Do you use a electric timer for your lights

Yep, that is what mine are on.

That is what I have in the veg tent.

I’ve got a wifi timer… its sweet… except every couple of months it decides it doesn’t want to turn off my lights, or turn them on as scheduled. Then its not sweet. I think im going back to mechanical

I use a smart plug right now but will be switching to a mechanical when I have the money. Not sure what happened but the lights didn’t come on a couple days ago. Could be the power went out after the power on cycle or something, but I’d rather it kick back on automatically.

I have heard that several times. So stayed with mechanical.

I use a manual timer for things that don’t need less than 15 min increments. For instance, my grow light runs off a mechanical timer, mean while my UVB is running in 10 min increments, so that requires a digital timer.

TL:DR, I use both…

I use a couple of these in my grow space to control various devices like lights, fans, heaters, etc.

Z-wave is something that requires a little extra fiddling to get running, but once it’s running it’s pretty solid IMO. Having control over each individual outlet or over all at once without using cloud-based or app-based controls is pretty nice.

I stick with the mechanical dial ones, haven’t let me down yet. I did have a mechanical one on a power strip but it fried itself in a few weeks
