Bud Rot Question!

I had a huge fat cola and today i found some bud rot on it, it barely starting and it was on a very little part of the mail cola. I immediately I snipped and threw it out, as well as buds surrounding it even if they looked fine. in total less than 1/4 of the cola was binned.

My question is: the rest of the plant is still in the pot, can I let it finish? or should i harvest too? the rest of the buds buds are not nearly as big or fat, but im not sure what to do in this case.

I have experience with bud rot outdoors, the rest should be fine, just put a fan directly on the effected plant and check in between buds every day until harvest.

Just watch them like a hawk. I had to strip some bud due to mold before but it didn’t ruin the harvest. Just keep inspecting them thoroughly and keep that air moving. What is your RH?

it bumped to 60% for a couple days (its the veg/autoflower room) and it increased after i put some plants in it. I thought 60% would be fine, but most likely the bud was so fat that humidity within the bud was much higher. the stem felt wet.

Thank you!!!

Use LABS next time around through early budding, works well to prevent budrot.
IMHO

It may pull through & may not but that rh is too high for really dense buds IMO

I’m fighting it too outdoors in Hawaii & need to see if I can get something called dr. Zymes that @gramps has recommended a couple of times & his buds were competition size donkey dicks :sunglasses:

Just a tip man. You can still get some BHO budder from the infected buds. I had some outdoor a few years ago that got attacked by caterpillar. The little effers defecate way in the colas and cause botrytis. I lost a ton but kept it all and made the budder with 10x butane. It came out incredible and I enjoyed many dabs from that though my tolerance didn’t appreciate it, lol. Just wanted to give you a heads up about that just in case.

It’s sad that this rot goes after dense fat buds

It broke my heart last year

I clipped the infected area out and at least 1/4 of the cola

I lowered the RH as best as I could and increased air flow from 68 % to 50

I looked at each main every day found 3 more spore
Buds where the size of baseballs :baseball: I cried like a baby lol :joy:

It was late spring heavy rain outside the heat was hi and so was the RH inside
Dehumidifier died lol too cheat to buy a new one

Watch them closely and increase air flow

Best wishes

I wonder would uv light help this problem it does help PM

If that botrytis went to spore, lookout for a massive issue soon with that same rh%. If not you should be ok if you are attentive. Keep rh as low as possible and keep a lookout for bud leaves dying. If you find a dead or dying leaf there is most definitely bud rot at the core of the bud where that leaf attaches. You’ll have to really keep a lookout. Good luck!

If you are removing infected parts, clean your scissors with alcohol after every snip. Helps stop YOU from spreading it around! Botrytis sucks :frowning:

I have pulled plants. Because of rh was to high to long.

Day 14 of drying, start snipping & bagging. Not only was it over-dried… I Notice something odd… grab the loop. Deep inside the bud I see what appear to be spider web like strands, just a few, 3-4, barely noticeable. Then I see it on 2 more colas. If I didn’t have a loop I’d be vaping it now

And all 1 pound+ of the harvest went in the trash!

Ahhh such a bummer, 4 months down the drain.

Grow #2, a failure.

dam sorry to hear that, budrot sucks. When do you think the rot started flowering or during drying?

That sucks dude. Had that on my first grow… Second was fine. But I’m worried about it on the third. It gets humid as shit where we are, so it’s definitely an issue.

If its on 2 plants in a tent, is it even possible the 3rd is clean?

Humidity never went over 65% once.

Most likely, no… If mold is growing it’s everywhere

Edit: shoot for 55ish
