I donā€™t think itā€™s reasonable to compare deaths per day for a disease that is still in itā€™s infancyā€¦ Itā€™s a pretty meaningless statistic. You could rewind to the 1960ā€™s and show HIV stats as being nothing. Yet it existed and now itā€™s #4 on that chart, even after ARVs have been developed to combat it.

We are no where near panic nor are we anywhere near fear.

You are confusing and are unable to differentiate this from attention and preparation. If SHTF, youā€™ll then know fear and panic. And, itā€™ll mostly be coming from the same folk calling people fear mongers and trying to shame them because ā€¦ God who knows why.

The East Coast is shutting down and pausing social interaction. Why do you think this is occurring. Because itā€™s just ā€œthe fluā€?

Why? Because youā€™ve said so? No one should be ashamed to do what they feel necessary to protect themselves and their loved ones.

I was talking about this with my wife last night, the first wave of shopping came from the smart people who done it over a few weeks and just gathered some stuff more than usual. The second wave was when some dipshit thought he would need 8 years worth of toilet paper and all the other dipshits followed, now the next wave is starting where the masses panic buy for food and essentials with one group leftā€¦ The deniers nothing is wrong and we have all had a flu before etc. These people will be left out on the streets when the cities are under quarantine and lockdown and all the stores are shut and been empty for a week wondering why they are so hungry and sick.

Its Friday and beer oā€™clockā€¦ my wife and I are using this weekend while itā€™s still reasonably safe in Aus to leave Mr. 8 with the in-laws and go camping and get drunk and ā€˜medicatedā€™ on canna gummies and do what adults do :grinning::woozy_face::wink:.

We are ready for when SHTF.

Its actually like 93% of people recover.

Its still worse than the flu simply on the 3-14 day incubation period. Much more difficult for people w pre existing health issues to avoid it. And as mentioned before, no vaccine like the flu.

Just happened to have that laying around, eh?

Itā€™s of little consequence whether a parent or grandparent died of the regular seasonal flu or of coronavirus.
I for instance, am not too worried about my chance of dying from coronavirus. My mother on the other hand, is a diabetic with leukemia and works full-time as a livery driver bringing elderly and immunocompromised people to doc appts and dialysis. May I worry about the coronavirus, or should I be ashamed?

I think most people in the world have someone they care about thatā€™s at risk. We shouldnā€™t have to be personally at risk to treat the virus with the respect it deserves.

See its similar to the flu in ways tho. Like the actual death rate will in the long run be much less. And when we get a vaccine itwill be very minimal
The ppl still infected have no outcome yet. And the actual cases is estimated to be a lot higher. (Ppl who dont get it bad enough to get treatment)

In the above vid Chris posts info on a study done where data suggests temp and humidity have an effect on the virusā€™ best range of transmissability.

Red lines are bad days to travel.

Upthread I posted a screenshot of the weeks temp in Wuhan when this sh*t went expo.

The ones Iā€™m talking about are the ones walking around with plastic bags on their heads, or plastic jugs and out buying 40 cases of tp and the idiots paying $50 for hand sanitizer those are the panicking ones that should be ashamed. The media has blown this way out of proportion, there have been other bugs that spread just as fast and actually killed more that didnā€™t get this hype

Been there done that! Thing is, though, if SHTF, police will be occupied with other shit than your suspended license. I totally agree though, the ā€œfeverā€ (panic) will be worse than the disease.

You are right, it will be interesting to see just how big the governmentā€™s dick is. Restricting foreign travel is the start, sure most of the cancellations and quarantines are from private organizations and arenā€™t legally enforceableā€¦yet. Itā€™ll happen when there is widespread looting, suspension of habeas corpus, curfews, etc. We really do live in interesting times.

While I do not agree that the virus was designed for this specific purpose, I do think that the people running the show are savvy, and are absolutely 100% capable of using this virus as an opportunity to flex some fascist muscle. Guess weā€™ll see. Right now, the virus is very unprofitable, though, so weā€™ll see how long this lasts. China canā€™t afford to stop manufacturing for a couple months; I suspect that is why they arenā€™t reporting true statistics.
