Day 30 F (yesterday)
Still slow as can be. With a couple looking like they’re faster than the others. But it’s like saying one snail is faster than the other :man_shrugging:t2::weary:

Oh, and I cleaned up a little bit lol

As I get my environment dialed in, everything is looking better here we are 7 days later

Looking good bud! I picked up a pack or two of these from @Rosinallday, so I am watching intently.

Just so there’s no confusion the pictures above are S1’s that Vagabond made from dla5 f2’s. Looking good bro, glad they snapped out of the mutation.

My bad! I’m easily confused and don’t really know what the hell Im talking about. Ha! Thanks again bud for the beans

I’m almost positive the mutation was just as Nube said, likely a seed shell issue.

Thank you for clearing up any confusion.
for those following along, the S1 I made were using a selection from the F2 Rosinallday made.

My s1 are not available for sale but may be available for free for med patients in the distant future or for people who are passionate enough to grow a slow growing stanky Afghani line💚

Yeah I emailed @Rosinallday asking him if all his DLA5 were the same slow-ish veg and compact plants as you experienced with the F2 @Vagabond_Windy. Thankfully, he said he hasn’t seen that at all and nobody else has, so maybe it was cool temps or something specific to the females you got?

Hmmm
I believe Rosinallday, but in the F2s I grew(5 seeds lol) all of them were slow veggers. You can see the grow in my Seeds from Friends thread.
The one pheno that survived my trip, who is the mother to the s1, is an extremely slow vegger. Like slower than slow.
It did get worse in my cold temps this winter, fact.

My only point is in the s1 I made, that’ll probably be more of what you’ll see, slow vegging Afghanis.
3 of us are growing them out now, theyre all slow in veg at this point. several others have them as well. My hope would be to find a few standout fast females (pool of 50 plants minimum) to cross back to a male from either the F2 by @Rosinallday (I have a nice amount of viable F2 now) or to the F1 Open Pollination im planning. :green_heart:

The only time I grew the f2’s were a germ test about a month ago and 100% came up with impressive vigor but I only grew them to second leaf as a test and no further. I’ll be tuning in to see what happens, thanks for giving these a shot.

Thanks for following up @Rosinallday I really appreciate the details on this stuff. And thanks for making all those F2 and donating your extra pack to make MORE! That’s just so cool of you, man. Especially now that they are discontinued.

These s1 are looking bushy and robust @Vagabond_Windy cold temps or not. Which side you think they lean to? HP or A1? I can’t wait to see this 50 plant hunt! :sunglasses:

Can’t say for sure. I’ve never run the A1 and I’ve only run a couple HP females. From my research , the pheno I have of the F2 leans to the A1.

50 - 8 = 42
Only 42 more plants to grow :sunglasses:

Those definitely look like the HP mother, the A1 phenos will look alot more sativa and the buds are actually more skinny. There should be at least one of those A1 females in the f1’s from Bodhi. Look for the more sativa looking plants. The male I used for the f2’s was definitely a A1 dom, I had a picture of him but don’t anymore.

These are going into 1/2 gallon pots next week.
I can see a couple different phenotypes so far.

Then we have some more F2 from @Rosinallday directly all 10 of 10 popped vigorously after 48 hours

Super cool project definitely gonna hang and learn! Do you finish in 2 gals? I have really been loving the square 2 gals in my grow and noticed them earlier in the thread…

For a run or two I did use square pots but they were 5 gallons. Now I’m using fabric pots and for pheno hunts I’m using 2 or 3 gallon fabric pots and they work well in my setup

Thanks for following along
