Okay, yeah, I can’t remember the name of the avocado tree that grows, uh, avocados on its own, without the male. It’s extremely common, though. When the dude told me what it was, I was like,”Yeah, okay, I’ve heard of that.” I can’t remember what it was right now, though (faded, sorry). They didn’t have any of the ones that didn’t require a male, though, so I bought a donut peach tree instead haha.
Anyway, who cares? Haha. Grow that fucker out and let’s see if you get some sweet-ass avocados. Probably take a few years, but that’s alright. I’ve got time…
Ha, the name taken from a stoner in “The Fan Man.” Great book, if you haven’t read it!
Sorry, I forgot where I was, I’m a geezer, didn’t mean to jack SoA’s thread, lol!
I’ll wobble over to the Bodhi thread.
@SonsOfAvery thanks for the headsup on your journal. Seems I’ve been a member for a while, but I forgot to leave some breadcrumbs, d’oh! Great start, I’ll keep up!
@HorseBadorites it’s cool, I raally don’t mind people chatting in here, but I might interrupt every so often with an update lol.
@minitiger I don’t have any outdoor space where I am at the moment, so I’ll just have to wait and see how big it gets before I need to take it out the cupboard.
I’d love to have the outdoor garden (and weather) to grow some fruit trees, donut peaches are delicious, I’m jealous!
Only one half of the tree got adequate sunlight. The tree broke in half a couple months ago, just because one half was loaded with peaches and the other half wasn’t haha. So she’s done. We’re gonna have her removed in the fall and plant something else.
I’m a really shitty grower. My weed plants are always breaking in half (or more), my peach tree is breaking in half… I should probably just give growing up haha.
3 more days in this cupboard and then they will go into the tent under 276w of LED (home made DIY frame, from TCI strips)
Thinking of adding another 69watt of LED to the frame, but I’m not sure if I can be bothered to rewire the whole thing just to add 3 strips… we’ll see
Strange thing happened after watering today, one of the Soulmates turned all of its leaves to face upside down, after about 15-20 of being under the lights again…just one of the whole lot.
(Sorry i didn’t get a pic, will get one in the morning if it’s still like that.)
That one plant center-row, farthest to the left, looks like a beast. Probably a male, but I like it anyway haha. Front row, second-from-the-right, center row furthest to the right and back row second-from-the-left look promising, too. I mean, they all look good, but those are my favorites haha.
They’re looking great!
That kink in the leaves must be part of the genetics, i have one that is putting out leaves with that look too.
The one that turned itself upside down, it turned the entire leaf over, not just a blade. It’s righted itself now though.
I just like literally JUST bought and ate my first bunch of donut peaches, and cotton candy grapes at the local farmers market. (I’m Always there) a wealth of information from those old farmers, it’s amazing the stuff I’ve learned just hanging out there. And I’m hooked on those delicious peaches now
And now that I’ve finally found your thread, I’m here to stay my friend from across the pond. Looking forward to watching these Soulmates and the rest of your adventures.
My girl and I have a donut peach tree in the backyard, always goes off and provides tons of peaches by mid-June. This year, she grew so many that she snapped in half. So now my girl and I don’t have a donut peach tree anymore… haha. They are tasty, though, aren’t they? Love them.
Here’s a quick update, had to do some reshuffling and added an additional 23w of LED. It’s starting to get a little cramped, but they’re all off into the tent for vegging.
The cupboard will now be 12/12 for the solo cup grow along with clones from the soulmate, that I’ll be usuing to make F3s and hopefully some S1s.
