Pretty curious to see the vintage blueberry I’m guessing that’s the fast vintage blueberry I was looking at last week

It’s supposed to be more sativa , the blue genes more Indica …From all I gather , it came from Dj’s personal stock … I’m germinating one pack now , the 907 Blue Genes …

My friend Will has the original Bubblegum cut that one the cup in ‘94 … Tony from Sagarmatha had that cut too .

Tony and Dutch Passion burned DJ and didn’t pay him what was agreed . I was there on the front lines in Amsterdam when this was happening… contrary to popular stories , the real cut of Bubblegum came from R.I. , not Indiana …

Theyre stil herming really bad both packs “old and new” hermed. Not all but enough to move on. Honestly the Purple plants I had arent super terpy or really knock your socks off. I guess thats why you run like 40 seeds to find a keeper.

Nothing against your work but everything damn near has f4 BB. Well DJ says f4 so he has an f4 or it got raided? Too much going on for me. He started changing now its labeled f5.

They were labeled contains both f4 and f5. Lol. Im glad I didnt spend 275 on a pack of newberry. I have some DP BlueBerry. MOB Spliff seeds BB, and somepeakbc. I enjoy BB crosses way better. Just not my cup of grass. They all look super similar tho. Nice work maing.:+1:t2::v:

I just need more space to try more strains. Like I need another hole.

Get the Hazeman blueberry. It’s dirt cheap and it is exactly as advertised. I like the blue lines, I know they aren’t the strongest or smelliest but I’d describe them as pleasant, mellow, tasty, and quick maturing. Often very pretty plants, as well.

DJ’s policies of charging $200+ packs and telling people they aren’t allowed to breed with them is laughable, though. He also really should make a disclaimer about the mutants. Every plant seems to have some sort of mutation but everyone acts like the guy invented breeding.

Since DJ’s gear is so inbred, it is better as a breeding stock, but he’s actively against that haha.

I picked up a pack of first light, that came with flo and vanilluna packs. Plan on running them all in one go in the fall and seeing what happens!

Veey interesting read. I’ve been growing " blueberry" since 1991. Its morphed over the years into a strawberry and a hashy smelling pheno. I would love to grow the same plants i grew way back then! So these blueberry sativa…i have some from antennae seeds… any relation? Is this dj’s line reworked or inbred?

I currently have 2 blueberry feminized at about 4 weeks and both are completely different.
Plant 1 is very short with super tight nodes and already stinks of high hell of fruit.
Plant 2 is slightly taller with huge fans leaves w long stems and no smell.
I plan on keeping only 1 as a mother and interested on the pheno types

I clone everything i flower and do not make any decisions on what to keep until trying the finished product.

I will be taking clones before I flower these and make a decision. After they finish I will decide

When I first grew mine 30 yrs ago, they had massive leaves. Nearly a foot long fingers an inch or more wide apiece. If the stem reeks of fruit, thats the one. Males may have tight clusters of flowers. The smoke was epic. We called it Maxwell House weed. It was good to the last drop! Even the last bowl hit was blueberry
I miss it. I’m probably at F-10 or so if i had to guess, and strawberry is the lone surviving fruit pheno. It was and is very easy to recognize. Mold proof too. There was a hashy pheno as well that had a heavier buzz to it. Go for the fruit if you like uppety, zoney pot. But definately take clones if you can as @Grohio says. I wish I had been able to do that Years ago. Only seeds for me.

Vanilluna I’d grew a few years back was a gorgeous looking plant , had vanilla smells one down side it didn’t produce shit . Smoke was fairly decent from what I remember I think it went 11 weeks . It’s been put on the back burner for now think I got 7 seeds left along with CK and azure haze which showed deformed leaves and hermi traits in the CK

I honestly wonder if DJs work is another stoner “Mandela effect”. As in it wasn’t as good as memory says it is. It seems that when he originally released his work it was revolutionary (same as the Chem line, but not close to the same tier) for terps and color. Now that everyone has their own blueberry lines, it seems as if people have been able to expand upon his work and improve upon it whereas he’s been working the same genetics for 30 years w/o any improvement or modernization. Understandably, doing one thing well is better than multiple things shitty; but at this point, I dont think anyone goes for DJs BB when theyre wanting BB. Rather they acknowledge him for the contribution he made when it comes to the BB but chose not to use his gear and go with someone else’s… On a personal note, I dont agree with his mentality on breeding and others using his work. His analogy of tomato genetics for people using his lines leads me to believe he either leans to himself wanting to be paid for using his genetics (already did when they purchased his pack) OR acknowledgment that he created them. With the later being a bit absurd as everyone already credits him (besides some of the blue lines coming out of AK which supposedly predate DJs work, but thats another topic). Granted, ive never met the man or his son and had conversations with either or them, but from his potcast and the way the information was conveyed, thats what it sounds like to me.
Now as previously mentioned; the other blue lines coming out of AK. According to AKBB himself, his blueberries ARE NOT from DJs stock. They supposedly predate his work. Now, I’ve always been under the interpretation that DJ was the one and only one who created the blueberry cultivar; but apparently some old heads in AK disagree… I dont have exact dates or any proof, but honestly id be really curious to a timeline and have a consensus on the origins of the blueberry. For one, it would be interesting to see if the blueberry terps are a naturally occurring or if they had to be bred towards. Second, if there are other blueberry genetics out there that predate DJs, then the obvious being he didnt create it (at least not the original but his version but thats a can of worms in itself). And if those old genetics up there ARE DJs, then itd be really interesting to pop some of that old stock and see how it compares to his F-1000 or whatever hes claiming to be at this point… I snagged a pack of AKs Vintage fast BB just cause im hoping to find some original stock, or the blueberry of old that all the old heads rave about.
