After harvest mix it all together add some 4-4-4, and diverse compost. If in a big container till use plant cover crop and add worms. Use Big 6 in the big container. Once.
If going straight to pots after mix plant cover crop 2-4 weeks chop and drop add mulch and you’re ready to rock.
SIP add cover crop top water chop and drop water in res use SIP cover. Remember to spray the wicking corners when setting up SIP.
The point is to prep the recycled soil a coupla weeks with cover crops and amendments. Recharge is good here.
If I’m reading that fear correctly - and trust I am no expert - but something i’ve learned: “overwatering” does not mean giving too much water at once.
You could go swimming with it and not overwater it (not sure if it needs to wait 30 minutes after feeding or if that’s just broscience )
You Can overwater by giving even small amounts of water too frequently. so dont do That and you’re all good
A few got watered. A few weren’t ready for water yet. Cruising along.
You can’t really see the TK/GFxBBD in the 1gallon but it’s in there. Three seedlings in solo cups of that as well — one I’m almost certain is male. It’s already growing faster and too well, lol. That’s okay though! It’ll go into the isolation chamber when I can confirm sex if it actually is a dude and I’ll collect pollen.
Cranking along. Not much to update tonight — just getting back and checking in on the plants and only one got some water — mostly just letting them cruise along. That flip can’t be too far off. Also, this chop can’t be too far off…maybe another week? Two?
So, of the new seedlings, I’m thinking at least one is probably male just by how damn well it’s growing so far compared to the others. I put it in the jungle as it was hitting the top of the sprouter. I’ll move the others over tomorrow. One is a little ahead of the game in a 1gal already. These are slated for 15gal fabric pots or SIPs.
Good morning! Looking good in here Coff, your plants seem to be liking what you’re doing to em (improving IMO). Be interesting to hear how the DoMeFast turn out and what the smoke is like Have a great day!
Thanks Jpaul! I’m also curious of all the smoke I’m growing and will certainly be writing up some smoke reports! I’m happy taking the time to try to do things proper — but I am very ready to fill a few pipes with my own plants! I can still remember the first time I took my own mushrooms and it’s just nice knowing where everything came from.
I’m also trying to figure out if and when I do….anything….to the DoMeFast.
Looking good boss. I must say, seeing that humidifier pump out the steam right next to those flowers is freaking me out a little lol, but I suppose it’s still early in flower.
It’s usually kicked on when I open the tent — I try to aim it not directly on a plant (and soon it’ll be pumped in the side and less of an eep, lol). So, it’s not always cranking by any means.
I feel similarly (also why I raised it up a bit on top of the upside down pots).
I’ll slowly start to lower the humidity over the coming weeks and into flower. My current tent in flower in the closet with the Maui plant is around 35-45RH right now, which is where I’ll ultimately take the bigger tent as well. It’s the plan at least.
And thank you methodanon! Happy to have you following along!!
Good morning OG ! Some quick shots from the tent this morning (or “noon” for the plants).
9/26 12pm Work(Feeding: RW Microbe Complete and Bio Cat, BuildAVeg(or Bloom), Coconut/Aloe, CaMg+ – all less than standard dosing)
KSS 7/8: No water
Auto 0: No water
TK/GFxBBD 1gal (light water w/ feeding), cups nada
GDP 3/4/6: Watered with feeding
GDP 5: No water
Maui 0: Watered with feeding
Temps have been stable – will start dropping humidity in a few days to a week, starting with a dip down to 65RH. Then in another week or so 60RH. Then a few weeks until 55RH, etc. Most of the plants are in veg – just the one auto that will be a llittle higher humidity than I think I’d ideally like. Should be fine?
Drink the coffee! (smoke the weed!) – have a wonderful day out there!
@CaptainRon I hope the cultivation is going well – when does your season start for work out in the woods?
@Jpaul Have a fantastic day! I’ve got to get caught up on what you’ve got going on!!
@GrowTheAtlas Has it been two weeks yet? lol – the almost there wait is killer!
@Bayarealivingsoil One day I’ll run a tent of autos – they seem like interesting little things. Getting ingredients for LABS this week! I’m going to have to re-read how it’s best used.
@methodanon Still waiting for that sweet chop time on the Maui but soooooon! I’m still paranoid about pollen from that thing.
@seeds2weeds Plants are looking happy! I’m still trying to figure out and dial in feeding/ammending the soil/proper nutrition in general. 1 inch from the light would freak me out, lol – but I’m just happy your little critters aren’t plant crushing. I was really hoping they would turn out chill and it seems they have. Good work!
I got the watering down bro! Now i need to get the organic feeding together.
Hopefully i am able to help you with watering advice. So i do the 10%-20% potsize rule. I used to water ridiculous amounts of water til run off. So much time and water wasted now that i think back on it .
My advice is dont be afraid to push the dryback to find the boundary necessary for dialing things in. Once the leaves start to drop/droop it’s definitely time to water.
My 3 gals start off with 8 cups then i go to 10 once roots are well established.
My 1 gals i start with 2 cups and usually stay at 2 cups until transplant.
I also water every 2-3 days, mostly every 3 days but its all dependent on the plant and conditions.
Haha dude after over a year of constant worrying and freaking out you start to get exhausted and things suddenly become less important. I kept a close eye on them and i was watching for them to become bleached which never happened. Instead they just kept getting closer haha.
Now the kitchen stink wilting has me wondering whats going on. They could have been thirsty since that was day 3 of the dryback. Ill find out today when i see them. If they are perked back up the wilt was from thirst but if they are still wilted it could be a bigger issue at hand like over ferting causing toxicity. Time will tell.
Now that is something that put my on the edge of my seat! Especially when i asked ai and it said spider mites! Ahh you know that feeling of dread and doom and you dont know whats next? I know that feeling too haha! Im glad they are just soil bros helping break down shit in the soil.
I’m really trying to start paying more attention and tracking my watering/nutes to attempt to dial things better. I could see though that after awhile you worry less, lol.
The seedlings all got moved into the tent today! Hopefully happy little TKxGF/BBD plants. There are now four of them in there. Getting crowded but not everything is staying in there – the four are slated for 15gal fabric pots or possibly SIPs if I get my together fast enough.
Should juuuuuust time out okay. Waiting for a little money and getting the other 4x4 geared up – but once the Maui is done in a few weeks I can clean that tent and move them in there if need be for extra setup time with shipping and whatnot.
I think the 1gallon pot is female and will get some better shots soon.
9/27 9pm Work(Feeding: RW Microbe Complete and Bio Cat, BuildAVeg(or Bloom), Coconut/Aloe, CaMg+ – all less than standard dosing)
KSS 7/8: Watered with feeding
Auto 0: Bottom watered a small amount with feeding
TK/GFxBBD 1gal/cups: light water with heavily diluted feeding
GDP3/4/6: No water (approx. 33hrs since water)
GDP 5: Watered with feeding
Maui: No water (approx. 33hrs since water)
@Coffweed plants are going strong! Thankfully I was able to get them corrected before disaster took over! Thank goodness for guano’s and teas .
Hopefully we get started sooner than later. We’ll have some time rebuilding the road so the haulers can get in and out; we’re logging on my road, up a mile. Nice easy commute!
two of my outdoor plants, hope ya don’t mind! Just wanted to share! The sun really puts the frost on
What’s your plan for flowering these girls? You leaving them in the same pots? Just be aware you’re going to need to be on top of them with feeding as I imagine their pots are close, if not depleted at this point. 7 gallon pots are usually good for about 45-55 days depending on the environment and cultivar. Top feeding can take some time for the amendments to breakdown; couple weeks in some cases.
They are also going to stretch like a mother fucker! I flowered in 7 gallon pots and ran out of vertical height by end of week 1. Light was on top of plants as I couldn’t raise it any higher.
Supercropping didn’t help much as they would just snap back the next day…
Might need to find a new home for that exhaust fan; maybe outside the tent.
Looking forward to seeing how it goes for you.
