DJ short old world genetics blueberry

Cocoa kush is a pheno of blueberry. And coco bubble is just the f6 of cocoa kush.

Maybe that helps? @V4vendetta

No worries at all. Iā€™m not that much of an asshole. I needed a few more minutes on the clock at work anyways  @V4vendetta

You got some solid info already but Iā€™ll add more about my experience with cocoa kush, its offspring, which would be similar to the cocoa bubble release, and outcrosses. In general, I end up saying almost exactly how Dj describes it on the original packs and in his conversations. The main notes are cocoa, fine tobacco, black licorice, leather. Theres definitely blueberry in there too. The line is from blueberry sativa pool (bbs). Same line that made Vanilluna, and the work breeder steve did in outcrosses. I think they were called blue satellite. I think its the line on the cover of Djā€™s book too. That or flo. They fade dark purple to black on the leaves. Euphoric bliss, relaxation. I could go on, but Iā€™ll leave it here.

Nice.

I may have to breed Cocoa Kush to Sanā€™s C5bx to try and remake Johnny Blaze someday

Thatā€™s looking like some great stuff, keep that great work up!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your efforts to help me with my vague question. Lol

I really dig all the flavors and chill highs I get from all the DJ strains ive grown, and they are very visually stunning plants to grow.

But they have odd growing habits, which are interesting and at times challenging. I think iam getting the swing of it, growing these are a great way to hone in your grow skills to all those that have not grown out any DJ strains yet.

This is a very long thread to read, but the gist seems that DJā€™s line has drifted too far from the original.

So would someone please help me out by cutting to the chase and just dropping whose/what/where is ā€œthe oneā€ Iā€™m after?

90s blues seems like itā€™s an attempt at bringing it back. Anyone have experience there?

What about lost skunk F2 exodus x ugorg blues.
Iā€™ve got the seeds but Iā€™ve not grown them yet.

For blueberry the only one Iā€™d put my name to atm is blueberry twist, blueberry/fruity with underlying cat piss.

Looks like a good one! GLG has them as freebies for any MOG pack this month, but Iā€™m not too much on spending $80 on a pack I really donā€™t have much interest in just to get the freebies I want  Too bad. Sometimes I wish he had an option to just pay for the freebie. Itā€™s that good sometimes šŸ¤·

90ā€™s Blues was recombining a different phenotype blueberry sibling male to the 98 f4 blueberry female. A green stemmed fruity kush blueberry male for 90s blues vs the stable purple stemmed original 98 bb male. The 90s blues brought more of the bb muffin and bubblegum into the mix. Vs the original being more fresh bb, candied bb, or forrest bb. Red wine notes are dominant in both lines. You also get a bit more of the spicy Oaxacan side coming out of the 90s blues.

I have been growing, hunting, breeding, and selecting blueberry genetics since I tried it back at the Deer Creek Dead Show in 95. Long story, but I traded a second night extra ticket for some blueberry, and I was hooked, looking for that blueberry ever since. I met Dj around 2014, and have been working with him from there on. I love helping bring the original blueberry heirloom lines to the world. But my passions also lie in doing outcrosses. Mainly sour x blueberry is where I found my bliss effect. Iā€™d recommend blue star to anybody looking for that full flavor to the end of the joint of blueberry pie dessert wine. I like to describe the effect akin to sitting on the beach with a warm breeze gently blowing over you. I have blue star in male/female f2 form called Grape Diesel Kush. But Iā€™d recommend for a more clear path to the bb pie mother pheno, trying the s1 called Mayberry. You can find those @Great_lakes_Genetics.

From a 30 year grower of blueberry, blue star is the best Blueberry hybrid I have had, and original blueberry is the pure one Iā€™d recommend for breeding, or the relaxing-satisfaction effect that Dj bred for and nailed.

I think its also important to note that if you want BB, you are better off outcrossing and even Bxā€™in BB.
DJā€™s work is more of a breeding tool than a finished product

Blue Dream, Johnny Blaze, NLxBB, and other crosses prove this point.
You wont find the old BB in a pack of BB seeds, but youā€™ll find it when breeding with it

Thereā€™s a 1997 nyc blueberry cut floating aroundā€¦ apparently it was all the rage before sour. Also heard there is no blueberry flavor/aroma in it - which would honestly be the strangest thing

I recently had the privilege of smoking on some htfse from ganjawise which is from an Old Island Blueberry cut from BC. Super blueberry taste, and the most anxiety worry melting effect I have ever seen. Wondering if anyone has any info on this cutting, I see that White Buffalo uses it for some of their work.
