CBD/ THC for Seizures

Hey  , good evening OG.

I’m talking to someone who has seizures that aren’t responding well to the meds she’s already on.

I don’t think the docs have suggested CBD tinctures or what not for her , and she says it’s too many medicine to cross with CBD ( I kinda call bs but what do I know )

If you have any experience with this topic , if you would like to share how it helped or didn’t help you , I would be so appreciative.

I’m trying to gather enough positive information about this so I can show her that maybe the docs know what they’re doing BUT, why haven’t they suggested CBD? Ya know what I mean?

Charlotte’s web was named Charlotte because the story of the Little girl named Charlotte who didn’t respond too any of the seizures meds, finally was able to take CBD tinctures and it completely stopped them ( as long as she took the CBD daily )

Thank you OG. I don’t want to bash doctors for not suggesting CBD, but in a day and age where it’s known that CBD is quite effective… kind of blows my mind they wouldn’t suggest it… again I’m sure the doctors don’t have ill intentions but if the meds don’t work… why not CBD :-;

what meds is she on? that list may be important to figure out if there are any interactions that she should be aware of. i’m not a dr either and it probably is bs, but without knowing for sure that’s a hell of a chance to take.

Fair point. If I talk to her more today I will try and figure out why she said that and see if I can get a list !!!

I had non epileptic seizures from a brain injury. I was on many meds…trazadone, seroquil, morphine, lithium….to name few.

I did start to use cannabis while on these meds in an attempt to get off pharma.

I was successful, but I also went on a strict vegetarian diet. Then once seizures were gone I introduced meat into my diet.

The strains that helped me were…

Golden Goat
Super Rich
Ghost Train Haze

I would mix CBD (super rich) with Ghost Train Haze or Golden Goat and smoke a jay, also would use pure CBD tinctures as a daily dosage.

Besides growing your CBD, there is another option of buying either the CBD isolate or the full spectrum and mix with a carrier oil like MCT. More immediate return and ability to use. Very inexpensive way to make meds. Take a look at this company, https://freshbros.com/ I have purchased from them a number of times. Good luck finding something that works.

My niece has ALS, she uses 1:1 strains for tick and seizure control, it has made a huge improvement in her quality of life.

My friend and brother in growing was using this product from Pono life Maui and he said it was really effective at seizure control and at lessening symptoms when they could dose his brother during his episodes. It was their Kula Cherry tincture that they discontinued and it came in 1:1, 1:10, 1:100 and 1:300 and they found best results pairing the 1:1 as his routine use and the 1:300 as part of his acute treatment and it cut down on the duration and jerkiness of his movements. I’m sure it could be recreated or is available in similar quality by other vendors.

I’m not sure what his pharmaceutical plan is though but they do make sure he maintains his med routine as well but his condition includes cerebral palsy and epilepsy

Some prescription drugs can actually cause seizures.

Oh for sure. Shes got a brain degenerative illness affecting her and amongst other illness So I wouldn’t be surprised if the medications shes taking already has issues being taken together . I haven’t gotten a medication list yet, and will not push for it because it could be quite personal !

All n all, I just hope she takes some of my advice and talks to her doctor about CBD.

I already see plenty of evidence that suggests CBD can outright stop seizures. So I hope I get through to her ;p. Especially since the meds arent working anyway.

It really depends on what type of epilepsy the person has, there are very many different forms. The kind I have is stress induced, non photosensitive as well so I can be around strobe lights all day long.

My form of epilepsy does not benefit from CBD at all, I’ve tried it all in various forms from tinctures to CBD vapes and capsules but again it comes down to what the person actually has. Hers could a form like mine and the THC would actually help more than the CBD.

Hey guys this isnt related to CBD/ THC for Seizures but im curious. If your dealing with hypertension do you still smoke cannabis ? Im not on any medication at the moment for mine because no insurance , but It does make me wonder. I know my blood pressure spikes when I smoke. Sometimes quite high

Try pure trehalose, a natural sugar consisting of two glucose units, or if you want a natural source it comes in Asian and South American honey, not North American honey, most mushrooms, and possibly insects, lol.

Must be placed under the tongue or with mushrooms microwave them so they melt in your mouth or your stomach enzymes will degrade it before it is absorbed.

It activates your immune system to eat the plaque off of your arteries and you’ll be lowering your blood pressure permanently and near immediately. Just 100mg under the tongue daily should make you feel like you’re decades younger with regards to your blood pressure in only a few weeks. Doctors won’t tell you this because you’ll spend maybe $20 on pure trehalose and never need to see them again! Of course, that is if atherosclerosis is the cause.

Cbg binds to benzodiazepine receptors so that could help you calm down as well.

Also parsley/apigenin binds to benzodiazepine receptors too and will drop blood pressure. I eat a bowl of parsley every day as part of my veggies myself for this.

Cbdv should help with seizures too like cbd but it’s possibly a much smaller therefore cheaper dose

I have a problem with very high blood pressure.
I am on meds for it, but I have found smoking or eating cannabis lowers my blood pressure even more to an acceptable rate.
I normally run 180.
Take my prescription pill and I am down to 160, take some edibles and I am down to 140ish.
Apparently that is still too high for some doctors/nurses likings but it’s the best I can do. :man_shrugging:

Wow , that really shows the differences in biology across all of us

Today I woke up at 6pm after a nap and checked the BP, It was 159: 113 with a heart rate of 78. I smoked some red velvet cake and checked it soon after. It was 160 : 114 with hr of 96.
Checked it like 30 mins after this because I noticed I was feeling a little worse and ye it was 164: 124 with hr of 99.

It was already elevated sure, but the spike is pretty prevalent after smoking . Maybe it is strain dependent :-; Which is interesting, I don’t get racy vibes off this flower whatsoever

Thank you for these tips brother. I am quite young at 26. But High blood pressure and other illness runs in the family . Add on my stagnant behavior that has gotten worse ( I think I am severely depressed although I dont inherently feel sad ) vaping nicotine, and not the greatest diet…

So I will for sure be looking into your suggestion. Do you know if CBGo binds too the benzodiazepine receptors as well?

Since we are in the growing season down here, I’ll see if I cant grow some fresh outdoor parsley

I ask because since 3 days ago, I was out with my mom shopping at costco , and I started getting dizzy, weak feeling, some tingly in the arms , weird overall feelings. I mean I was considering 911 because my moms got too much anxiety too drive me somewhere. ;-; ( she only likes driving places she goes frequently )

The next day, I woke up and it was elevated a little, by time I got too 5pm and have been smoking all day, I started feeling just like I did at costco, and it progressed worse than costco. I ended up laying in bed and not getting out.

So two days in a row with these worrysome feelings. Todays actually had the highest BP readings I’ve gotten but I haven’t felt it as much as the previous two days. I did notice though when the BP was up, It was kind of fatiguing and I got quite warm. Like my room ac was set too 69 and I was hot still ;-;

Currently Ive smoked some cbd leftover from all my last gilded extracts haul, I will be checking BP to see if I get a similar reaction.

You are very welcome.

I also use aspirin for headaches and blood pressure but you have to be careful not to bleed with that.

Also try astaxanthin if you think high testosterone might cause high blood pressure for you, it stops the conversion to dht which is many times more potent. I also use that lol.

Parsley might cause low iron so I eat some cereal each day too.

If cbg-o is the acetate form i think it is, then yes after the hour or so it takes to cleave the acetate off it will be normal cbg.

I’ve been trying to beat this devil for a few years now myself lol… it’s definitely no fun to feel like my heads going to explode all the time
