@corey do you have much trouble with caterpillars in your grow?
Hey Greasy. No not at all. Not even with my true bush plants and we got a lot of them.
Do you have any clues to what repels them? Caterpillar’s are my biggest enemy. They are always burrowing into my buds and pooping, which leads to bud rot
I sure do. I recommend going to a home improvement store like Menards, or home Depot and buy there cheapest liquid chemical pesticide.
Take the bottle with you and without mixing make a ring or 2 around your grow about 5 or six feet away from your plants. It will kill anything that crosses it. You might want to reapply after a rain. You can also buy one of those small 20 dollar hand sprayers and mix a solution of your pesticide in it and spray everything around your plants. That will take care of everything and your bud will be just fine. Don’t forget to spray the ground to
I terminate caterpillars with biological insecticide BTK.
Is that the same thing as BT? I have been using that as I’ve been trying to keep my yard all organic, as I have a dog, and worry about using pesticides with him having free reign of the yard. It seems to work well until the buds get bigger, and then the caterpillars can burrow in deeper to non bt sprayed areas inside the bud.
probably the same thing?

Yep, think it is. How often do you spray your plants with it?
every couple of weeks until bloom starts, usually by then all the caterpillars are dead. Kills thrips and aphids as well. Only downside is rain washes it off.
I was spraying once a week at least up to two times a week. You have to stay on top to them or they will ruin your buds. I sprayed up to a week before harvest even. Manually checking
for them and plucking them off helps as well.
My dog had free roam in the yard also. Check out @Meesh thread she’s using ag netting to keep them away. Good luck!
They use the term BT kind of loosely. BTK is for caterpillars K= kuristaki. BTI is for mosquitos or in our game fungus gnats I= Israelensus. These are naturally occurring organisms and therefore organic. They are non toxic to humans and considered to be absolutely safe and effective. They are also extremely targeted in their toxicity and are harmless to any other insects or animals. Ive used both in indoor and outdoor situations for years and I’m a big fan. Works like a charm.
Hey amigo! Little late to the party hehe …
Hey just wondering about the azomite- how much do you add ?
My American friend has been telling me about this for a few months now and says he is getting some shipped from His hometown. I’m excited to try it
Hey @Leaf. I read so many different measures for applications. What I wound up doing was top dressing a 12x12 area using about 7 pounds, and for my single plants in pre dug holes I just threw a handful at the base of the plants. I don’t plan on reapplying it either. This article below says one cup per 4’×4’ area as a top dress.
I also put down green sand. Both Azomite, and Green sand has silica in it. I can see a difference in the stalk/stem size, and my plants are looking like they really like it. I will be a long time user of both products as of now.

Spinosad is great, derived from a bacteria found in soil at an abandoned rum factory.
These people here will mix and match any amounts of anything from trace element’s to worm castings. There respectable and worth looking into.
I bought some ingredients from them for an open pollination seed run I’m doing on the indoor thread called “I’m gonna run silver mountain”.
Be careful with that it’s a banned substance here due to it’s production of hydrogen cyanide as a decomposition product.
Hey guys. My autos are starting to flower. I think I got lucky with a true purple pheno out of the sugar ghost rose x dark devil. This will be my first true purple in the 20 years iv been growing. Super stoked on this one. @ReikoX is this common in this strain of yours? Do you think the organics brings the purple out? Thanks!
The Dark Devils @Mr.Sparkle worked with were a purple strain. The Sugar Black Rose had some purples in it too. Definitely genetics. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.
Thanks @ReikoX! @Mr.Sparkle how often did you wind up with a purple dark devil pheno?
