Easy Bubblehash

Yep no doubt about it.
I threw in a 1/4 lb of trimmed bud I wasn’t impressed with in this last batch.

Personally I wouldn’t even bother with less than 1/4 lb of trim, larf, and bud combined.

I have no doubt but I won’t do my first attempt by throwing in my frosty buds, lol. Perhaps if I were growing more right now. Only growing my current 4 plants for bud due to the males going hermie so they were not topped or trained. They were also kept small. Now when I do my next full bud run I will give it a shot but for now them BOG buds are getting jarred and smoked

If it squished good with lots of return then it should make excellent hash . The frostier the better the hash is .

The trim and larf from your BOG plants should give you some nice bubble hash Doug.

Yeah, going to give it a shot. If they keep building trichomes like they are it should be good. BOG hash, oh man that sounds like such a good idea.

Roughly how much weight is lost while drying?

It depends on how long you let it dry. I have found that if you only let it dry for 3-4 hrs it retains a lot more of the turps and weight. If you let it dry overnight it loses a lot of the turp flavors. Normally you will lose about 1/3 of the weight or so if just putting it in the freezer after 3-4! hours. Left overnight expect to lose about 50% or so. Larger chunks take longer to dry so you have to be vigilant about storing at the right time.

ive got some huge 32 gallon bubblebags do you think the drill and paint mixer will do the trick?

I have never done anything but the 5 gallon bags. I truly doubt that without extensions for the paint stirrer that it will properly stir the contents. With extensions I see no reason that the same process would work fine.

I guess if you only ran 10 gal or less it might be doable without adding on to your mixer

This is almost becoming a lost art around here…most people just make shatters an such now a days. This used to be the most popular method around here.
I love me some good bubble hash. I should dust my bags off an make something.

I use this to stir. It came with my snowblower. Perfect. Lol

I never seem to get much return from my bubble hash runs so think I am either adding too much material, not stirring long enough, or not letting the working back settle long enough to let the tricomes settle out.

About how long do you stir it with the paint stir (I see until frothy), and how long do you let it settle before pulling the working bag?

I stir about 15 minutes or so (never timed it), possibly a little longer… I mostly go by how frothy it gets and how much material I am using. The key thing is lots of ice, I add ice to keep the bag full as I stir. Freezing the product before use helps a lot also. I use about 1/4 to 1/2 lb or so in my 5 gallon bags. I also do a second run with the same material to get a maximum of trich’s. I don’t really let it settle at all. After stirring I start pulling bags.
I do bounce my bags to help in the draining but not to an extreme as I don’t want to force things through the bags. Another important factor is to keep the water covering the material. If not covered with water the trich’s never enter the water to get filtered.
