My dilemma. 3x3 tray…only holds 1 6gal Octopot. Space not wide enough for 4x4 tray.
Might run trayless. I’ve flooded and spilled before. Didn’t kill me.
Once I ran 2 plants and filled the entire canopy. A 2 and a 3 gal.
Should be easy to fill half canopy with a single 6gal Octopot.

@ifish suggested a liner. Easy for me to make a mini pond.
Glad you mentioned access!
Unlike my usual raised tray with drain - a tray flat on the floor or liner, will actually provide much needed access. I can step in between pots for access to the rear. Especially adjusting light height.
To date I have used access ports cut into the foam on rear wall. Lol.

To raise the hight of the lights at back , why not set up a simple pulley system that runs from the light frame at the back to the front of the tent for easy adjustment : )

Cobbling 2gal smarty onto mini Octo w 1gal res. No modifications to lid with these net pots.
About 1.5 inches between net pot and bottom of res.
(That angel food cake is calling my name. Lol)
