I’m gonna side with @minitiger on this one. Suggesting to search is often the best answer (even if it seems harsh or unhelpful), simply because it will frequently provide much more info than the people currently viewing/responding to a thread may be able to provide. This is especially true for the “what should I buy/grow” questions, but also for smoke/grow reports and many other grow questions. Better yet, there’s no waiting for the right people to see your question and respond. IMO, if you’re not frequently searching the forums to find answers to your questions, you’re doing yourself a disservice by ignoring content from users who came before you and likely either asked the very same questions or offered the very information you’re seeking.
As I’ve seen in other spots, it sounds as if Bodhi hasn’t had much input on this collab beyond providing the Lavender Lemonade. And based on Bodhi’s comments on breedbay, it seems to be mostly an attempt to get people exposed to other genetics beyond cookies & hoping to get them interested in what else cannabis has to offer beyond the limited gene pool Berner’s using.
And, best of all, my Wookie Orgasm ladies are gonna experience chop day soon, possibly as soon as this weekend. They’re on day 59 of 11/13 and I’m starting to see some amber trichomes on the buds. Smells are hard to nail down. Definitely some pinesol & funky fruit in there…but I’m not sure how much smell to really attribute to just the Wookie Orgasms, since there are also 4 other plants in the tent.
Most any sativa x Wookie would be great for daytime and not racy (except maybe Super Silver Haze). The Wookie is mostly Skunk genes so it’s uplifting and happy but not racy imho.
*EDIT just don’t harvest early (all clear trichs), or smoke a lot at once. The higher thc can make Skunks more “paranoid” effect for me, in those instances.
People here and a test grower on Breedbay really enjoy Lavender Jack.
And Black Raspberry looks killer.
I believe the OMG male is gone so Bodhi can’t make more (Laughing Lemon). But there are OMG sired strains still being released that B made years ago (like Madre Azul).
@CrunchBerries you totally should f2 those since it will take some time to do so.
And maybe just wait a little bit before releasing them to make sure Bodhi doesn’t release the last of his stock?
@nube i think posted a good detailed quote from Bodhi about f2-ing his lines, somwhere on OG.
Again, you get the idea. The #2 Imperial Majesty seemed to lean way more to the Pure Kush side of things, as opposed to the GHash side. And I’m just basing that opinion on flower formation, internode spacing, structure etc. But both of them seemed more OG-ish than GHash-ish.
Before anybody asks, they both smelled totally and completely “classic OG,” with that perfume-y/aftershave-ish thing, maybe a little cologne. Probably some other stuff going on, too, that I can’t remember offhand. Of all the OG/'88G13HP crosses of Bodhi’s that I’ve grown, these two were easily the most OG-leaning, as far as growth patterns and smells are concerned. Been in jars for a week now; I’ll probably start checking them out in ten days or so. Looking forward to it haha…
See how in that last pic, those nugs are growing right up against that stem? Both of the Dread Breads grew rock-solid flowers, so dense that when I was trimming them the other day, there were indentations on the flowers from the stems they were growing against haha. Like, you could see a stem “mold” on the sides of the nugs that were growing against the stems.
The tallest Dread Bread only ended up 44 inches-tall, not including the pot; the other ended up 42 inches. I’m not sure how tall they were when they were flipped, but they didn’t stretch outta control or anything. I’ve grown taller haha.
Both smelled like “creamy fruity” for pretty much the duration, on the day I chopped and even on the day I trimmed and jarred, which is a first for me. Usually the smells change so much through the growing/drying process, but these really didn’t, although I did burp the jars for the final time yesterday before I sealed them up for the next three or four weeks and I detected a nice hint of spice from both of them, in addition to the “creamy fruity” thing. So that’s cool.
They also both finished much faster than I was anticipating (hoping? haha). One of them probably coulda gone another week, but I don’t think chopping her on day 77 will affect anything too much. Looking forward to checking them out in a month, too! haha.
This. This is what irritates me more than anything else. Because it strikes me as lazy. When people ask questions that have been asked and answered a thousand times before, I do get pissed off. I admit it.
Like, the internet is probably one of the coolest things ever invented (also one of the worst things ever invented haha), simply because you can find all of the information you need in two seconds. Or two minutes, anyway. Maybe it’ll even take two hours (gasp! Reading for two hours???); that’s okay. And if you can’t find info on a specific cross, you can search the parent plants and then go down the rabbit hole, which I actually enjoy. You learn a lot of things that you didn’t even know you were interested in or looking for. Reading and learning is fun! haha.
People used to have to go to the library and the corner newsstand and subscribe to magazines and newsletters and zines and shit just to get the info they were interested in. They’d have to wait for their favorites to publish once a week or once a month or quarterly or whatever… I’m not even that old, but I do think sometimes,”These whippersnappers don’t know how easy they’ve got it…” haha.
And while I’m ranting, the word is spelled “pistils,” not “pistols.” I can always tell when somebody gets all of their info from podcasts and YouTube videos when they spell it like it’s a gun haha!
The easiest way to find seeds you’re interested in is just to google “Bodhi (strain name) cannabis seeds.” As slammedsonoma said, they’re available at breedersdirect right now.
Unless you’re just partial to GLG, which I understand. I don’t feel comfortable ordering from certain seed banks, but breedersdirect is legit. A lot of seed banks aren’t, but they are.
Oh my gosh! How long does that take? Thirty seconds? Sixty??? That’s too gawddamn long… I’d rather just post a question on the Bodhi thread and wait for somebody to do the “work” for me…
I searched “Lavender Jack” earlier, just outta curiosity, and it took me less than two minutes to find those seeds from a reputable seed bank. If that’s too much for somebody to handle, we are all doomed… haha!
In fairness many people here grow and don’t post or have grow logs. Sometimes it’s great to cast a wide net in a thread like this and get various people chiming in as well. I barely ever post a grow log but have experience growing different strains. I’m not trying to cause a stir or go back and forth with you. I’m just showing you where I’m coming from and why so you get less irritated when people ask. If you get irritated , maybe take a break from the interwebs here, and check out Reddit . Lots of reasons to get mad over there.
I sure wish people posted more pictures of plants they are growing, than plans about what seeds they want to buy. It’s getting kind of old in our breeder threads.
Yep. No one searches on Reddit either. Where everyone asks “what’s the best place to buy seeds”, “which of these lights on amazon is best”, “is this male/female”, “what’s wrong with my plant”, and “are these done yet” like they’re not the 12th person in 2 days to post those exact questions.
Thank goodness, right?! There’s so much more to cannabis than sparkly cookie buds, hopefully he’ll open some people’s minds to the possibilities. I know he was testing that LL with Radioridge, it’ll be nice to get some more info on it soon (hopefully).
Sweet, I’ll be keeping an eye out for the report!
Haha yup, you just have to really know how to harness the power of the internet. I find that most people don’t know how to even search for stuff correctly through google. Half of my job is knowing how to use google…
I had to un-sub to certain SubReddits, because it was literally the same four questions posted over and over. I rarely go over there now, especially for any kind of grow advice or info.
