Bodhi Guide - Seed and Strain Discussion (Part 1)

For the stress test I did low pH 5-5.2 for a month then brought it back up to 6.5, blasted with high DLI (45) from seed, shot the roots with cold air 24/7, high stress training through mainlining, and let the soil dry out completely. I didn’t finish stress testing them as they didn’t make it to flower since I had no females and culled them all.

Anyone got SSDD for trade? Thinking the repros done in '18? (if memory of that research is correct lol)

I have a SSDD cross that can work but ideally would be nice to have the SSDD. The missus pain is worse so I’m looking to surprise her down the road with a nice flower surprise for her vape.

Thanks in advance even if you just read this.

Didn’t you get the SSDD F2 BX1’s I made last year? You’d likely have much better luck finding what you’re looking for in those, than you would looking through even an F1 pack, much less the abysmal germination rate 2018 repro’s from Sebring that my own cut came from.

If you do go for the 2018 repro’s, expect around a 10-20% germination rate.

OMG you’re totally right @HolyAngel !

I just checked my pile of “not logged yet” flips and there they were!

They’re now in the “next up when there’s space” container in the seed fridge!

Every once in a while I read these comments about low germ rates and I get pangs of fear, for all of the stuff I have jammed in the fridge…but then I will take some out and they pop!
Then there’s the random stuff I don’t care so much for, and give the attempt, and don’t get great results…means I may or may not have some mango biche x kashmir f2 coming…

I’ve got a keeper from one of the packs you donated to go with the Mother’s Milk fundraiser for funeral costs a while back. It’s a beast of a plant, put every other plant in the pack to shame and became a behemoth in a 1/4 gallon pot while being neglected. I had two plants in that pot and it’s comical the difference in size. Some got sent outdoors and struggled with mold early, but have held up better than others, including a pack of silver sunshine. They’ve been in mediocre at best conditions, and for most of my outdoor stuff, if it’s still alive it’s a testament to the genetics.

On my keeper… Really open structure and minimal foliage. Smells strongly of chives and is very pungently herbaceous with a sprinkle of BO, which was apparent in veg. I got more girls than boys, and the girls were the standouts. I pollinated the original mom with Staten Island Diesel (Staten Island Chem x Stoney’s Sour D Male) and moved her outdoors. Could make for some truly awful/magnificent smelling offspring. I’ve grown out 4 packs using that sour D male of Stoney’s, and here’s some magic in him, so it should be interesting. Now she needs to survive the cold and lack of sunshine…

Anyway, thanks for making them! I’ve enjoyed growing them and putting them through their paces. If you have some left and would ever fancy a trade, my genetics or other breeders, let me know.

I did some selected inbred (aka pollen chuck) ssdd f2’s this summer. The bx1’s will probably be better, and you already have them, but my hunch is that my f2’s will bring a lot of that ssdd magic, too. I’m so new on here I don’t know how to send a private message lol. I don’t have a ton, but I can share some packs. (Not like they’d be worth pheno hunting anyway)

I wouldn’t say that. The magic in the SSDD line is in the F2’s imo. The best F1’s tended to only have half of what I was looking for. My keeper came from F2’s and that’s where I’ve been trying to find a matching male from. It’s definitely a hunt though.

Well, mine all come from the same mom and dad. I thought that would limit it. Whatever the case, I bet they’ll be fun to grow and smoke.

Has any one grown out the silver sunshine and done f2s with them? I have a keeper that is extremely effective at helping with my anxiety and depression. I highly recommend it if anyone has packs to go through.

That’s her at about 7 weeks I think, she leans heavily to the haze side.

I just grew out 2 phenos of Silver sunshine. Haven’t smoked them enough to pick out nuances yet though. They are in jars still being burped

The 2 phenos I had that were both very similar but different at the same time. The keeper I have is way more pine and lemon where as the other was more creamy and had a more sweet lemon smell both were phenomenal.
