Do the highs feel the same to you? ( as in just kind of boring, background high, not the same as back then , not distinct from one another ) )

In general though, I try to mix up what I’m smoking as often as I can. When I find something nice that really works I’ll keep smoking that for a little while, and when the effects plateau I try to move on to something else.

I don’t go to dispos often, but when I do… at best it hits nice a few times and then it’s background before I know it. My own stuff is on the whole much better in that regard.

ETA: I think the general trend seems to be toward boring highs.

People want to do drugs without feeling like they’re doing drugs haha.

But yeah, any rec weed I have gotten from a Dispo is mids. Stuff from the medical system can still be nice smoke, but even there the selection isn’t what it was 4 or 5 years ago.

In addition to the quality/genetics of modern flower we need to look at other factors. A big one for me is smart phone use which has contributed to brain re-wiring around frequent dopamime release and ever shorter highs; this has to impact the effects of cannabis, particularly if staring at our phones is a go to activity with cannabis consumption. Also, everyone else being high, the background of our highs is not the contrast it used to be when regular society around us was not on the weed frequency. Maybe a good thing, but a kind of mainstream moment for weed in many ways including its effects, the revolutionary quality in the experience has left the room. Finally, we have generally moved from weed as a social experience. The culture of weed has become ever individualistic with positive medical aspects but maybe also less of the social piece which used to be the main point back in the day.

Micro dosing some shrooms will help against dopamine addiction, that might help you to stablize. First time I did a 90 day run of micro dosing years ago I removed my Facebook account and uninstalled all the mobile games I had on my phone. It became really apparent to me that I was becoming obsessed with the thrill of these apps, while they had zero constructive impact on my life. They are in a sense just like cigarettes, keeping you occupied while you slowly die and feeding the dopamine system that this is the best way to live your life.

Don’t any of you know anyone who just started smoking, by chance? --my brother in law just starting smoking about 5 or so yrs ago, as a 40 yr old adult. And let me tell you, getting high with him is alot like getting high with a buddy back when you were 16 and acted like starving idiots :rofl::rofl:

It’s the main reason I think we’re all victims of accumulative effect over time, rather than hybridization dulling the gene pool. Even if we all took a year long tolerance break, we’ll never get back to that state when we were younger and hadn’t done 20+ years worth of littering our bodies.
