In all fairness I went to a walk in instead of my real doctor. So this guy was not familiar with me or my general demeanor.
Still. You need to be your own advocate.

Probably not. Youâd be better off saying something like âowww my ovaries hurtâ if youâre looking for something stronger.
Then again they give that shit away like candy so you wouldnât need to try too hard.
That wouldnât be the norm for a doc by me in Joisey! Youâd get antibiotic pills, plus an antibiotic nose spray for sure. My moms docs were notorious for prescriptions, and caved to her demands for painkillers at times (legit back issues, severe osteoporosis).
And I am not saying medication isnât needed at times. But sometimes an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, especially when we ignore that ounce of prevention at times!
I will just leave this hear so people can judge for themselves. As its now being looked at for a covid treatment by the pharmaceutical industry.
Yes go to your Doc and tell them that you are using Cannabis to treat whatever problem it is you are using it for, and they will probably tell you to stop and use a pharmaceutical drug instead.
They have been saying for 50+ years that it will turn you into a axe wielding rapist, looking for stronger drugs and it has no medicinal benefits
Oh wow James Odell a âdoctorâ of âoriental medicineâ and licensed acupuncturist said it so it must be true.
lol he might prescribe ground rhino horn and powdered seahorse for unbalanced humors. Quackery, quackery, quackery.
Talk to a real doctor folks.
I had an actual doctor prescribe weed to meâŚmultiple times, FWIW, @Shadey . It sure wasnât no chiropractor or acupuncturist or reiki healer.
The big problem with Western medicine is itâs arrogance. Some proponents of Western medicine will have you believe that nobody else in the world has anything to offer regarding health and wellness. Itâs entirely possible to reap the benefits of ancient Chinese medicine as well as utilize the technologies of current western thought. You just have to be open to it.
Vernie your not happy unless youâre being a pain in the ass.
@OleReynard Oh neat I didnât know if youâd be back after your humiliation in the F2 thread
@catapult Traditional Chinese Medicine doesnât work. Dubious efficacyâŚat best.
Real life diseasesâŚtalk to a real doctor lol donât play games with herbalism and witchcraft this is potentially life and death stuff, get serious. This isnât controversial outside the crunchy weed-o-sphere, BTW.
My doctors arenât this way. They just recognize that they have to stick to the methods that they are trained in, and have been proven to have efficacy. I have a lot of digestive problems (IBS), and my doctor admits that there isnât much knowledge about what to do about it. I tell him Iâm gonna try some things and he tells me what he thinks the risks are and says go for it.
If I tell them I want to be prescribed something, they prescribe it (except they donât throw around antiobiotics and opoids like they used to for obvious reasons). If they tell me to take something, they tell me the consequences of taking it and of not taking it. Hell, my doctor said âhereâs what I can do for you, but I know youâre not much of a pill person, so itâs up to youâ.
Western medicine isnât a person â doctors are, and a lot of times theyâre pretty damn reasonable in my experience.
(I also tell my doc I smoke weed, and he doesnât even try to convince me to do otherwise.)
You are a fool dude and a trip.
Iâve had two in my life, I NEVER want another one. Horrible experience
Yeah, itâs a whole system made up of individuals, some more or less willing to accept non-western medicines as valid. I have found some good ones as well. As a whole however; the western medicine health care / industry has a lot to learn from other cultures that practice a more wholistic lifestyle of medicine IMO.
I got vaccinated as soon as the VA offered it to me.
First shot made really sick-
Puking sh!tting at the same time type of sickâŚ
Didnât have any side effects at all after the second shot.
Nurse said I probably already had covid.
Itâs true I was coughing and had chest pains trying to breathe back in February. Lasted over a month, symptoms kept coming back.
I am vaccinated and also interested in finding some pine needles to make tea if it could help boost my immunity and ability to sleep:)
Thanks @Shadey for that info
If I tell my doc that âmy ovariesâ are hurting Iâm pretty sure thatâs going to start a whole new conversation
Multiple doctors have prescribed me medical cannabis, and all of my doctors and specialists have approved of my use of cannabis for my medical problems.
In the old california medical system, we got our medical cards in the basement of San Francisco general hospital.
Once time when I was having problems with my autonomic condition I collapsed with muscle cramps and dehydration, and had to call an ambulance because I couldnât get up. They asked me what medications I used to control my muscle cramping and spasms, and if I had any prescriptions for autonomic condition. I told them I couldnât use muscle relaxants and my only prescription for those symptoms was medical cannabis.
They lifted me into a chair, and one EMT administed IV fluids while the other helped me take bong rips until the the cramps in my legs released.
Iâm sure it varies depending on the culture and laws where you live, but all the west coast states have had medical legalization for over 20 years and it is well accepted by medical professionals here.
Cannabis is my pharmaceutical drug, prescribed by my doc
Real honey has helps me.
They do. Pill after pill. I was on 21 pills a day. 2 years ago.
Same here. November 2019. I remember getting up from the table by the day after thanks giving.
I donât want go into details because itâs very scary. As in near death experience. Lay the bed for 3 weeks and not knowing if I was going to die. So many people in my community had it, that the doctors where turning them away.
They didnât know what the sickness was, but everybody had it.
Tons of people died around here, a few are still dying. But the deaths has slowed down some. Maybe a couple a week now. But it was 3 or 4 a week. Every week.
Stay hydrated. The crap wrecks your kidneys. Itâs hard to breathe. My sense of smell is stilll of and on. I lost 40 pounds, and so did most people around here.
But I guess I had log COVID because it took months to fell about 50% or my normal self. It was around 9 months before I quit feeling like I could die at any moment.
I could tell you a lot more, Iâll leave it at you donât want the business end of COVID.
If nothing else, wear a mask in public if you havenât had it yet. Also wear your mask if you have had it and didnât get the symptoms that you hear aboutâŚ. Asymptomatic. Yâall itâs just not worth it.
