Anybody ever squish bud thats been deseeded? I usually take it all and turn it into RSO in 1lb batches (usually cooks down to about 70 grams of oil.
I’d like to start squishing some rosin, but I dont think i’m gonna switch up my plan too much. I want to squish the deseeded bud, I dont really think I produce enough to make squishing worthwhile otherwise? i’m not sure. dipping my toes in the water here.
Could try to shake the bejeezus out of it, bone dry over a screen, then press the hash? Usually gets better rosin, in my very amateur, untrained opinion.

Sure do! It takes longer to load bags with the deseeded material, often the returns are lower, and of course the odd seed or two will remain hidden and taints the rosin.
After a year or two of pressing this way for the betterment of my sanity I pledged to no longer pollinate my perpetual runs and have now opted for a pollination only area. Funny to think how many seeds can be had with a literal brushstroke. I wonder, are you shucking by hand?
damn man, that mr trianglehead looks ADHESIVE! super duper sticky. I remember when I was testing they were all that light lime green and were all like they were sprayed from heat to toe in the aerosol glue. That loud ass, sharp and acrid but kinda sweet and kushy smell too.
@varuna Thanks for the info! thats pretty much what i feared, and also why I dont really like to smoke the shucked bud in the first place, haha. My method will usually depend on what tent im in, how many other plants I got, etc, but this last time i did my preferred method in the 4x8, I hold the reversed female up over the rest, and shake her like shes got milk money in her pockets. Once you’re done doing that, you say, oh damnit shit fuck, and wipe the spilled coco and perilite off the plants that you accidently spilled that all over. THEN i’ll repeat the process for a couple days, til im content.
sometimes I’ll pop off some of the buds/smaller branches so I can take them around and break them open on lowers that might not of gotten as much pollen.
my shucking method has been working out well though. I dry the shit out of it, then destem all the buds into a large collander with a screen (as opposed to holes punched in a steel sheet) and then just basiclly act like a gentle mortar and pestal, the seeds stay in the collander and the dried bud flakes through. I catch that in the trim tray below, and then that tray catches the drysift.
Guess im just gonna keep turning it into RSO. I already got a process down, seems like the right way to continue.

I might start doing this sieving method though sounds cool. I am utilizing a massive chicken shredder with wide teeth, think a big grinder, takes no time to shred a few ounces up. And thats a great method man, I used take the males and hold them over the canopy like that and knock knock knock on the main branch, kind of miss the sight of pollen falling like snow. What I do not miss are the hours of shucking!
holy shit, for all the times I’ve teased those things about being “oversized weed grinders” i never thought to use one for the deseeding purpose. a few gentle turns should break it most of the way open that. On another note, I did a stem rub on one of my Nyx that I have going and it made me do a double take. It has an odd nose to it similar to some mint that I have growing behind my barn.

Just one seed (plant count limitations and I run multiple strains at once for personal variety). I took cuts just in case but so far I think I’ll be keeping this one around.

@nonamegoat Yo, those are “weird berries”, they were made along with everything else when I did my black light bubba line. When I tested them, they all ended up being the tallest plants (a little over doubled in size) and this suuuuuper deep dark purple, I think they all leaned real hard towards the Black Light Fantasy that was the grandparent, the mom in Black Light Bubba. I’ve seen others grow it out and it ended up being a bit greener, more of a Fake Shake leaner. It was all some really flavorful, high cerebral activity/slow body activity kinda high.

woo, flower run is finally looking decent, filling in nicely, i’ll drop some pics tomorrow, as welll as some other stuff. Seeds are being packed, new stuff to the site soonish and a big restock to GLG as well. GOnna have more time for updating here as well soon too. I didnt realize how many days had gotten away from me!
