flower day 64 (she and the two Pura Vida f2’s were not left on the lengthy 14/10 schedule, so flower times or whatever are accurate on those):

I’m starting to get reeeallllyyyy fucking stoked about her. Those flowers are for sure pretty friggin’ Sour Diesel-ish-looking, with the swollen, sorta “bulbous” calyxes and the little bit of foxtailing and shit. The only thing that she doesn’t have going on right now is that she’s not super-loud, but I suspect that that has to do with the less-than-ideal environment and probably some sorta nutrient deficiency, too. Either way, though, I’m pretty pumped about her.

And here are the two Pura Vida f2’s side-by-side, flower day 64, just so we can see the differences between them:

These are my favorite plants in the tent right now (although that could change, depending on how that SD hybrid turns out haha). The #2 is on the left and the #5 is on the right (duh). The #2 is obviously taller and has much more “pointy” flowers, whereas the #5 has rounder, golfball-type nugs. The #2 also smells more fuel-y and chem-y; the #5 smells much, much more like an OG-type smell. I’m thinking the #2 is an Apppy leaner and the #5 is probably an HPK leaner.

Honestly, the #5 totally reminds me of the “OG Kush” I use to get from this one dispensary on Sunset down in Echo Park years and years ago. They had all of the Fire and Skywalker and Diablo and whatever all else, all the “named OG’s” or whatever, but then they had one that they just called “OG Kush.” That’s what the #5 smells like. I dunno what that one was, though, other than, uh, some sorta OG Kush haha. It’s a real mystery! haha…

Anyway, closeups of the #2 Pura Vida f2, flower day 64:

And the #5 Pura Vida f2, flower day 64:

I think they probably have at least another ten days. The weather here is soooooo fucking perfect for drying weed right now, though, cold, rainy, good humidity levels. I checked on the hanging Nikah and Malibu Pure Plant this morning and it was like 67 degrees in there, 62% humidity (which is actually a little higher than I like it for the first few days of drying). It’s making me wanna chop the other plants ASAP haha.

But I won’t.

And here’s the Santa Cruz Pure Haze x A5 Thai, flower day 64 (but again, she was left on the extended 14/10 schedule, so…):

I’m fairly certain she looks like that, all purple/black, because she’s been seriously Mg deficient for a while now; I don’t think it’s genetic. Still, it looks kinda cool… haha! I keep thinking I’m gonna chop her soon, but then her flowers will noticeably swell and I change my mind. Because of the long-ass 14/10 and the autoflowering and shit, I’m thinking she’s probably closer to, like, day 74 than she is day 64, even though it’s only been 64 days since I switched to a flowering schedule, lighting-wise. I’ll probably let her go at least another week, maybe more.

And don’t ask me what she smells like, either! haha. I cannot put my finger on it at all…

Anyway, yeah, new pics!

So, uh… That fucking suuuuuuuucked….

Our power went out around 130am on Friday night/Saturday morning. Since I was asleep, I didn’t realize it until I woke up around 615am, freezing my balls off. Lights on in the tent is at 8:15pm, so the plants were in the dark for almost five hours before I even knew what was going on. Lights off is at 720am right now; I figured it’d be best to just shut the tent when I woke up rather than give them an hour of random “flashlight and battery-powered lanterns” light and then shut it.

LADWP said the power would be back on at 8pm on Saturday night, but that didn’t happen. Then they said it’d be on at 8am Sunday morning, but that didn’t happen, either. Then they said it’d be on at 7am today and that didn’t happen. It finally turned on a little after noon today. I used the aforementioned battery-powered lanterns and one of those lights that you clip on to a book so you can read in the dark (which was surprisingly bright) to provide at least some light on Saturday and Sunday night.

No power also means no exhaust fan running. When I opened the tent on Saturday night, humidity was at 97%, which was actually a pleasant surprise; I fully anticipated the hygrometer reading 99% haha. Sunday night wasn’t actually too bad, only 62%, so that’s good. Temps have gotten as low as 54 degrees and haven’t gotten any higher than 62 this whole time.

So, yeah… Tonight‘ll be the first chance I really get to look at the plants since all this has happened, kind of debating if I should just chop them all tonight or wait until the nanners start showing up and chop them then. I dunno. I’m definitely getting sick of having to chop everything like a week or two early, though. If it isn’t aphids, it’s thrips and if it isn’t thrips it’s a gawddamn sixty-hour power outage haha…

Plus-side, we used our fireplace for the first time since we moved into this house almost six years ago, so that was kinda cool. And I read three books from the stack that I’ve gotten as gifts over the course of the last couple years. That was kinda cool, too.

But overall, it fucking suuuuuucked… haha!

Damn man, I hate power outages! We had a bad ice storm a few years ago and knocked the power out for like 4 days. All of my surrounding neighbors have these automatic backup whole house generators so that made it even better with the constant humming reminding me of how bad my life sucked at the time.

Glad your power is back on, what caused the outage? was it too cold for you Cali folk?
Wood or gas?

Dude! That was the thing that was driving me fucking NUTS, was on Saturday night when I went to go pick up some food (because we obviously couldn’t cook): everybody around us, one block out in every direction, had power. It was just our block that didn’t, which I didn’t know until it got dark. I took Rushy, the new dog, for a walk later that night and just peered into everybody’s well-lit windows while we walked, all like,”You assholes… You motherfucking assholes…” haha.

We had a huge storm here, an inch of rain an hour for like 30 hours straight below 1000 feet. Above 1000 feet, it just duuuuumped snow. Big Bear got like seven feet in a day. A friend of mine who lives in Lancaster, like an hour north of us, texted me on Friday morning and said it was already snowing at her house, which is not something that happens, ever. Lucky for her, she flew to Florida to visit family for a couple weeks later that afternoon haha. As much as I despise Florida, I kinda wish I’d have gone with her haha!

I mean, 34’s pretty cold no matter where the fuck I am. Particularly when I don’t have any power and it’s fucking 54 degrees inside my gawddamn house.

Wood or gas what? The fireplace? Wood. I spent like $150 on wood in the last couple days haha. Yesterday morning I had to trash all the groceries that I bought on Thursday in anticipation of this storm, too, which is super-irritating.

I’m actually pretty worried about my seed collection, but the fridge that they’re in is in the garage outside, so I think they’ll be okay. Hopefully. They better be, gawddamn it haha. Otherwise I’m suing LADWP for the 20 grand I just lost because they couldn’t get their shit together haha!

Fingers crossed your power outage doesn’t mess anything up this late in flower!

I’m pretty positive that it’s going to. I mean, I dunno how sub-60 degree temps and weird dim lighting/interrupted light schedules and crazy-high humidity and shit couldn’t.

If it doesn’t, though, then we now know that Doc’s Sour Diesel x Dragon Energy and Santa Cruz Pure Haze x A5Thai and nube’s Pura Vida f2’s are super stress-tolerant haha…
