The POS hit 2 of my Sour Grapes also. Glad I came in and checked things today. The cages should fix the problem
20200520_180148|375x500My second favorite plant in the world. Something else I grow but this one takes a minimum of 10 years to harvest. Iāve made many, many thousands walking the woods harvesting this. Any of you alall know what it is?
It has to be Ginseng. I never hunted it but I lived in the Appalachians a few times and the locals made it part of their yearly income. Pot, too. Liquor, too. heh.
@GMan that is it. Iāve been harvesting the wild for over 40 years and growing it for over 30. The Chinese believe it has many medicinal properties and have been using it for thousands of years.
I used to watch one of those reality tv shows about it. I forget the name. It was sort of like that moonshining show. Itās a way of life.
I remember that show but forget the name also. Believe it or not right as that show was airing was the best market I had ever seen. The show did make it look like it was a get rich thingā¦i never new a rich digger, most are poor hillbillies. That year I sold for 1200.00 a pound of dried root. Now let me say it takes an unbelievable amount of work to dig 10 pounds plus it helps to have many years experience. Everybody and their brother started digging thanks to that show and flooded the market with small root. The next year you couldnāt get 400.00 a pound. Now it is around 800.00.
Hello once agian everyone. Sorry I havenāt updated like I should have. I am having a terrible problem with my internet connection, like I donāt have one from home. Hopefully they are getting it lined out. Iāve also put in a huge garden, food plots, caught I donāt know how many raccoonā¦100 plus(animal control workā¦my side gig) and it has quit raining and we are dry as heāll here.
Most of my plants are looking great. I have a few that are not up to par but overall Iām happyā¦we just need some rain so I can stop packing water
This is BOG Sour Strawberry #1 looking great. The lab is a big boy so he gives you some idea the size of the plant
It has some pretty crazy upright growth
This is a BOG Sour Blutooth on the left and a Bodhi Herrer Hashplant on the right. There is going to be some fire right there. I canāt wait to sample the Bluetooth and I love the HHP already
Great thread @Bullskinner just love those outdoor shots! Girls looking healthy congrats
Yeah theyāre kickin it real nice. What region are you in. We have been bone dry here in southern Colorado but got lots of rain and hail the last few days.
Grows looking good! Cages work for rabbits, a 22 is also pretty effective lol.
I had no idea about ginseng, I thought you could just buy it at the grocery store? I think Iāve been confusing it with ginger lol. Iāll have to see if it grows here in Canada and keep an eye out for it.
Oh yeah, ginseng country. Sorry for the lapse. Heh
#Tinytuttle thanks much. Iām not a very good photographer but Iāll do my best on those pics. I hope I get better as time goes by.
#GMan Iām in the hopeless Land of Lincoln and let me say Iām a long ways south of Chicago. As I was posting earlier I had to come in because it started to rain. Iād say we only got 1/4-3/8 of an inch but hey, Iāll take it. It will buy me a couple days. We could really use a couple inches over 3-4 days. I havenāt seen corn over knee high yet and it usually head high by now
And #breached thanks. I would take care of them if I could see them. They have a lot of tall cover where they are at and I havenāt laid eyes on one yet. My box traps have all been busy on jobs but they are slowing down so hopefully here real soon I can set them and start thinning them out. A good buddy has beagles but itās a large area really grew up and we would never see them. Snares would be best but the neighbors have a beagle that is back in there constantly and Iād catch him sure as hell
Here is a BOG Sour Grape. I canāt wait to try this one, itās BOG gear it has to be fire
This is a Bodhi GG4 Ć SSDD. Real happy with this plant. If I can keep the critters and rippers away itās going to be a big one. Oh yea, and keep it hydrated and fertilized
