Cannabis Consumption Clubs

The idea of consumption clubs really intrigues me. I want to know more about running a consumption club. Obviously there are a lot of legal issues with opening up a place like this but it seems its being done with varying levels of success across the country. Some states even have licenses for consumption clubs. It doesn’t appear like it has been done in my state yet and there are no licenses I can find. I have a lawyer looking into the legal side. Let’s have an open discussion about the pros, cons. and opinions on private cannabis clubs.

I would love to hear from people who have visited these clubs.

  1. Are they fun?
  2. was it worth your money? How much was it?
  3. Did you bring your own products? Or delivery or what?
  4. Did you use the clubs smoking accessories?
  5. What other activities were available at the club?
  6. Was there food and drinks available? If so, what?
  7. Was there booze available?

If anyone on here owns or works at a consumption club I would really like to pick your brain.

To be honest it is kind of my dream. I would love to own one.

We had several in the Springs. We are down to one left, and they stay open under the guise of a church. Apparently if you call yourself a church you can get away with a lot. In the US the laws around churches are written purposely vague to cater to different religions, and they use that as a loophole.

If you make a “donation” you can turn your money into “prayer points” which can then be exchanged for “sacramental flower and oils”.

The church has had a few different owners now. It is free to go inside, and you don’t have to buy anything. You can just show up and smoke with friends.

There is a dab bar, where for two prayer points ($2) you can take a dab. The old owners used to have some fancy pipes and an X Box set up for gaming.

They have tables set up and a large screen TVs usually playing movies. Sometimes the radio is on instead.

There is an outside area with a gazebo I like to smoke at too.

I like the place a lot, though I don’t usually socialize there. Honestly most people seem to smoke alone, or with whoever they came with. You don’t see a lot of groups mixing like in a bar.

This is a very interesting take on the idea. Perfect way to create a co-op with low cost medicine. However, challenging the state laws and licensing on cannabis sales seems too risky. But even without supplying medicine a church model is quite interesting. I wouldn’t mind a pastors salary, in the USA they can get as high as $130k a year according to salary.com

The research I have done shows most clubs charge a membership fee because it has to be private. Also, most seem to be “bring your own” style. Seems they make money off of memberships, snacks/drinks, renting equipment like dab rigs, and some sell headshop like wares. Seems like setting up a partnership with a dispo that delivers could be a nice way to handle it.
