Space Monkey is great. I have one lavender stinker im keeping around atm and also another fresh female from seed going into flowering with my Orange Goji at day 15 now. Both the Orange Goji and Space Monkey are making frost already. Look forward to seeing what you get
@JBow918 yours came from farmerjoe.
I’m not sure how many went out but I got the last of them, now you have them.
May not be the same that swampy has.
Thanks man. I’m just gonna leave the yo mama thing alone, for now
what strains were used in the Wolf Pack? Chem hybrid?
im doing a preservation on some Double OG Chem x 5G’s Purple BX. (Rebel Grown). 4 males, 4-5 females.
damn, u got flowers on them already, nice.
most of my gear is still days away from flowers forming on my outdoor. gonna be a late year here.
Your gear is coming along nicely @ElGalloBlanco outdoors.
Think it was Giesel x App = Wolf Pack
App = Appalachian?
I grew some nice Mothers Milk that had Appalachia OG mixed in there. Made very nice cannabis.
any idea of the parentals behind the Space Monkey?
Ive never heard of the Space Monkey before. A loud smelling strain apparently.
A 7 week pheno would be the shit! Bonus!
It’s going to be a beast of a smoke I can already tell just by the smell it’s going to funky. I hope you have a few left to try yourself . I’ve got a confirmed male and female I think I will have to make a f2 gen of these . How exactly did you store that pollen I know it was in the freezer but what kinda of container did you use? It must be a solid way to do it if it’s still good 2 yrs later.
@cannacrab also just reading that proportion of females has been reported to be increased by exposure to ultraviolet light and irradiation with gamma rays so I guess stick your new seedlings in the sun for a bit. I have read Shantibaba saying that young plants should be exposed to sunlight to trigger certain expressions and Karma says you can rejuvenate old plants that seem to have lost their vigour by extended periods in the sun.
moisture is the #1 enemy of cannabis pollen.
be sure to store your pollen in sealed containers and keep moisture out of containers.
I collect and remove all green debris then dry the pollen out for a day on some parchment paper and into centrifuge containers with rice and into the freezer they go. Seems to work out still have UFS18 and SS4 pollen for future use also.
Space monkey is GG4 X Wookie 15
ah, ok. the name makes sense now.
ive never tried Wookies before. is it a cookies hybrid with a clever handle on her?
Im not sure the lineage of wookie 15. But, I do not believe its a cookie cross. I think its a star wars reference. Im not sure. Never watched a star wars movie in my life. Lol
Wookie is a cross of lavender x Appalachia
This is a nug of kashmir x strawberry milk tester. Dont let the unmanicured look fool ya, this stuff tastes really nice and has a fantastic high to it
cool. good to know it wasnt a play on words or something like that.
*Ive never watched Star Wars either myself.
TY
Lol yeah not so much with wookie but definitely a play on words with some of his others like higher primate, space monkey etc
Exactly… (needs 10 characters to post)
Gonna have to call BS on the theory that sticking your seedlings in the sun increases female:male ratios. I started 19 plants in the sun this May and vegged then outdoors for about six weeks and ended up with six females. Started about the same amount of seeds outdoors last May, vegged the same amount of time outdoors and ended up with about the same number of females. Every May, I start my “summer grow” outdoors and move them inside when it gets too hot, but after most of the plants have shown their sex. I’ve gotten great ratios of females-to-males and I’ve gotten horrible ratios (lately, no matter where I start the seeds, it’s been way more males than females).
It’s just luck of the draw.
BTW, if anybody tries to blame a particular breeder for having abnormally high male-to-female ratios, they’re clearly misinformed. Do just the slightest bit of reading and you’ll realize that that’s an impossible thing. Unless they’re “male-izing” their seeds, like the opposite of feminizing. I’m not sure any breeder’s doing that, though haha!
