Chat room (let's chat!) 💬 (Part 2)

NJ bagels and pizza are the exact same as NYC and anyone who pretends otherwise is more concerned with hometown pride than reality. The same families that brought these things to America with them to one place brought them to the other. You’d have to pretend Manhattan isn’t spitting distance from Jersey to even try and say it isn’t the same shit.

I don’t mean that to sound snarky if it does. Just never got it.

lol yep Jersey was always considered just suburb of NYC lol

Up north east Jersey it still is pretty much, and parts of south Jersey are just Philly suburbs that happen to technically be in NJ. The real personality of the state is between the two and we’re almost never represented. It’s usually the northeast NJ with the NYC influence that is showcased. Sucks when you don’t like them anyway only to have the rest of the country think that’s what your whole state is!

DID work all over Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York… and you’re right cuz part of Jersey is like little New York, and parts of Jersey are like Little Philly lol I’ve seen just that attitude around both parts of Jersey

They might LIVE in Jersey but work in either NYC or Philly

Oh yeah I agree, I just said the city, was at IKEA in NJ had their swedish meatballs then later got slices somewhere neuarby in NJ with NYC in clear view across the river, slices superb, same. Now, Buffalo pizza is a whole different story, no slices to fold, but pepperoni cupped and charred, so good

I somehow slept on Buffalo pizza for the longest time, couldn’t even tell you why but I just never tried it. Finally did like two months ago maybe and I’ve ordered it once a week since  What the hell was I waiting for?!

The “old world” pepperoni? That’s the shit right there! There’s some places that use it exclusively around here but there’s one that mixes it with the wider flatter kind too. I’m getting a pie later for sure now

I like a breakfast sandwich on a good croissant too. For “lighter fare” lol

I once smuggled a whole Taylor Ham (aka pork roll by those southerners) to Utila, Honduras so my entire dive center could enjoy a Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese on a Fresh Roll.

They were pissed it was a one-time deal

That’s not where the NW corner is located bud, That “Central” part is what most see and why they think of the shipping yards in Elizabeth, and not the Forests and Mountains of the NW corner

Nope, all the personality is up here in the sticks

one usually leads to the other in my experience

I meant Buffalo Chicken Pizza, not the town  Sorry I misunderstood what you meant.

Yeah us dumb “southerners” reading the box and all!

Maybe my eyes are going, cause I could swear it says Pork Roll in great big letters right there.

I was including your area, that’s why I said NE was NY junior and not NW. From say Toms River up to you is the real NJ personality. Within a certain radius from Philly is Philly Jr, a certain radius from NYC is NYC junior, and of course that piece of Alabama that somehow landed in Bayville and south of it is it’s own thing :expressionless: The rest of us are Jersey. Most people would never know Pete & Pete was filmed in NJ because it doesn’t fit the stereotypes people have of us.

I’m sorry I can’t like your post but you continually spell Pork Roll wrong and I just can’t abide it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Teampar | Taylor Ham or Pork Roll? - Teampar

Invented by who? Originally known as? Oh yeah, Taylor Ham. Guess I’m the REAL OG here

LOVE the middle section (The “learners”) there, but they are really just traitors to the south.

The way we do our Boston Butt BBQ is called North Carolina style, we do the KC style for ribs and such…. We love this hot shit on fry bread lol fold and eat
