what a cute Baby
2 of the Maui Mango Haze had been moved to the Red Tent for gender identification and topped. One is definitely male and will be moved to the kitchen to hang out on the refrigerator; the patio is too cold for the little fellow.
Time to transfer some plants from cups to pots. 3 males have been removed from the Red Tent. The remainder of Zamal, Sinai and Congolese seeds have not sprouted. It’s time to soak more seeds; Mazar-i-Sharif is one of the candidates.
Identify gender and Transfer females from cup to pot:
2 Shiskaberry
1 GSC x Bubblegum
3 Maui Mango Haze … 1 Maui Mango Haze male evicted. Other plants remaining in flower tent until gender is known.
Soak 6 Congolese, 5 Zamal and 10 Mazar-i-Sharif seeds. I like the Congolese seedling and don’t want it to be alone. Mazar-i-Sharif can take 12+ weeks to flower.
Soak coco coir in barley corn sprouted seed tea
I topped Maui Wowie in flower at about 4th node and it bled red sap. Still waiting for the double stem to emerge from the cut. Thr top pair of buds are growing upward and the stem has not grown. I thought that the Dragon Blood Hashplant was the bleeder. Maybe it is high Brix
3 Maui Wowie survived veg and 2 were male. Need to pop more of this strain. The Maui Mango Haze is best for survival amongst the Hawaiian strains that I received from the OG seed runs.
I flowered one bleeder male Dragon Blood Hashplant, zero Ohelo Berry have sprouted, zero Aloha OG and 3 feminized Maui Wowie included 2 males. Meanwhile the Maui Mango Haze up in here like Killer Clowns
@Guitarzan put his foot in the Maui Mango Haze seed run.
Warm day for backyard container garden. Water all plants with comfrey extract diluted with well water. Trim and remove dead branches of wandering jew, bell pepper and poblano pepper. Remove dehydrated poblano peppers. Remove wilting kale and thyme leaves.
Pour solids from comfrey extract jar over inside comfrey plant. Place dried comfrey leaves on ginger pot.
Prepared gallon of water for Veg Closet: well water, calmag, 1/2 teaspoon rehydrated alfalfa and kelp, pinch of Great White microbes powder. Gather harvested seeds and new packets of herbs and flowers to plant as garden companions. Will sow seeds before top dressing container garden.
I am grateful for the seeds that I have received via Overgrow.
I started growing 7 years ago with bagseed that had been tucked in my art supplies for decades. The miracle was that they germinated, survived 12/12 from seed to gender in roughly 3 weeks. I put the females in veg and flowered at 18 inches.
Some plants had double stems, most were energetic sativa; one joint and I would stay awake all night … go fishing or clean the garage.
The bagseed from the local dealers rarely germinated or hermied. I learned about the seedbanks but the results were not much better. The plants that flowered were bland or short high. the colloquial names like frankie
Dagga chamba were unknown.
No one sold Jamaican sensi, Trini hash, Thai stick, paki hash, bhang, sour diesel, etc
Everything is a landrace; growing up it was just herb
Second shot of Covid vaccine and a blood draw for the endocrinologist. Driving in heavy rain storm…could not see road signs or adjacent cars… honey badger driving
Second Congolese seed sprouted 27 days after initial soak in shot cups. The unsprouted Zamal hybrid, Sinai and Congolese seeds are taking dirt naps in Dollar Tree seed peat starter pots in Dollar Tree aluminum tray with plastic dome. This is an inexpensive lightweight germination setup for 15+ seeds using small footprint.
It is currently located in the flower tent under 11/13 because it is the warmest spot in a drafty house. I cover the dome with a sheet of paper towel. I have noticed that some strains can take a month or longer to sprout during germination. The peat cups have been watered with banana peel tea at bottom of the aluminum tray twice per week.
First Congolese is taking off … will take some pix after I disconnect from Baxter…
First Congolese seedling and second Congolese sprout that appeared a few days ago. The larger seedling will be transferred to a smart pot and moved to the Red Tent. 2 Shiskaberry and the GSC x Bubblegum RSC will also be transferred to pots in the Red Tent.
hey bro say something, did you test the viability of your male dragon blood hashplant? did he release any pollen? I have 2 here that bled but did not release any pollen
Started a new tray of soaked seeds in the Dollar Start peat pots: Zamal hybrid, Mazar-i-Sharif and Congolese. The soil is recycled living soil, coco coir, oyster shell, sprouted red heirloom corn and barley tea, coconut flour and a chopstick sprinkle of Great White microbes powder. Sprayed the little germination cups with well water, rehydrated alfalfa and kelp, comfrey extract. The previous germination tray of unsprouted seeds was dumped in a compost bin; the peat pots are appreciated by the compost bin.
He bled and released pollen but I killed him because the other Hawaiian strains were not sprouting atm. I have a female Maui Wowie that is a bleeder currently flowering
Plant transfers delayed until tomorrow. Prepared top dressing for backyard container vegetable garden. Fresh compost; seeds of basil, marigolds and wildflowers; coco coir and sprouted red heirloom corn and barley tea. Basil and marigolds will deter mosquitoes and other pests; the wildflowers will attract pollinators. The top dressing was watered in with a fresh comfrey extract.
Comfrey extract prepared from bruised comfrey leaves, well water, 2 tablespoons lactobacillus serum.
