Chat room (let's chat!) šŸ’¬ (Part 1)

Sigh. Freedom of speech is that the government wont penalize you, jail, or punish you, with limits, for speech. It has NOTHING to do with internet forums not run by the government. It has no application here. At all. Except as a buzz word/response for people saying dumb things and being told theyā€™re dumb by other people who are not the government and arent infringing on any freedom of speech.

You have NO freedom of speech from the mods here. Why do you think people just got banned for what they said?

ā€œBut my Freedumbsā€ is getting pretty old coming from people who dont understand them.

Ok all, I donā€™t have it in me to have another vaccine debate right now. I have to head up to the ICU to do some work now. Only 4 active covid cases in that wing so far today but I still got to get the gear on. Goes with all the droplet warning signs. You all have a good one, TTFN.

Of course itā€™s still allowed bud and you are not rubbing me the wrong way. I donā€™t agree with you nor do I agree with my son. It happens. I donā€™t take it personally, it goes with being individuals. I spoke to him about this and what I found in his case was a bunch of bullshit he picked up on the web which he based his decision on. I base mine on the the data I get from the health care professionals all around me every day. Either way, itā€™s up to each person to make their own choice. Here is hoping we are both around years from now to debate the next topic

I see you havnt talked to one about it then.

Last note from me:

This isnā€™t a debate. It just reads as someone who grew up with privilege is acting privileged.

End note.

Interestingly, I did zero work in high school. When asked why by my parents teachers and guidance counselors I told them that thereā€™s no point because universities only look at your OAC marks and so grade 11 ainā€™t worth shit.

They grudgingly agreed with mešŸ¤”

@DougDawson youā€™re right!

The 501st do great work!

@Foreigner : I never graduated highschool; but got my diploma cause they left it with grade 9ers and my bestie threatened them for it  . However, graduated with honours on the deans list in college and was working (and still am) in my field of study from before graduating

My degree helps justify my smug sense of superiority but thatā€™s all itā€™s good for :joy:

I have a degree that let me take a test to join a professional organization that I am an inactive memeber of and yet pay them a fee every year to keep my inactive/associate membership so I never have to take that test again if I go active but also may never use the membership and Im just pissing money down a hole? I dunno. Life is weird. I may have paid for the privilage to keep paying.

Donā€™t get me wrong: getting my degree was a very rewarding experience. Iā€™m glad I did it. It was an interesting intellectual exercise.

I like to think it helped hone my insolence but maybe thatā€™s a conceit.

But as far as paper money, no value.

I learned from it but started my own business. So while the experiences helped the degree and membership are just paper now. Just wish it wasnā€™t paper that had a yearly fee . . .

Yes, I think they already have enough of my money.
