[Closed] Banana OG F4 Seed Co-Op

Me too, It’s confusing???

Well Satan better bite the pillow, because I’m coming for these thrips.

Are there a few satchels in that pot popper ball? That’s an awesome find, that combined with a nice foliar spray would be killer. I’ll be buying the supplies for JohnnyPotseed’s mix next round, because these IPM solutions get pricey quick.

There’s 1 spot left, and you are good to sign up for it.

Damn near woke up my Mrs there

There are 2 plastic bags with 4 sachets in each. I have that and a blue sticky (apparently thrips are attracted to blue more than yellow :person_shrugging:) and they seem to be under control :crossed_fingers:

Thank for the advice and for the recommendation. I bet if I had these, I would’ve had these thrips under control a few days after spotting the first one. I severely underestimated my opponent, Sun Tzu would be disappointed. Also, I received the test kits yesterday and the “virus” I thought I had was a mix of one plant having had slight variegation its whole life, and just lots of thrip damage on it and the other plants in the garden. I killed all my mothers and will now focus all of my attention on my bigger plants. I’ll be buying this in the next 2 days if I don’t see improvement, though, I’m finally not noticing any roaming around.

Word. I’ll be popping quite a few of these along with some accidental Golden Showers hybrids after my next open pollination, which was going to be Nacho’s Strawberry Waffles but is now going to be Archive’s Cake Face. I’m liking the OG hybrids I’ve been growing, so want to keep that streak going. Anyway, I hypothesize that these Banana OGs don’t like high salinity in their media and also don’t do well in rootbound conditions. That’s what I’ll be avoiding on my next go at them.

Of course, it was my pleasure.

Thanks dude, and don’t worry; once people start receiving their Fall box, I can sort some more and come up with a strategy to get another batch out.

Thank you, PineTar! My two Pine Tar Kushes from AKBB are a few weeks from finishing up, excited to try out the inspiration to your username!

I bet, if you have any adults around, you have eggs in your grow media… After a month or more of fighting these buggers, they get everywhere, and they stay there. I had to strip my Blueberry mom down yesterday and added my last couple of sachets to my zone 2,its heartbreaking.

I hope you get em man!!

I’m sorry for your loss. I’ve been soaking the soil, the fabric pots, and the the tent itself after the first spray. I just hit week three though so no more spraying. I’m worried that they’ll gain strength while I think they’re gone, so I went ahead and ordered some of those Steinernema’s you recommended (just a different brand) and some Orius’. Thanks dude!

From my little experience, yeah they’ll absolutely come back, and harder (ie. my zone 2)… It’s kinda like the old original video games where you fight the bad guys level after level, they just get stronger/faster, lol.

Glad you got some, regardless of brand, I hope they kick ass!! I’m going to be ordering a couple more packs and overdosing every piece of media I have at once. I figure, if the adults thrips live 30-45 days, and you have a LOT of predatory mites eating ALL the eggs, there won’t be another generation and you’re done in a month, bingo bango :smiling_imp::grin:

Good afternoon y’all.

It’s time for an update now that everyone is receiving their seeds.

The plants aren’t that sensitive to humidity.

I was over watering. I discovered that the only female with roots extending throughout the 3 gallon pots was Bubby, which never suffered from PM.

The seeds I posted about on Jul 7;

I didn’t sow. I simply tested their germination rate. Once all germinated, they were laid to rest.

However, I did eventually germinate 5 more, 4 of which turned out to be female. I harvested them on Sept. 28:

They were kept in a tent at 70% humidity right up until harvest, which is another reason I doubt they were as mold sensitive as I had believed.

After 13 days of curing, I sampled Figaroa this morning.

I rolled up a nice joint of it. This pheno is the one that smells like overripe bananas to me. It reminded me quite heavily of how my aunts banana cake smells.

The scent translated very well into the smoke. I could taste the banana up until the end of the joint. As for effect (I was drinking black tea as I smoked so that may affect my experience), it had the OG, lower your eyelid-type high, but with a wonderful head clarity. I could feel the couch lock trying to kick in.

As a consumer, one of the most important traits I look for is the ability to stack the effect by consuming more. I personally don’t like high ceiling strains, I typically avoid them. So I rolled another mini joint to test out if I could get higher.

Sure could. Not only does the effect stack, but the flavor does too. As I type this, I feel like I can still taste it.
