Do you have a better pic of the white mold/fungus? I’ve never dealt with anything other than bud rot, and always attributable to caterpillars. But I have a library of grow books and have studied way too much

If it’s powdery mildew, it seems most people on here use milk or potassium bicarbonate. Again, I’ve never had it but I know it’s an ingredient in baking powder (not baking soda, baking POWDER). Hopefully someone actually knows and can chime in. The hydrogen peroxide may work but I’m not sure it’s very effective if it’s established. More of a preventative, but again, hopefully someone who has dealt with it will chime in and help us both.

I think Ginger is fine, I’d leave her. Little small but no worries. What’s the worst that can happen? At least you cleaned her up to take care of fungal problems.

Thanks bro. Yeah, I didn’t get a good pic today because I just saw it at the end of the work and was bummed and figured it will still be there tomorrow :upside_down_face:…Ill definitely get some clear pics in the morning, now that I calmed down :slightly_smiling_face:
It will all work out, will try the baking powder, have never used but will do some reading, Ill definitely leave everything alone for now. Take it a day at a time!

Thats good to hear brother, Im still having a tough time with some of the intricacies myself, but its definitely not hard to find something good to get into around here, my main problem is staying current with what everyone has going on as there’s just so much going on! Its overwhelming, but in a good way. So much to learn here! Good luck with the new grow, I can relate with trying new ways but eventually going back to the basics, so much simpler and less stressful, Im about ready to start over myself right now, we’ll see very soon!
Happy Growing :v:

I thought about this more and did some more research. I think I was wrong. People use baking soda often because of it’s alkalinity. Baking powder actually contains an acid and a base, so they neutralize. It would defeat the point. I think you’d be looking for raw potassium bicarbonate. So all signs are pointing towards NOT using baking powder. IF it’s PM, I’d use the milk treatment first, then try to find potassium bicarbonate. If its standard white mold, maybe the H2O2 would help or someone has a better recomendation.

Here is the one I read about. They post up the researchers original work to recheck, if you wish. Many times lower defoliation is your best friend. You are ridding your self, of potential issue, with almost zero return, for allowing the scrub to hang on till the end.
My only successful grow outdoors was in the late 80’s, in the back yard of the first house/dwelling I bought.
Damn was it run down! Anyway, in the back yard, I made 2 raised beds, normal garden, until May, when I tossed a few seeds (bagetts) in both beds. I thinned out so each had a plant. As they grew, the sight of them freaked me out, so I started to make small wire candy canes that I would sort of hold the ends of the plant down to the ground, so it could not grow UP, but it grew wild, and by September, when all else was dying back, there she was sprawled out across the back yards, knee wall, as we lived on a hill, from one side to the other of the yard, no where was more than a foot tall, and it was all bud spikes standing up. Kind of hard to see, as many times, I’d take a friend to see the tomatoes, NOT ONE EVER said, hey is that bud down there? EVERYONE looks up for cannabis trees!!
My best friend at the time, had been around it (raised beds) a dozen times, but the day I cut it, he was gob smacked, as I wanted him to see my haul of buds. They streched a total of 20 feet or so.
I now, cut 5 times more bud, on a single hydro run now, than I cut back then, but it was the feeling of pulling something off, right in front of the world…well a bit for me anyway, LOL!
Was NOT the best I ever had, nor a big harvest, nor did I do that gain, as my kids were getting older, wiser, and I would be landing a life changing job, but extensive traveling.
That was that until 1999 when I first found the internet and all my favorite folks on Earth, cannabis growers!! I dont care how you grow, it’s that you do it, that binds me.

I’ve never had PM to test any of these methods, but @JoeCrowe’s apparently been researching it with an electron microscope for a few years. He swears by a 90% sulfur spray, 2 tbsp per gallon. It doesn’t look like your plants are flowering yet, which is good, since you’re only supposed to use it in veg; and you may want to wait a few days, or spray the plants down with water first, to get the oil off them from previous attempts.

Good morning friends
I cant express my gratitude for the time and support that always comes out of the woodwork here, so much love for yall! Im not stressing this much anymore, as with most problems, I usually freak out for 30min, then slap myself in the face… “Boy?! You Stupid or What?! We got to get on this!” Reach out to the OGs and just do some listening…

So far I haven’t done anything except the initial prune that revealed the issue and this morning things didnt look any worse so thats positive. Im gonna do some real reading today, check out the generous link, as well as soke up any opinions here and by the end of the day, make a decision. I have three plants(cannabis) out where the problem is occurring, so its possible I’ll experiment at first to find out what works best. It surely seems to have spread from the cucumber, melon, cantaloupe! How silly of me to plant those particular plants around the cannabis. Going to remove asap. This morning, I could only find a few leaves with even a trace but we all know thats enough, this early on. Here is the best pic I could get so far…

Unfortunately/fortunately? the plants are in the beginning of flower so the sulfer spray is out but I truly appreciate any and all info. And the support just means alot. Thank you @Cormoran @webeblzr @FieldEffect @ColeLennon @Herrsquidward @Jetpup and all the amazing people here that are so quick to offer advice, support, and friendship. Hope all is well with everyone today
You guys Rock! Thanks again! :v::heart:

Have you checked to make sure that’s mildew and not just a bit of water scale?

Looks like planthoppers. They leave a mess like powdery mildew.

Have you tried Pure Crop? Or Mite Extreme? Both are good and I’ve used them both at earlier to mid flower with no issues. Just spray at night or early early morning.

I kind of feel bad upvoting that, but it’s good you can come here and get advice. I’ve heard spraying a mixture of water and peroxide (I don’t know what ratios, though) or that a solution of water and baking soda will get rid of it. If you do use baking soda, make sure to put a pinch of sulfur in the soil to bring the pH down. Again, I don’t know what ratios to use; I’ve always gardened by instinct and feel.

ehh if you determine it’s powdery mildew, you’ll need to understand some things about the parasite to prevent it from coming back…
powdery mildew is only on plant material from the host. If you are growing the plant outside and it’s infested, it will infest the area around it with plant material that is infectious. In the spring you can whip up some sulfur water and spray it around where you had the cannabis plants. That will sterilize the environment so the mildew is toast. Then if you plant clean clones, the mildew won’t come back.
In order to clean up an indoor grow, or infested plants, you mix 1/2 or even 1 tablespoon 90%+ sulfur mixed with 1 liter of water and coat the plants with that spray. Do it again two weeks later and the mildew is guaranteed dead and not coming back. That sulfur mix you never spray in bloom and never use after an oil based application.
This paragraph I just typed in is cutting edge treatment you won’t find detailed anywhere else, except by me. Original research the industry will be feasting on in a decade.

Good Day OGs! I have been reading like a mad man, obsessing alot, finding contradictory evidence throughout the internet but when all is said and done, once again, I just really appreciate the helpfulness here and positive vibes flowing freely!

As @JoeCrowe pointed out, which btw, thank you for taking the time to share your extensive personal knowledge and research on the subject in such detail, and as you pointed out and as Im sure others will agree, Im not at all certain what this is…

And I dont know what it is, or was, all over the cucumber and squash as well…

But, all of that growth is gone now, I did an h202 1:10 spray on all of the cannabis plants, actually pretty much the whole garden, and then when I woke up this morning, I harvested what I could of the veggies, and just removed everything that was in between the cannabis…

I also did a 2% citric acid spray early this morning. Was a bottle I had laying around but Im not sure how much any of this will help now that the problem is visible. Just trying a wide spectrum of organic remedies. I dont have any baking soda at the house atm so will probably pick that up and try that as well, as it seems to be my best option at this point for this grow, after this grow, I will look into other more sterile options for down the road, as it just makes sense that I will be dealing with this as most everyone does at some point and once bad habits cause this type of thing, it seems hard to beat. I might have to make some tough choices going forward. But in the meantime, I just want to try mild options for now, this is still very early if it is PM or similar and for now, heck! They are looking great…

And the other harvests are still coming in so life is good…

This was interesting to see, a very pregnant mantis that has been hanging out on the Don Johnson, was about to lay her eggs so I moved her to this pepper plant since I do plan on harvesting some buds and want her egg case to remain intact

Jeeze, trying to type all this up on my little ass phone and not accidentally hitting reply is becoming a huge problem for me! Lol…here she is…Pregnant Mantis…

Thanks again everyone and please know that ALL is Good with me, Im doing what I can here and there for the garden but I pray we are all focusing on whats truly important today. I spent part of the weekend with my son,Takoda, and that opened up my eyes a lot, a true blessing. He is growing up way too fast, such motivation for me to stay focused and make wise choices. :v::heart:

Very, very cool! We saw a big walking stick on our roses last night. What makes mantis so interesting is you can see their intelligence in how they move and watch you.

Good catch on the walking stick, almost impossible to find! I know what you mean about the mantids, they do seem very intelligent. Her abdomen is so swollen and pulsating, definitely gonna keep an eye on her and try to grab a photo of the egg case.

And I always appreciate the love brother, I dont see them as upvotes here at OG, just love, understanding and support
Thank You!
