All topped and looking overly green. Figured I had my lights turned up too much so I turned them down a notch or two. Leaves were as dry as sandpaper. Now they look healthier

Thank you guys for the support, kind words and for following along.

Just wanted to do an update on structure and such

They’re all doing well, except one is showing some freaky yellowing on the new growth. Hopefully it grows out of it.
All of the fan leaves are massive, and nodes are stacked. But most fascinating to me is how short they’re staying and how fat the stems and branching is

Stem rubs so far remind me of mom, musty cabbage, oniony rubber funk. Some stronger than others.

Here’s a shot of them in their new home (2x4) where they will spend the rest of their lives. Maybe in a month they’ll get cloned and flipped.
Tallest plant is 12” and the shortest is 8”.

Love this! They look so good :seedling::metal:

Did a little cleanup of leaves, normally don’t do that in veg but these needed it.

While doing the cleanup, I found something interesting on one of the phenos.
I’m not sure if you can see them clearly but there are 5 branches growing out of that stem. And it’s happening on all nodes of the plant. It will be interesting to see what happens in flower and if this will continue if cloned :face_with_monocle:

Man, that stalk on the 5 branch-er is a monster. Looks like once you chop it it could be fashioned into a nightstick

Almost all of them are fat stalked like that. Amazing how old these plants look.

Damn that’s awesome. Yeah, I’m still loving the leaves too. Their look really reminds me of those OG photos out of murphy steven’s classic seventies grow book!

Yo! Awesome picture. That thing is stacked and squat :seedling: gonna have to find that book :open_book:

That pic is Steve Murphy’s “Purest Indica”, Grandma to NL. “Murphy Stevens” is his pen-name

Plants are looking great @Vagabond_Windy !

I really like the consistency on these - very cabbagy! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: The one with 5 branches looks like the stem is a little flattened and extra “ribbed for her pleasure.” I think it’s called fasciation? Is that what you’re seeing in person? I’ve seen it a couple of times, and one of those times it was only on one branch and didn’t show up in the clone.

Excited to see how these turn out! The slight leaf twist leads me to believe they’re ready for new shoes. When are you transplanting them, and into what size pots?

Yes! Lol
That’s exactly what it looks like.

I just noticed this myself when watering today, all of them are asking for new shoes. It seems as if all their energy goes into branching and stacking nodes. They will get flowered in 4 gallons (because I have 32 gallons of amended soil) sometime this week. Hopefully tomorrow with everything else. Clone them the following week just in time for a May 1st flip? If all goes well. :green_heart:

They went into 3 gallons yesterday and are looking ok today. Hoping to clone them on Saturday and then flip Monday to flower.

Remind me to only put 7x plants in 3 gallon pots in the 2x4 from now on, leaves me room for a fan :+1:t3:

Noticing a cool leaf trait on both of my DLA5 S1

Notice the mutated serrations at the base of the primary leaflets?

I’m noticing it on both plants, wondering if anyone has noticed the same?

One of the left smells very minty, like pepper or spearmint. Kinda surprised me. The one on the right smelling more fruity so far, but just starting to frost, so that’ll change.

That’s freaky! But so cool. I will keep an eye out for those during my hunt.

Mine are pretty much still musty/funky cabbages. Peppery on some of them yes but not necessarily minty.

Thank you for posting your progress here :green_heart:
