Yes i don’t see why not. I just unplugged it to stop the fan. Those motors usually don’t mind being stopped by not something i would do. But it is absolutely necessary to keep the coil clean. I didn’t look due to where i have the unit located but I’m sure there is a coil in the back also. I may be wrong but i will find out once I’m home.

Can yous not fashion some kind of simple exterior air / dust filter ?

Possibly… im sure it would be easy to do… but will it hinder the fans? Will it make them work harder or get hot etc…

I worry alot lol @ifish

Ok, got it, what do you think the gap is in the 90 degree corner??? If I take some off the bottom, it will drop that 90 and give it more slope. So front, back to the 90 is a good fit, take say 1/4” off the bottom, and then it should fit as intended or “dreamed up” LOL
Have to get the wife out of hospital “jail” today, so I’ll get with the kid tomorrow when I get to the shop, look at the file, make adjustments, and try to get at least 1 made over the weekend.

@Terpsnpurps then add another fan in the new filter unit ( outside canatrol ) to assist the original fan inside

Two layers of women’s stockings may be enough also

You can shine a light through the holes in the side of the unit and see the fins and how dirty they could be. Mine have collected a decent amount of dust and as soon as I get a chance I’ll take that cover off and clean it.
I don’t see any way to easily filter the air. It’s very very similar to a computer tower but with more holes. You’re gonna have to get in there and do some cleaning at some point.

Hows it going over here… its been a bit since anyones talked… im getting ready to cure… after watching several cannatrol vids it has been made aware that default settings are .5 dp lower than they found scientifically… they did this to ensure bla bla bla…

So i am at the minimum going that much higher … this is where people are having too dry issues… why would they do that?? It kinda pisses me off

On top of that their employees get 8… count em… 8 friggin vacations a year… wow bro! I dont regret my purchase but that also really pisses me off

Been busy as hell trying to get this Flagship store done, a lot of product needs to get finished and on site yet. Haven’t really been on lately, as I’m pretty burned out after work, heat and stress take a toll on these old bones lately, LOL.
Don’t know why the thought behind the .5 DP discrepancy, it’s kind of what Jetdro figured out a while ago with his settings, but, I tried his settings here, and they didn’t really work for me, as my ambient weather is much different than his. I think they did that as a “baseline” because IMO the ambient weather around the Trol really does make a difference on how the machine runs.

They did it to ensure no mold or mildew

The standard settings should guarantee commercial sellers that they can pack the product after 8 days without it getting moldy.

Cannatrol for cannabis producers is also about drying as quickly as possible, otherwise a sales argument is missing, because they advertise that time is money and the 60/60 Legacy method takes longer.

For the home grower or the producer who doesn’t care about the extra costs, they can then find the perfect settings for themselves.

Well… what im saying is cannatrol went an extra .5 below safe… that makes zero sense to me… when its scientifically proven to be ok and better at .5 higher

Now is yours too wet or too dry then when you did that?

@Terpsnpurps It was a bit too wet, as I live in Michigan, and usually when I start running, we still have real high humidity. It’s a bit dryer down in Texas where Jetdro is. Factory settings work well in my house where I have it sitting (living room).
Tried it in the basement, too humid down there, and it’s way too wet after the 8 day, hovers around 68-69% unless I run it 3-4 days longer. The living room, 8 days factory settings, Grove Bags, done. Ranges 58-61% depending on ambient temp and humidity.

Its this that has me totally comfused

Thats around 67 68 % humidity for dry… and cure a little less etc… im sure cannatrol stated its a users settings to not be liable for too wet… but it looks like too wet may be best from this statement… was also thinking about jim and the hay smell… i think hes drying too fast and thats where its coming from…

Ill try those, and see what they produce. I do prefer cooler and longer though but, 66°F is not too high.

The user manual says to take measurements of your buds humidity levels every couple of days and adjust/tune your unit/dry accordingly, so that it works best for your environmental conditions.

The patent shows that the temperature and humidity levels are monitored and, each have predefined limits, controls are in place which ensure that a user doesn’t use settings that would cause the temp to drop too low (the temp can’t approach the dew point or you would get condensation and rot) or rise too high (too quick a dry would leave you with harsh, hay smelling buds). Its a modded refrigerator whose logic has been modified to monitor dew point, instead of humidity, and enforces strict limits on temperature and humidity levels in order to maintain a stable and viable dew point. If you had a box or room that had the same environmental controls, that room would act exactly like the commercial unit.

Yup that is what i think too…

Cooler is just a myth made by people who used compressor based devices to maintain… the idea was to never let compressor kick off to maintain a rocksteady stabity… if they could have achieved this at warmer temps they would have @herojuana.tom

And if my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle!!!
That’s the rub bud… most people including myself CAN’T control for all the variables in anything close to an economical, thoughtless, easy means to do so. Set it and forget it.

Also, the amount of people that think they have a right to buy something at cost is astonishing. And if not at cost, they get to dictate the small stack of pennies the inventor is allowed to make. The employees… fk them!!!
Don’t you realise who I am!!! I can build a Cannatrol for $25!!!

100%! Everyone has their perspective priorities, some people like expensive cars, makeup, dirt bikes, you name it. I’m fkn thrilled with mine! Glad his employees are taken care of in the process, take care of those who take care of you!
Profits are none of your business, unless you’re investing…
Want the product being offered or not? It’s a choice we make.

I’ve had zero issue with defaults and I’m in a very humid environment. Used to get moldy weed regularly, not any more. That in itself is totally worth it to me. I figure the dude got a patent, must be doing something right.
I have adjusted the cure stage to go for ten days before I paper bag it and store it inside until the next grow is ready. Then it goes into Grove’s and is stored until I can give it away lol.

And my bud is spectacular.
