Cannabis Current Events (Part 1)

Sort of a click-bait headline.
Interesting, though.

Legal weed is only profitable on a corporate merger level. The lps who were sure homegrowers wouldn’t affect their demand forgot the basics of big business. To sell garbage, it has to be price competitive and available everywhere.

For sure.
The never ending folly of governmental meddling.

Yep! If ya want something done wrong, leave it to our leaders. Ya know it wasn’t going to be perfect, but legalization is panning out just fine for self sustainers. Pulled 5 lbs. of legal outdoor goodness off my legal 4 plants. And no possession limit in private residences for dried product…there are some pluses… Remember the golden rule “play by the rules, to your advantage… NOT theirs.”

I smell an inside job…if I had a million dollars worth of anything bet your ass I would have had armed guards 24/7 and before anyone jumps my ass look up the hourly rate for a armed security guard it’s like 12-20 an hour…takes a lot of time to cut through a roof and steal all of that…

Here’s my guess. They’ve already spent moneys based on their initial projections $$$$.

Didn’t meet their mark and they wan’t to avoid the pending budget shortfall which would pop-up eventually. All of the pork-belly “promises” the politcos made is in jeopardy.

So, being the brilliant strategists that they are, they’ll just escalate their problems and encourage the exact things the industry has been warning about.

Other than lip service, they could give a damn about their constituents direction. They do care about the $$$$.

Either that, or they want to keep the drug war alive…

Well, the Garden State has yet to approve Recreational cannabis …only Medical, so far.
So we will see.
Seems to me this is a far superior approach to taxation.

NJ marijuana legalization: Legal weed may have cheap taxes if approved by voters in 2020

Well, I have been smoking weed since 1967, essentially non-stop. The only times I did not smoke were for tolerance breaks, which I implemented in the mid ‘80s (?). I smoked boat loads throughout the 1970’s, then began to taper off usage.
So I am a Boomer that tried weed, liked it, and never quit.

It appears unlikely that Florida will allow home growing of cannabis.
Regardless of voters’ wishes.
It is only about the money.

High hopes, no cash: Florida’s homegrown pot amendment withers while industry initiative sprouts

He grows mostly for prized smokable flower, rather than the biomass market that fetches $30 to $50 a pound

What? Is that accurate?

Interesting.
I don’t know much about hemp. I was also curious about “prized smokable flower”.
Evidently there is a $71million smokable hemp flower market.

Recent research from the Brightfield Group concludes that the market for smokable hemp flower is projected to grow to $70.6 million in 2019, up from $11.7 million in 2018, representing a year-over-year growth rate of over 500%, which strongly outpaces other segments of the overall CBD market.

Seems like top shelf hemp flowers are $300 to $450 per lb
Biomass from $30 to $70 lb.

Smoking hemp?
I’m obviously missing something, because hemp is for fibre…rope, paper, textiles type of stuff.
Unless, is hemp being promoted as a weight loss thing? or maybe quit smoking thing?
I’ll have to read the link when I get time, maybe mid 2020? :unamused:
