Bodhi's Triple Goddess, HolyAngel's Franco's Lemon Cheese x NL5Haze/Sensi Star and Doc D's Wat Pho

I mean, I feel like it’s pretty thoroughly mixed at this point. I always mix it up for a few minutes when I re-amend and also before I start filling up pots. But yeah, maybe just a weekly couple turns with a shovel would help. Even though I use RO water to keep the bins moist, it’s possible that there’s some sort of sodium buildup or something going on.

And I haven’t replaced my RO filters in like two or three years haha. They need replacing, too, the water’s coming out soooooo slowly right now, takes forever to fill even just a one-gallon bucket. I’ve considered busting out my TDS meter to see where the water’s at, but I don’t wanna know. It’s probably basically tap water haha.

Hey @JoeCrowe (and anybody else who might know), what kind of pests do you think those are? It’s kinda hard to tell from the pic, but maybe if you click on it or something…

Seems a little early for me to be dealing with any weirdness, but I know it happens. They’re not on the undersides of that leaf, either, only on the top of it. I’m gonna foliar tonight, been planning on doing that even before I noticed that shit when I was labeling pics this morning.

White flies??? I’m not really seeing any bugs with my eyes though. You got a microscope or loupe?

Look thrip-like to me. Especially the black spots.

Excited to see this round too :metal:t2:

Whiteflies? Those black spots all over that leaf? I thought whiteflies were, uh, white haha.

My first take was shotgun fungus, but I don’t really see mushrooms.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking, too, although it doesn’t look exactly like the other times when I’ve had thrips/aphids.

I mean, if I don’t get whatever that is dealt with, we’re not gonna see shit haha. I haven’t even flipped yet, definitely not gonna spend the next three+ months dealing with pests. But I am gonna foliar tonight, topped everything yesterday and I like to foliar right after I’ve done that. Shoulda done it last night…

Shotgun fungus? How much hash have you smoked this morning? Haha.

Just kidding. I was afraid it might be spider mites, but I think it’s probably aphids or thrips, like SlowToes said. Hopefully I’ll only have to foliar a few times to deal with it. That’s the only plant that has whatever that is on it, so maybe it’ll be easy.

Famous last words… haha.

I agree there’s way more black spots compared to the streaky spots they leave behind, but everything else is telling me thrips. Can even see those few on the leaf. Regardless a spray will help. And yeah… hah I’d definitely rather never deal with bugs but if I had to choose, I’d much rather it be in veg. Now if it’s thrips and mites… haha kidding. You’d notice mites underneath if it were. I’d hope

True. Good point. I guess I was just thinking about the two times I’ve had pests, which happened right near when the plants were finishing up anyway. Wasn’t a big deal to just say,”Alright, fuck it, I’ll chop them now.” Constantly spraying shit throughout the course of the plants’ lives just does not sound appealing to me at all… haha.

We’ll see what happens. Luckily I saw it early. The first time I got aphids, I was totally oblivious. I mean, I kinda noticed some weirdness, but it wasn’t until the plants were fucking COVERRRRRED in aphids that I was like,”Hm. That looks weird. What is that?” haha!

Hah I’ve had the opposite reaction. I see bugs in my last 2-3 weeks and I’m like “fuck!”. And feel like my whole run was a waste. But what comes to mind right away is when I saw a speckled leaf and said “is that spider mites?” Then looked up to see a whole branch webbed up. Big oops. I’d rather spray the shit out of my veg tent for 3 weeks than try to mess with them in my last 3 weeks. Each their own though.

Just ordered some pinball wizard though. Will tag ya next year when they’re going. Also ordered those ‘beastie bandaid haze’ where it’s crosses to the a5. Hopefully it comes out more energetic than yours did

Black spots tell me that you have mites

Right, I get that. The two times I got aphids/thrips, it really was like less than a week before I was planning on chopping. For most of the plants, anyway. The Mexican Melons I wanted to let go for a couple three more weeks, but they still smoked great. And those plants were actually completely unaffected, no aphids on them at all, but I still chopped them just because I was pissed haha. There was one single Bandaid Haze plant I wanted to grow for another month the second time I got aphids, but the other three were finished, so it wasn’t a big deal.

Yeah, for sure. Sometimes I’m real good about weekly IPM stuff in veg and then other grows I don’t really care haha. This one looks like I’m gonna have to be super-on top of it. I just sprayed with neem oil, K silicate, aloe and both peppermint and rosemary essential oils, probably do that again in five days sans the aloe. We’ll see what happens.

It’s definitely aphids. In the ten or so hours since I posted that pic and before I sprayed, that one leaf had a lot of that “streaky” sorta greasy shit all over it. Telltale sign of aphids. I think? Haha. It looked a lot like when I’ve had aphids before, anyway. The rest of the plants look fine, so… I dunno haha.

Oh, that’s cool. I liked the couple that I grew, real good smoke, but the flavor wasn’t my favorite. My plants didn’t look like anybody else’s that I’ve seen online, not too sure what that was about. I know the seeds were legit, though.

What’s that? A hybrid of Doc’s Beastie Boy and A5T? I remember reading a review or two of some of that Beastie stuff on the thread, think it was AdvancedBuffalo who posted them and he said that they were suuuuuper-heavy. Or something haha.

I just remember reading whatever he had to say about them and thinking,”Alright, I’m not gonna fuck with those crosses…” haha. I loved those straight BAH’s, though, very good smoke. Not “energetic,” but still awesome.

more soil mixing… fun :upside_down_face:

Can you get a better picture of that leaf if you still have it? Hopefully you got rid of it, but if you didn’t… Cutting it off and inspecting should give some clues. Thrips like to hide near the leaf veins. Doesn’t look like spidermite damage to me… Maybe some kind of mold or fungi.

Has it progressed to any other leaves or is that the only leaf you see it on?

Hard to tell if this is debris from the straw, leaf deformations, or something living. Good excuse to pull out the macro clip you bought!

Maaaan… The soil is fucking MIXED, gawddamnit haha. When I said “turn it,” I just meant sticking a shovel in the bins and, uh, turning it a couple times, like you would with a compost pile.

Or whatever haha. It takes two seconds.

Yeah, I thought about cutting it off, just because it did seem like they were relegated to only that one leaf on that one plant. Maybe I’ll go in there and do that now… haha. I actually haven’t even really looked at the plants today, mostly because I figure the aphids are either there or they’re not, nothing I can do about it today. I mean, I’m not gonna spray the plants two days in a row, ya know?

When I first noticed it, I actually did think it might just be soil from when I transplanted. You know how when you flip the pots over to get the little seedlings out and some of the soil spills all over the plant? But upon closer examination and trying to shake it off, no, it’s not debris haha.

It’s aphids for sure. Or some other kinda bullshit pest. I’ll foliar again in a couple days and we’ll see what happens.

Is this a joke? Are you fucking with me right now? Haha. That thing is useless. Either that, or I’m just too dumb to make it work…

I’m gonna spray again tonight, I think, just because, uh… This is totally not related to weed, but has anybody here ever had a colonoscopy? I’m getting one on Wednesday, wasn’t worried about it at all until this morning when the doctor told me about the process, the sorta “ramping up” to it. I can’t eat the day before, have to drink some sort of “clearing you out” stuff all day tomorrow…

The only good thing about it is that apparently they knock you out when they actually do it, told me I was gonna need a ride home, which… Good. I don’t wanna be awake for it. Please, knock me the fuck out.

Anyway, yeah, I don’t think I’m gonna feel like spraying tomorrow night after not eating all day and drinking whatever it is they’re giving me, pretty sure I’m not gonna feel like spraying after I get this thing done on Wednesday, either. They said it takes three hours. Three hours! What the fuck? I thought it was just gonna be like a twenty-minute procedure, in and out (no pun intended) haha.

But yeah, have any of y’all ever had one of these things?

I haven’t, but my ex had one and I was there before and after. It is general anesthesia so there will be a while to wake up even if the colonoscopy itself doesn’t take long. My current partner had surgery on Friday (everything’s fine!) and it was hours before she was lucid and satisfied their requirements for discharge.

I’ve heard the clearing out process referred to as “the night of 1000 waterfalls” :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Be prepared to get familiar with your toilet!

Yeah, I got put under once before when I got my wisdom teeth pulled at UCLA dental school. No insurance, only cost $500 to get all four pulled. The student put the needle in my arm and asked to me to count backwards from ten, did that and wasn’t unconscious yet. The last thing I remember was getting to zero and hearing her say to the doctor,”He’s still awake!” all panic-y and shit. And then I was out haha.

But yeah, my girl was saying that the “going under” and “coming out of it” processes were probably the reason why it takes so long. Either way, I’m kinda freaking out about it right now. Or not even freaking out, but thinking,”Maybe I’ll just cancel this shit…”

Yeahhhhh, not looking forward to that, either haha.

You know what’s funny? The tank in our toilet developed this tiny hairline crack in it a couple days ago, I dunno if we had an earthquake that caused it or what, but it leaked all over the place until we turned the water off. There’s a guy in that bathroom replacing it right now and I’m 99% certain my girl got it handled so quickly because she knew that I was gonna be in there a lot tomorrow haha.

Anyway, yeah… Fuck… I was all for it, just like,”Fuck yeah! Let’s do the colonoscopy! I don’t care! I’m a Tough Guy!”. And now I’m freaked out. I’m sure it’ll be fine, though. Right? Right??? Haha…

Enjoy your liquid “diet” tomorrow, it definitely does what it is intended for  Really though, not a big deal other than the prep is a pain in the ass, literally.

Fuck… Is it? That’s one of the things I was worried about, is, like… Am I gonna be hurting afterwards? I have not read a thing about it, I don’t wanna know, I wanna go in there totally oblivious and just do it.

I wish I could get drunk beforehand haha…

My girl’s read about it and every time she starts to tell me something, I’m like,”Shut up! Don’t say anything! I don’t wanna know!” But now I’m asking, I guess haha…
