Covid-19 check in

“We could go through this little song and dance or you can just give me what I want.”

It can’t work that way though. If you can’t prove a certain method or medicine works, insurance won’t pay for it. Pharmaceuticals don’t have any incentive to research things they can’t IP. Nobody pays the expensive process for the burden of proof to undercut the drug market.

I have a problem with that, but you have to be honest that medicine is a business. They exist to make money off of you. They still have medical validity, but unless you want to make medicine not a business, then what you get are the best, profitable options.

This is the problem with the mask thing. I’m not trying to get off topic your. The west is on fire. The levels of lead magnesium sulfate and mercury. Are enough to want to wear a mask. I can’t breathe through my nose so I don’t have a problem wearing a mask. I had some bad sicknesses when I was a child. Strep throat pneumonia stuff like that as a child comes back and haunt you later as an adult.

how are you feeling these days @Howard.Crane ?
Have you continued to experience gradual improvement? how is your healing process going?

I heard some people with long covid experienced improvement after getting vaccinated. Sounds like it helps them produce the antibodies they need to finally clear the virus from their systems. It is still being studied.

I’m in Canada, and I have private insurance, and I’m amazed at how cheap mine/Mrs Foreigners prescriptions are. We arent on anything fancy though.

Hmm, I’m not sure that it can’t. But no, under the current American system it’s not likely.

Acupuncture has been proven to work tho, herbs have been proven to work to an extent (maybe that’s why cannabis has become acceptable…oh no it’s the money, right). I have felt the effects of acupuncture, I know w/o doubt that it’s effective for certain things.

It’s a mindset of capitalism over all else that infects America and prevents real progress from happening.

Thanks for your thoughts @lefthandseeds , I’m not gonna go much deeper here.

Cheers!

I posted a link awhile back about making diy bootleg insulin because it’s unaffordable.

It’s gallows humor.

Canadian healthcare doesn’t cover drugs and dental.

I think I have definitely seen it work, at least on a small localized scale. My primary care doctor and at least 3 of my specialists have secondary degrees and licenses in naturopathic medicine. They have prescribed herbs, supplements, and vitamins along with safe minimally invasive prescriptions.

It has been very beneficial for me.
I just wish my state insurance would cover the cost of supplements, herbs, and custom compounded prescriptions.

they only cover standard prescriptions, medical procedures, appointments, and some diagnostics and imaging.

All of my prescriptions are covered after a small deductible

I personally think that if COVID affected weed plants, we would all be vaccine proponents.

On a side note, I just heard Guelph leads Ontario in vaccine uptake rate at over 84%.

I love my city.

I believe smoking helps. It definitely has always helped me to spit junk up out of my lungs.

A lot of people look at drs like theyre gods. but theyre just another person to me, not gods so im not scared to think for myself. im just as educated, ill leave it at that.

of course if you feel ill, you might should go see a dr. that seems like obvious common sense

I have a major problem with DRs. They do think they know more that Google. That’s where they get their information from as I see it.

How much is it for a blood panel test in US without insurance ?

Can’t be cheap.
Maybe $3-400usd?

A intern filling in for My doctor at My physician office WOULD NOT give me a requisition for blood work when I asked for a few personal reasons, health and 7 years since last one. I wanted it for peace of mimd + on goin go health issues, weight loss, bowel issues , inflammation in joints.

I called back for when My actual doctor was available. She ordered the bloodwork no problem.

I could see a doctor denying for they’re clinic if it wasn’t practical and would just be costly.

I think my partnees family’s doctor told her it was around $700 cad when all said and done to run a full Panel blood test… im guessing, nurses , lab techs…all that stuff isn’t free.

No covid for me …just one vaccine of moderna and recent oncet of shingles virus :frowning:

They hand pills out. They tell me pill don’t make you feel better. Why give them to me. A few surgeries .Then the prices are unbelievable. They have worked on me. I have nothing good to say about any of them. I think I’d rather be a dog.

It bothers me how prescribed drugs like xanax are for long term use. I know short term they can be miracle drugs but its worse to use them long term than not at all.

But to be fair, vernal is right suggesting people are the problem. The culture of medicine has shifted to be an industry serving our laziness… That might be a bad approach to medicine!

This hurts my brain to read

I’m not understanding?

I think one could infer from your statement that anyone with google essentially becomes a dr.

while i personally dont glorify or worship drs, i certainly wouldnt support the premise proposed above. and i do respect their knowledge. especially as it would pertain to some acute affliction i was personally and immediately afflicted with. but in a general sense, looking about the world around me, i trust my own judgements.
