Can CBD help diabetes patients?

I wanted to share some potentially life-altering information I have acquired. I have an elderly grandmother, almost 90 years old, that has had debilitating type 2 diabetes for around 60 years. She was the type that would pass out at the Christmas party and we would have to rush to give her orange juice. Her blood sugar levels would vary from almost comatose, to extremely high. She had to check her sugar levels constantly, because she wasn’t one of the diabetics that responded well to any type of treatment. Several years ago I read about the benefits of using CBD for type 2 diabetics. CBD is known to help regulate blood sugar, amongst its many other beneficial medicinal uses. I told my grandmother about this several years ago. She kind of shrugged It Off, not believing it could be true, but she began using CBD cream for her swollen joints as a way of letting me know that she believed it could be medicinal. I don’t know why no one in the family bothered to tell me, including her, but in addition to her joints shrinking down to a normal size, her diabetes has disappeared. I don’t mean she has it a little bit, or occasionally has problems. I mean her diabetes is gone and she no longer takes insulin, and her doctor took her off the pump, stating that her pancreas must have miraculously started working again. I know that indeed it was a miracle, but it was a miracle made possible by a very special plant. I know all diabetes is bad, but I assure you all she was in the upper percentage of the worst. I felt I needed to spread this information in hopes that other people can be helped too. Of course not everybody is the same, but if it helped her, there are other people out there that CBD can help. Of the various methods of delivering CBD into the body, smoking is one of the best ways, creams rubbed on the body are another great way of delivery. I was surprised to learn that way down on the list, taking CBD orally was listed. It’s one of the worst ways to get it into your body. The CBD particles are too large to cross into cells oh, and your liver ends up processing much of it, and you pass it out of your system. Too much CBD can actually be bad for your liver. I learned this from, of all people, Tommy Chong, who has partnered with a doctor to come up with a new nano-sized CBD particle, so that the CBD can be easily and readily absorbed into the system. It’s worth looking into, for a 6-month Supply the price is very reasonable. There’s a daytime in a nighttime version. I hope others have similar stories they can share

There’s lots of CBD frauds out there. I’ll find out what brand my grandmother is using. All I know is that it was full spectrum, and looked like Grease, similar to hash oil. I told the guy I work with about CBD, and he has been using it for several weeks now. He said his blood sugars have been normal when he wakes up, which is very unusual for him.
@Who, perhaps the CBD work so well for my grandmother because she has no THC in her system. CBD and THC both attached to the same receptors, and if your receptors are full of THC, the CBD cannot attach and help your body. That’s my understanding anyway.

I dont doubt the CBD helps, we had tried some from the dispos here and nothing, i was gifted some cbd flower in mich, this was a whole nother beast, it helped me a bit with pain that thc doesnt seem to help with, like arthritis in my hands, and while I had it i slept better, Glad to hear its helping your Grandmother!

hello, diabetic here. Been that way all my life. I would say most claims about weed and diabetes are loaded with hogshit. I mean, nothing is going to cure up my diabetes. Sometimes though when blood glucose levels are bouncing around and I wake up in the morning wondering why I’m alive still, the weed helps. Depending on your cluster of disease for diabetes, you can expect lots of things to happen. I knew this girl who woke up one day and her pancreas started producing insulin again, that shit happens don’t let the doc tell you otherwise. Only the specialist knows these things. For most of the “type 2” you can lose 8% fat off your pancreas and recover. There is never a “typical case”.

@JoeCrowe that means you are type one right? There is a big difference between type 1&2. My Ex-BIL was type 1 and my sister, Mom & Grandma where type 2. I was on the cusp. I was able to drop back to normal with a major weight loss. My other sister dropped to normal after a 150lb lost. (her ex was the type 1). If rubbing full spectrum cbd lotion on my old joints helps any, I’ll take it.

So glad to hear the good news @Upstate there a podcast out there called “cannabis health radio” that I listen from time to time not sure of diabetes myself but it’s known to help many different conditions we all know that. I personally make CBD tincture and it has helped me in so many ways I encourage you to listen and share any information with them and others you may just get an air spot in the program sharing is healthy healing IMO

Here is there latest pod cast ! Many others on there that are truly inspiring!

yah I know, the type 1 and type 2 is old-school knowledge though. It’s more of a cluster of disease. 5 clusters, they say now. heh heh as I said most “type 2” can recover after losing 8% of the fat off their pancreas. The secret is you have to perform the weight loss ASAP before your pancreas really gives up the ghost and stops producing insulin altogether.
I’m hitting the group sessions with the specialist, it’s peppered with "type 1"s and "type 2"s that have transitioned to insulin. I know I can just say shit like oh drop a few keys and recover from the disease, but I know it’s more difficult than that sometimes. When you are in a different disease cluster and they’re like ohh you’re type 2 just drop some keys. And you grab your head and scream “I wiiiiiish!!!” It’s complicated.

My grandmother has never had even 8% body fat. She’s always been tiny. Hundred percent recovery. Diabetes cured. Her doctors are all baffled. There is no explanation, except that it mysteriously disappeared after she began taking CBD. She may have been taking insulin when she didn’t need it for a while after starting the cbd. We will never know. She’s been fully recovered from diabetes for a full year now. No episodes

My grandmother’s knuckles shrank down to half or a third of the size they were before taking CBD.

no, I know… it’s just like this ok. Please understand I’m not trying to shit on lifes mysteries or something. But if you have the diabetes, please seek medical help don’t take CBD and think it’s going to cure it. I make this plea for the health and safety of everyone involved. Cannabis isn’t going to cure your serious medical condition, seek real help. End Public Service Announcement.

@JoeCrowe I agree whole heartedly. I have TYPE 1 Diabetes and the closest thing to a cure I had was playing pickleball 6-8 Hrs a day 7 days a week right before Covid. Eating close to 10,000 calories of healthy food a day, I wouldnt need short acting insulin at all. Still needed long acting. Endocrinologist was very pleased.

Wonderful to read such great news and thanks for sharing with the community. I am going to pass this information onto my friends parents and hopefully we can get them trying some new things out.

Cheers

Thats interesting, I would have thought ingesting oil was the best way to have it. I use it that way so does the wife, maybe switch to smoking or rubbing the oil on instead and see what happens.

Cheers.

@Shadey, me too. I’ll have to give Tommy Chong the credit for that one. It does make sense being that the particle size is so large, and explains why the cream I got from Sebring works so much better than the other method ( ingesting oil )I’ve tried. Pain literally disappears or gets knocked down a few pegs within 10 minutes. Shoulder aches at the end of the work day disappear nearly as soon as I put the cream on. Making the CBD particles nano-sized makes the delivery into the body ten times more efficient. Interestingly enough, the CBD being sold by Tommy Chong is one-tenth the strength of what people normally buy for a month. 100 mg as opposed to a thousand. I was shocked to hear that it could be bad for your liver if taken in excess. Still finding that one hard to believe

Yeah that raised my eyebrows as well, my wife on occasions when her arthritis is bad, wakes up in the dark and just pumps half a mil of oil straight into her mouth, as it sits next to her on the side table. I will tell her to make sure to just use the 0.05 dose, if she keeps using the oil.

The good news is, if you use it another way it doesn’t have to go through your liver. So you can have as much as you want. Meaning transdermal or smoking is okay

@Brenvi Make sure to get the good stuff. Most of it is synthesized these days and is not real. A small tube of it will cost you around $100 and will have the consistency of grease. @YoBigdaddy has an excellent topical…

I’ve read several sources stating THCV as showing positive signs of regulating blood sugar levels in type 2 patients. Here’s is an older source but I’m sure you can find some newer findings:
